Pretear is one of my all time favorite manga series, and I simply could not stop noticing the similarities while I was reading Barajou no Kiss. In both, a girl who doesn't quite fit in suddenly finds herself surrounded by a group of (rather attractive looking) knights. Neither are your typical mahou shoujo because they both go beyond simply fighting evil. Both heroines are suddenly involved with the knights without quite knowing the whole story. Both sets of knights hide parts of the past and their history from her, and things are a lot more complicated than they appear. If you're a fan of one,  read more

Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Prétear are two magical girl series that have some interesting takes on the genre, with the former series using deconstructive elements to fuel its plot and the latter having the magical girl's powers mainly being channeled through seven magical boys. Both series have dark elements (especially in Madoka Magica), even providing some dark surprises, and both even start out with the main protagonist being unsure about accepting their newfound situations.

Prétear and Baron: The Cat Returns are two modern fairy tales with a distinct shojo quality. They are both about a girl who gets herself into an unexpected situation of the fantasy type, with some male characters assisting her.

Frozen Apple and Prétear are two manga aimed at girls that are themed around the classic fairy tale "Snow White." The titular character takes on a very different depiction in both manga—Frozen Apple's Snow White is a much more pushier and avaricious person, and Prétear's Snow White is taken on a whole new meaning, with an ordinary Japanese girl who becomes a magical girl take on the princess as the main character. The seven dwarfs are also pretty different too.

Beauty and the Beast of Paradise Lost and Prétear: The New Legend of Snow White are two manga-style takes on classic fairy tales: the former is a bit of a mix between Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood, while the latter has elements of Snow White and Cinderella. The main character is a rough-at-first girl who seems to feel neglected of parental love as the story goes along, eventually getting into some otherworldly realm where she meets a wide cast of magical characters, one of which is a seemingly abrasive love interest. There are also somewhat similar villain characters.

"The Reincarnated Snow White Doesn’t Want to Eat the Poisoned Apple" and Prétear are two modern shoujo takes on the classic fairy tale "Snow White", featuring a main character in what is essentially the role of the titular character. Reincarnated Snow White gives the fairy tale an isekai twist, while Prétear gives the fairy tale a magical girl twist and exchanges the seven dwarfs for seven magical boys.

Uta Kata and Prétear are two magical girl series that feature the main protagonist borrowing powers based on nature (e.g. fire, water, etc.) and getting to wear different magical costumes with each power, something rare for the genre. Both focus on relationships and some darker themes, though Uta Kata is shorter and more darker than Prétear.

Full Moon wo Sagashite and Prétear are two beautifully drawn manga series that tackle a subgenre of the magical girl genre, as Full Moon is a magical girl idol series, while Prétear is a magical girl warrior series. The main character in both series get their magic power from a male character (more than one in Prétear's case). Both contain drama, some romance, and darker themes.

Ordinary schoolgirl meets her new responsabilities as a maiden/princess - with a reverse harem of bishounen knights - in a fantasy world. Both Fushigi Yugi and Pretear are adventurous and romantic isekai shoujo manga. One draws from ancient Chinese mythology, the other is a take on the classic fairytale Snow White.

Both stories are about a miserable but a short-temperd girl. Both girls meet boys whom they don't like at the beginning but afterwards fall in love with them. Both of the stories have magic in it and the girl plays an important role. :3

Prétear and Shugo Chara are two magical girl series with a protagonist who has similar levels of "toughness" (Himeno's self-defense abilities and Amu's self-perception), bright warm-colored hair, and a situation where they end up being with several others who have knowledge and abilities of the magic in their respective series (some of which are boys). There is also good artwork and some romance in both series.
