While the gender of authors doesn’t matter in either way or demographic, I have always been fascinated about female mangaka who have managed to weave incredible stories among male competitors in the Shounen genre. And most of them have been very successful regardless of reader demographics. So I wanted to create a list of works for that reason. Every manga covered by the Mangasplaining podcast in Season 2. Episode 37 covered Moto Hagio's A Drunken Dream and Other Stories, a compilation volume of one-shots. Episode 48 covered The Blood Red Boy by Minami Q-ta. I may not finish this list but I just wanted to make it. It would be interesting to see who has read all or most of Takahashi work. Will update with new additions and/or dropped titles. Always looking for new recommendations! "It's not a matter of good or evil; it's simply not possible to do it any other way." Shounen Sunday is one of 3 major Weekly Shounen Manga Magazines *Jump, Magazine and Sunday*. This magazine always delivers solid manga series. If something like Kamisama Kiss is 100% focused on romance, and something like One Piece is 0% focused on romance, these would be in the 20–45% range. Some general points to keep in mind: Saudade is an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for a beloved yet absent something or someone. It derives from the Latin word for solitude. It is often associated with a repressed understanding that one might never encounter the object of longing ever again. It is a recollection of feelings, experiences, places, or events, often elusive, that cause a sense of separation from the exciting, pleasant, or joyous sensations they once caused. |
