As far as wish fulfillment isekai go, Shinka No Mi definitely sticks out; I might even say it does so in a good way.
Starting off with what is done well, the story is a lot of fun. The characters are wacky and I'll give the author props for making the main girl a literal gorilla. The mc is fat (for a bit), a... donkey I think? joins up with them. The animals do have human forms but also regularly swap back to look like beasts, often enough that it doesn't feel like the author is trying to get you to forget that they're actually ... animals. That alone is a lot of fun. How the main character's "OP cheat skills" manifest is pretty enjoyable too and it doesn't feel like JUST video game skills. You can tell that the author is having a good time with them at the very least. Beyond that? Well. That's about all I can really praise it for. Just those two things carried the series for 30 or so chapters, unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

The manga really tries to do too much. I could talk about how the art is kind of gross, how the plot is background noise at best, or how the action is as lame and dry as an old horse in the desert; but I'd rather focus on how the series steps on it's own toes. The thing about having good characters is that they can only carry your story if you let them. Shinka No Mi keeps adding more and more new characters that keep trying to take away the spotlight. But the problem is that they already hit their mark! The newer additions to the cast are bog standard boring at best. This would be fine if they were tertiary but they're fucking worming their way into the main cast! I want to smack the author with a broom. As the amount of characters added rises, the quality of those characters drops too. Having shitty characters bloating your story is bad enough, but then you start involving them in the plot?? Come on now. The plot has always been stupid but it didn't really matter because it wasn't what I was there for. Newer characters are all comically evil, comically stupid, or comically weird. I use the word comically with a lot less humor than I usually intend. If played right the comically evil could be actually funny, threatening, or otherwise entertaining. The comically stupid would be more comfortable in a bad gag manga but could serve to lighten the tone or break up the important scenes if used well. The comically weird could easily be charming or genuinely interesting.

But the ball gets dropped every time. I think the first 20 or so chapters are probably worth a read if only because it's quick, maybe some of the anime? Hard to say since I haven't watched it; maybe they fix some of the art problems. This could've been a solid 7 all around, maybe an 8 on a good day. As it is tho? My 5 is a generous memorial to a strong start.

I will start by saying I enjoyed this series but that doesn't change the fact that I have problems with it as a whole.

Standard wish fulfillment fantasy as its most ridiculous and garish. An isekai whose only gimmick is lost after the fifth chapter and relies on the standard OP main character in a world that relies on the RPG magic system so common nowadays. But what the series lacks in strong or original storytelling it makes up for in comedic relief and cartoonish satire that you can't help but laugh at. The art and expressions are this series saving grace. It doesn't take ... itself seriously and expects the reader to laugh along while enjoy the ride.
The MC, while lacking many of the usual "heroic" qualities or charm that one would expect from this type of series, is self aware to understand that his powers push him further and further from his own humanity which causes no end to the comedic relief. The side characters aren't nearly impressive, I'm afraid. The gorilla character seen on the cover loses all agency and personality after her transformation into human eye candy (also seen on the cover). The same is true for the rest of the female companions that join the MC. Any personality they once had is sucked dry after the MC wins their hearts which is quite problematic for a story whose plot lacks any nuance, creativity, or originality. The remainder of the cast could best be described as manic caricatures who only exist for easy laughs and briefly antagonize the MC.
The demons who are cast as the antagonists of the story are more sensible and relatable than the human characters and rightly so if you take into account the theme of the series. Unfortunately the brief instances they are either mentioned or shown are quickly cast aside to return to the MC's continuing antics.

While the series is enjoyable for some lazy afternoon reading, it does nothing to separate or standout from the rest of the wish-fullment isekai sub-genre aside from its cartoonish art style and jokes.
