Akuyaku Reijou ni Narimashita is a manga with a surprisingly common premise. It’s part of a counter to the heroine reverse stories of old with the MC being the villainess. The MC usually is a Japanese woman in her 20s with an obsession with the otome game they’re being reincarnated into.
That being said this one stacks up pretty well against the competition. The art is a lot better than the average for this story and so is the writing.

There are multiple important characters of both genders and none of them are too generic. It’s unfortunate that the story wasn’t given more room to ... breathe. With only 7 chapters it had to condense many things. There are only one or two sub arcs between the main events that only last a chapter or so.
While it’s nice to see events not drawn out I could feel how constrained the overarching story and character building was. Especially in the relationship between the MC and the main love interest.

Overall this is a nice one day read with decent art. Although I wish the manga hadn’t gotten canceled so quickly as to give it more room to breathe.

While this story has a somewhat trendy cliche premise, it's still a very strong solo title and doesn't overstay its welcome. If you're a newcomer to the subgenre of villainess manga, this is definitely a great starting point.
The art is very pretty, and definitely better than a lot of other shorter titles in the genre, though the main girl's design is a little bit generic.
The character writing is very neat and focused, and it doesn't stray too far off into silly gimmicks like some other titles (far too many manga in this genre will have extremely bloated casts of flatly written pretty boys...). ... The narrow focus of the writing and competent pacing keep it enjoyable throughout- it reads very easily and the main girl is very sympathetic.
Overall this is a good short read, definitely worth the time it takes to breeze through. It's just novel enough to be entertaining and familiar enough with its trope writing to feel comfortable.
