This is ok! The initial concept of the series is cute and senpai is a very pretty character but over the course of the series the plot is pretty predictable and insular and the characters are a bit flat and annoying.
Story: The story is basic and very self-contained in the cafe space the characters work at. Not my cup of tea (cup of coffee, more like) but maybe if you like a Friends-type setup you'll like this. As a result, the stakes feel fairly low and unrealistic. Why don't any of these characters have any real lives or interests outside of their work and

I'm really suprised to not see another review about this so far... Maybe I stumbled across a hidden gold mine?
Let's just say I really like this manga so far! I've read up to the most recent chapter which is 48 and honestly can't wait for the next one! The Art and story are very enjoyable and I actually really like how it's all structured and set out. I have barely seen art like this and am really enjoying it. The characters are pretty likable too, you have the young guy who is coming into basically this whole new world and learning new things has ... Jul 23, 2020
When I first heard of this manga, I honestly was not expecting all that much from it. I thought it would just be another take on a senpai x kouhai, but I was seriously wrong.
Cigarette and Cherry is one of the few mangas that makes me feel completely invested when I read it, and that's represented by the strong bond that is created to well developed characters. Each person in the story has their own quirks, and their flow with each other is seamless and graceful, making the overall experience that much better. Not only was it filled with a ton of light hearted jokes ... Aug 30, 2020
Okay this will be my first review since i noticed that this specific manga doesnt have too many.
I ain't one picky guy and I like my stuff wholesome and not too slow (most of the times) and with that bit of info i can say that i pretty much loved this one. The MC is a bit of a brat but the way he acts is totally understandable if you think about his life. FMC is cold but she shows her emotions. There are some flaws here and there but its totally forgivable. The art is pretty neat but it can get weird at ... Apr 30, 2023
Overall enjoyment: 8/10
Story: 6/10 Graphics and style: 9/10 WOW! Characters: 7/10 I would definitely recommend this manga if you currently have an itch for romance, comedy, and drama that you want scratched in your brain! The story revolves around the relationship between a junior and his senpai blossoming from cohorts, to dating, and through their drama. In terms of the story, it's fairly straight forward; I wouldn't call it a unique storyline. Kouhai is a desperate college freshman that desires a girlfriend and meets senpai, a cool woman smoking by an isolated ash tray. The story subsequently evolves into being closer together through their jobs, going on trips, ... Jan 4, 2023
Human relationships are complicated.
The manga shows them from an unique angle, where although timid one is extremely eager to always do something, while the other acts calm, sometimes even cold i'd say, but one ends up falling for the other. Unlike your average romance things actually happen, and it shows us how the perks of adult life, work, college and such meddles in our love life, sometimes even ourselves and how we are used to leave some things unsaid. The art is not really something else but it's extremely on point and helps to tell the story. Characters are unique and each have their own ... |
