Synopsis

Ion Tsuburagi has always believed that her "jinx"—chanting the letters in her name—brings her good luck when she needs it. While running away from one of many attempts by the student council president to make her his girlfriend, Ion falls into the arms of Mikado Hourai—the president of the school's unofficial Psychic Powers Research Club.

Naively falling in love with him after learning about his childhood dream, Ion finds herself joining Mikado in his psychic research endeavors, whereupon she stumbles across an object he was experimenting on—a strange, deep blue stone. When she picks it up, the stone shocks her; she instinctively chants her jinx, and as a result, flies up into the sky! Believing the object to be lost, Mikado decides to continue his research efforts nonetheless, using Ion as his test subject in its place!

Mixed Feelings
This short story was actually Arina Tanemura’s first full length manga. It’s a cute short story about a girl, with a special good luck charm, falling in love with a boy while attaining even more telekinetic powers. Is this any more realistic than her other manga, or the manga that’s to be? Sure; it has a mix of science and the supernatural so something like this could happen.

The art in this manga is iconic and it’s what Tanemura’s known for – big eyes, detailed hair, and the same face & personality. You see, Tanemura hadn’t really deviated from the looks she gave her other characters. ...

I found this manga in a thrift store and brought it home due to liking the cover.
I didn’t expect much of it besides being a nice romance plot and the story turned out to be mediocre. The characters, especially the female lead, are one-dimensional, and their motives are superficial to non-existent.
I am writing this review a week after I finished the manga, and I can hardly remember anything specific. There just isn't much substance.

The detailed art style often makes the manga pages seem busy. The anatomy also seemed strange in some scenes, but otherwise it was ok.

You can read the manga if you like ...
