I see this still hasn't been fixed to note the true number of chapters in this work. I've actually read up to chapter 42, for the record.
Anyway, I liked this manga a lot, because gay monster girls are a rarity, but I have to admit it's not good. It's just that everything with gay monster girls I've seen so far has been an open trash fire, and this is relatively normal shoujo ai, so it looks amazing by comparison.
Art 6/10
Good enough, but kind of basic. There's more shading later on, but it's hard to say the art has improved over the course of the manga.
...
The characters are consistently on-model, if that helps, it's just that the lineart is very basic. Nothing to complain about, but nothing exceptional either.
Character 5/10
Heath and Lily are... cute. They're sickeningly cute, and it's quite enjoyable to watch them, even if Lily's name (Lily Blind, literally 'blind yuri') makes me unreasonably angry. They have some basic personality traits, and they bounce off each other nicely, and that's... basically them. It's wholesome, and nothing bad ever happens. Most of the other characters are bland, but inoffensive, and I have difficulty remembering their names or faces, as it's been a little while since I read this. That's probably not a good sign for their personalities.
Story 5/10
Did I mention that nothing bad ever happens? Heath is a monster. A (admittedly adorable) chimera of lizard and something furry with rounded ears. It's mentioned more than once that people hate her for it, but the problem is, they do not. She's treated pretty much normally, in a way that causes no end of problems for my suspension of disbelief. The side characters are WAY too accepting, in other words. Other than that, the romance is handled nicely, and neither of them is pushy or toxic, even if they do occasionally argue. There's not an awful lot of plot besides their relationship, and their relationship is very cute and fluffy, and there's little in the way of conflict, so... it's standard shoujo ai. That's pretty much all I can say about it.
Enjoyment 8/10
Despite the above... I liked it. I have no real desire to re-read it, but it was nice. Nobody was screwing their own mother, or twin, or was a literal child, and nobody decided raping their crush was a great idea. It wasn't ridiculous, poorly written, over the top ecchi for dudes to 'enjoy'. It was legitimately gay, and not in that irritating 'only if it's you' way, where nobody ever admits that they're gay. Thumbs up.
Overall 6/10
It's cute, wholesome and fluffy, but it's not Shakespeare. I enjoyed it, nonetheless. Though I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't drop it in a heartbeat if someone did a gay Beauty and the Beast manga with some actual conflict and stakes.
