Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa is a Mature, Gender Bender, Ecchi, Romantic, Comedy about a Hiromi (girl) who is excited about her cousin Mako (boy?), who is going to be living with her to attend high school. However she is shocked to discover Mako is a hermaphrodite. ^_^
I would say the story is just your usual high school Rom/Com but the issue surrounding Mako makes this anything but an ordinary manga. This may be the first time most of us have come across a gender bender, with such a real life concept, which makes it so fascinating to read. In the beginning each chapter basically

Who doesn't like hermaphrodites? Probably a lot of people, but that's beside the point.
Hello and welcome to the "Sometimes I Really Question Why I Finished Reading This" segment, where the answer is almost always "Curiosity Killed The Cat". I like reading weird shit. It's almost always bad in an entertaining way. Sometimes it's not. Enter Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa, where it's just bad. Spoiler warning? The twists are so left field not even Nostradamus could hope to see them coming... Enter cousins Hiromi (not a hermaphrodite) and Makoto (a hermaphrodite). They have everyday problems, such as boys, the school lesbian, periods, and making sure Makoto doesn't pop a ... Aug 28, 2010
This is my first review so bear with me.
I didn't hate it but there was a lot left to be desired. The art was about the only redeeming thing in this whole manga. The story (especially the ending), was so contrived, it felt the ending was a part of a whole different manga. The character development was poor and it just was a waste of time. If you want to read a better quality gender bender about a half guy, half girl (though in a different way), you should read After School Nightmare. It has the sci-fi aspect of this manga; the character development and the ... Oct 27, 2015
"Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa" is an ecchi comedy manga that really feels more like fan service for people who enjoy gender bending stories. I don't feel any need to criticize the themes, but I will say that in many cases the characters come off quite shallow. For instance, wile I certainly expect teenagers to be obsessed with sex, neither of the two main leads seem to have any sort of emotional baggage that goes along with these feelings and that alone feels very unnatural.
The plot line itself is fairly nonsensical - starting off as "slice of life" comedy, but then changing about half ... Aug 6, 2016
I think people are a little overly harsh on this short series. I think maybe people are a little closed minded when it comes to sexual situations like this. But I found it fun and interesting. I really liked Makoto's personally and I enjoyed her journey, discovering herself. Although I do feel the end was a little rushed, overall I liked it and wished it was longer when I finished it. That's how I rate things, if it ends and I'm sad there's not more then it's good in my book.
Give it a try and don't take it too seriously, it's just entertainment after ... May 27, 2018
This manga started off well but by the end, it lost all of its wonder.
The main character is a futanari that happens to have both a penis and a vagina. She starts to live with her cousin and her aunt. It's a simple story with what should be a complex character. However, the thing that sucks about is everything happens so quickly and not in a good way. So I find fault in the pacing of the manga and depth of characters. Not a lot of the central characters were fleshed out to me. The cousin of the m.c. felt empty besides what she ... Dec 29, 2020
This is an ecchi series that follows a girl who has to deal with her cousin moving in with her and her mom. The twist is that cousin is a hermaphrodite/futanari and there's a twist on that later on when they explain why it is she was born as a futanari. Thankfully they don't try to pair the two main leads together............but there's still some easy to forget moments of Alabamaness splashed in. Twords the end it can be hard to read through with other elements they try to add for some forced tension. But it is mostly fan service. There's nothing bad in this

I wanted to like this, it's weird, unique, and I doubt I'll read something like this again, however, Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa tried to do too many things at once.
The art is decent, it's nothing to write home about, character expressions are well developed, but sometimes it was hard to know which character was which at times. There were quite a few places where the main characters and most supporting characters were in a scene, and it was near impossible to figure out which was which. The design for Makoto was really good though. The overall character design is lacking, there are just way ... Aug 9, 2022
I'm only writing this because of how annoyed I am with the ending. The premise of this manga is that the main girl is a futanari, with a penis and a vagina, who has to navigate normal teenage girl problems. Also there are people who want to kidnap her and a wild twist at the end, but none of that's relevant until the second half of the manga. If you don't like that premise, don't read this. If you do like that premise, this story is about as bad as it could be with that premise and with that twist. The plot is a hot
