Synopsis

Hajime Aono used to live for the sound of his violin playing. Ever since he was young, he had admired his world-renowned violinist father, who inspired him to pick up the instrument himself. But following his parents' bitter divorce, Aono swears to never play again and heads for high school without a direction or a prospect.

During a physical education class, the unathletic Aono gets struck in the face with a ball and ends up in the infirmary. There, he meets the brash Ritsuko Akine who begins to play the violin in the room, believing she is alone. However, following a past incident, there have been rumors claiming that Akine is a bully, which has isolated her from her peers—a fact Aono was unaware of.

Akine dreams of enrolling in a school with an orchestra, but her amateurish playing and lack of musical knowledge grates on Aono immensely. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity for the two to become friends, their teacher suggests that Aono teaches Akine how to play the violin, something Aono is vehemently against. However, as the pair spends more time together, they soon learn to understand and help each other—and Aono may finally discover the lost passion and melody in his life.

Out of all the music genre manga, Ao no Orchestra is one of the best I have read so far.
Ao no Orchestra is a story that revolves around the main character, Aono who is a violinist prodigy. However, due to family circumstances, he quits playing the violin.
Aono meets Akine who reignites his passion for music and violin. Both join a high school orchestra where they display their talents and hard work.

As you continue to read, the drama just gets better. The story's drama and music makes the manga more amazing. I read this for the music, but stayed for the drama. Its actually ...

It’s my first review so....

Anyways in overall if you liked shigatsu wa kimo no uso, then you would probably like it. Also goes for whoever that likes music anime/manga. The plots somewhat different and similar at the same time.

For example both protagonists start out as a character who quitted whatever they were playing(arima- piano, aono- violin)

Also I think ao no orchestra has more interactions with more characters, so you can also see experiences of other characters not just the main protagonist

It’s a pretty good manga. I would recommend it. The art is really good too. Depending on the situation, the art is either rough ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (5/? eps)
This manga is fine, but it is not propulsive dramatically. we don't know well what motivates the mc, he kind of just goes with the flow of the story. he does not make decisions, so the story just passes by. there is nothing major to resolve, so it just goes forward, burning through so many setups with no real development or payoff.

The art is fine, i wish the writing allowed for more expressive scenes, there is talent in the art side that i'd want to see expanded upon.

Overall, this manga is fine. not the worst read, but it just seems like there are many squandered ...
