I'm Not Afraid of the Wolf!
This is essentially a story about a guy whose a wolf. I mean there honestly is very little meat to these bones, and maybe you can find some similarity to Yusuke and Keiko here, but even that is thin and more a visual resemblance. Honestly a lack luster story.
Occult Detective Group
This story is far more meaty, and reminds me a lot of how Jujutsu Kaisen begins, with the occult investigation club stuff. There is a girl who looks and acts a lot like a Botan, but interestingly the other two members of the group are characters I really haven't

seen in a Togashi work, showing how versatile he really was (or how boring these characters are if you prefer). The story is pretty heartwarming, but not really surprising with anything keeping you on the edge.
Horror Angel
Fun premise, and shows the darker side of Togashi that the previous stories don't really tough on at all. More interesting twists than the previous story as well, although the characters themselves are not really that engaging or interesting. It's okay as a one-shot, but realistically that's all this story should be, and that's okay.
Tonda Birthday Present
This story is essentially like Yusuke and Keiko, and is filled with a lot of Togashi's romantic, more shoujo vibes that he's always laced throughout his works. Togashi additionally includes a reference to dragon quest, and what feels like an early rendition of the Greed Island arc of HxH. Lots of science themes going on here, which breaks from Yu Yu Hakusho's fully "ghost stories" vibe. It also significantly predates .hack, or Sword Art Online, confirming an early hypothesis that Togashi is essentially THE pioneer of the "transported into a game world" genre, something often overlooked.
Buttobi Straight
This story won a Tezuka contestant award, and that's something I want to put upfront because I think it provides context for people who think the sky is unreachable. This story was totally boring.
