Shuumatsu no Walküre has one of the best premises I've ever seen!

I started reading the work before the anime came out and I simply liked it a lot because of its initial idea of ​​"Humans VS Gods" which is something I don't remember having seen before, at least not as the main proposal of a work.

I think the style in which the story is told is very good, where the fight begins and then goes on to tell the story of X god or X human, so that we become attached to one of the sides during the fight. However, this decision of which side ... to choose sometimes becomes difficult because the human doesn't always have/have the best of lives or the best of intentions and the same goes for the gods, this duality of which side we as a reader should be on is something very well written.

All the fights I've seen so far are stuck in this concept I mentioned before, with only one exception that I found weak, which was the fight between Leonidas and Apollo, where Leonidas' character was really poorly developed, he was not very charismatic, his design was crude and the story about him was really silly.

Anyway, this work has a lot of good points and I think it's incredible how the author manages to mix so many religions, mythologies and famous people in one work. Obviously, because there is so much mixing of lore there will always be some that are bad for someone who is reading it, but there is no way to avoid that.

My overall score was 8, as was the majority of the readers of the work, and I think that this is a very fair score for this work, because it is very good, but it is far from being something that shocks a generation like some of the great Shounen/Seinen out there.

Shuumatsu no Walküre tem uma das melhores premissas que ja vi!

Comecei a ler a obra antes de sair o anime e simplesmente gostei muito dela pela sua ideia inicial de "Humanos VS Deuses" que é algo que não me recordo de ter visto antes, ao menos não como a proposta principal de uma obra.

O estilo que a historia é contata eu acho muito boa onde começa a luta e depois vai contando a historia de X deus ou de X humano pois assim vamos nos apegando a um dos lados durante a luta, porem, essa decisão de qual lado escolher as vezes se torna difícil pois nem sempre o humano teve/tem a melhor das vidas ou a melhor das intenções e o mesmo vale aos deuses, essa dualidade de que lado ficarmos como leitor é algo muito bem escrito.

Todas as lutas que vi até o momento ficam presas nesse conceito que citei antes, apenas uma em exceção que achei fraca que foi a luta do Leonidas VS Apollo que realmente o personagem do Leonidas foi muito mal trabalhado, ele ficou pouco carismático, designe tosco e historia bem boba sobre ele.

De toda forma essa obra tem muito pontos bons e acho incrível como o autor consegue misturar tantas religiões, mitologias e pessoas famosas em uma obra só, obviamente por ter muita mistura de lores vai sempre ter alguma que fica de um jeito ruim para alguem que esta lendo mas isso não tem muito como evitar.

Minha nota geral foi 8 assim como a maioria dos leitores da obra e acho que essa é uma nota bem justa pra essa obra pois ela é muito boa mas esta longe de ser algo que choque uma geração como algum dos grandes Shounen/Seinen por ai.

The manga is, at most, okay. The power dynamics are cool and there are really interesting ideas. Some fights are cool (like the fight with Jack The Ripper, which is different from the others), but there are some tedious and more-of-the-same fights (like the Hades fight): that's why I dropped it.

I really don't like how the gods were written. Some of them should be really powerful according to the mythology, but in the series they are just average, like Ares (goofy god who, apparently, doesn't understand about fights?). The manga also creates stories and even a new god to explain its lore, so it's not ... "mythological accurate" - so don't take it too seriously.

On the human's side, the backstories are okay, but very over the top, and they have powers. I got to know some (kinda...) historical humans, like Lu Bu, which is cool!

In the end, it's not a masterpiece, but fun to read if you like to see men (and only men) fighting.

Pros:
+ Some of the fights are pretty decent if you ignore the whole premise and just imagine they are two superhumans facing off.
+ Incredibly detailed artwork fitting for an action manga. (though I'm not a fan of character's expressions)

Cons:
-The story isn't even worth thinking about as it's just a means for the tournament style fights
- Awful representation of gods/demi gods from various Mythos and real historical figures completely butchering their backstories & personalities.
- Pathetic abilities given to the so called gods in the series, not even having powers related to their domain.
It feels like the writer had to nerf the gods that much to even ... give the human side a sliver of a chance
- Fight scenes constantly interrupted by character's narrating their poorly written backstories (Buddha for example) or the crowd piping in throughout the fights.
- This manga can often times be over the top edgy especially in regards to the dialogue as a lot of the deities talk like wannabe thugs and overuse profanities in a way that seems unnatural.
