Both are about ugly girls (ito society's standards) using makeup to become pretty and features a makeup contest. This inevitably opens up opportunities for the mangas to comment on the makeup industry and 'beauty'. True Beauty had a crisper style. It also commented less on controversial topics in comparison to Makeup Remover. The MC of True Beauty is the makeup artist which is not the case in Makeup Remover. While both showcased really cool looks, True Beauty's looks remained pretty while Makeup Remover featured a few less conventionally pretty looks.

Both have as their central theme the passion for the art of makeup. In both there is an attractive blond male character, already started in the world of fashion, passionate about make up who for one reason or another have as a model a student who no one would have ever imagined as a model. In Bless she is an introvert tall girl with a face dotted with freckles, in The Makeup Remover she is a slightly scruffy university student who has never cared much about taking care of her physical appearance. Blah blah beauty standards and makeup, Kosane is really good, and if you like this and the author's other works, I very much recommend Kosane.

Both of these webtoons possess stellar art and cover topics ranging from corrupt beauty standards (makeup remover) to questioning how human treat other species (mystical) in a respectful and professional manner that isn't black or white but shades of grey.
