throughout the story both the art and storytelling transform which brings the reading in on the journey. the artist is very good at conveying mood with the art. the story develops from the average school fight manga (past few dozen chapters the school hasn't even been related) so it can be difficult depending on what you are going in for. The main character goes through a drastic change at a point in the story. that's when everything changes.

the beginning and most recent parts of this manwah are unrecognizable with each other. they'd sooner be assumed to be different stories from different artists. so it can ... be difficult to rate this. if you want intense grueling fights that have stellar art and a character that you can't look away from. and development aplenty you'll like the second half. if you like fun school comedy about a kid growing and becoming stronger with some action you'll like the first half. its worth the read no matter what you want. The art in the last few chapters are worth the read alone.

After seeing some TikTok's I decided to dive in and read up in a day. Would I do I again? Probably not.

While the story is very broad and attempts to have several stories, ultimately, for me, many of them fell flat, not that they were terrible. The earlier chapters do a lot of heavy lifting to parts of the story I enjoyed reading, but after chapter 70, we start going in a very dark and unhinged direction which wasn't what I was looking for and might turn others off. For example, over time, the main character into a relentless psychopath, which perhaps was only ... a turn of a leaf away but still caught me off guard.

I grew disinterested in the secondary characters and the story's direction, but the artist has overwhelming talent. They show two sides of totally different art styles and sometimes meld between more than one style in a single chapter; the visuals, as brutal or adorable as they are, are the most substantial parts for me and keep me going between boredom and horror. The fights were beautiful, and even in those moments of horror, I had to see what would happen. Like a car crash, I wanted to look away, but couldn't.

If you enjoy the early chapters, mainly 1-30s/40s, be aware that things go very different later on, the later chapters still have a lot to offer, and things get real different once you hit the later chapters, I hate to stress this but I walked in expecting one story which has gone into something that not everyone will love but if you get deep enough into the story it's worth catching up as there are some great moments, even if for me they started to be come more few and far between the chapters.

Really bad.

The martial arts were not very well researched, the tone was all over the place, the pacing was off, and the characters just change on a dime for no reason.

The main character randomly stops being the main character at points and the motivation of his missing sister just gets forgotten about for long stretches of time until the writer needs to remind you what the main character's motivations or if there needs to be a contrived reason for him to get angry and power up mid fight or whatever. there's never a good explanation of how the fuck Maria could possibly help ... find his sister anyway, the main character never even presses her about it or asks for any evidence

The story isn't grounded at all. It goes from real fighting techniques to insane made up bullshit on the fly.

The story also totally loses focus and goes off on a million b plots that I had zero reason to care about so they felt like a total slog to get through. The same can be said of the tone. It cant seem to decide on what it wants to be, sometimes it feels like it wants to be kengan, or Shamo and other times it feels like it wants to be my hero academia.

It just ended up being an exhausting, annoying mess that I pushed myself to read through.

Dont waste your time on this one.
