Ragna Crimson is an amazing manga, I never wrote a review before even though I've seen lots anime/manga, but felt I had to due to how great this manga is but sadly doesn't have that many readers. [I'll try my hardest not to spoil]

Story-9
The story at first seemed pretty normal with the cliche main character is weak and wants to get stronger to beat the bad guys and protect his friends. In the first chapter however that idea completely changes and the manga starts its own unique path. The main character basically ends up getting some powerup but it comes with a price- his ... body isn't adjusted enough to properly use it. The story is interesting and way better than most, I can't say much since currently theirs only about 16 translated chapters and I don't want to spoil such a great story in any way.

Art-10
The art would clearly be an easy 10, most of the time the arts a 9.5 being much nicer and beautiful than other manga, but than every few pages, it shows a beautiful carefully made work of art that I would give 12/10 if I could.

Character-7
Theirs only 2 main characters being Ragna and Crimson [As the manga name suggests] with some side characters who serve crimson, the side characters are pretty simple but still have their good qualities- cant be well explained due to only being around for like 4 chapters.
Ragnas pretty shy but knows when its time to fight and wont hesitate the slightest bit. Ragnas thoughts and reasons for fighting are clearly and nicely shown when he has to make a choice that will either protect or hurt the one he holds dear.
Crimson is just crazy it looks like he/she is crazy and will do whatever it takes to accomplish her goal of killing ALL DRAGONS.

Enjoyment/Overall-10
Absolutely amazing, I don't see a single problem with this manga besides the low amount of chapters, I was both surprised and disappointed when I saw how low the readers were on this, I can't believe how lucky I am to have just found this manga. I hope you also read and enjoy it.

Characters ~ Interesting, Well Designed, Contributive to the story, Supporting characters still get shine, no character seems over or underused, they serve their purposes, provide development for each other, no characters feel like they've overstayed their welcome.

Story ~ As a lot of other reviewers mentioned the first chap makes it feel as it might be another cliché overpowered mc manga, rather than just that though the first chap offers a very intriguing and unique twist to it, although the mc is granted much power, (I won't tell you where from, you can see in the first chap) the ... power didn't serve its purpose the first time around, this second time even though it feels very strong at the beginning the mc actually can't even use it to its full potential even by chapter 61 of the manga hence stakes are still prevalent meaning you shouldn't worry about him being to strong and it being another straightforward one shot all the villains Shonen manga. Other than that the story and worldbuilding setup is explained well and made to pull you in and those it nicely, the pacing isn't bad whatsoever, and the Mc going through his trauma and adjusting to trying to live up to his own expectations (you'll understand what I mean when you read chap 1) makes for a very vivid and hard to predict story.

Fights ~ So obviously its a Shonen manga, but honestly lots of Shonen manga recently have been really creative with their fights and they seem to be progressively getting better, recent series like Sakamoto Days, One Punch Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsawman, Hells Paradise, etc. Have felt really unique with their fights and the fights in this manga I feel continue the trend.

Arcs ~ The first 56 chaps you can really consider it a saga with the arcs within it all connecting to the saga's main goal, after this first 56 chapters arc/saga people thought the story was coming to the end. That should tell you on its own how much was felt in those 56 chaps. The setup for this next arc that's started up these 5 chaps after chap 56 (61) has been really good and you will be able to see we have much to go in the world of Ragna Crimson which makes it feel like it could last 2 more sagas.

Pages ~ This manga is 61 chapters currently but its actually very long, if you were to condense these 61 chapters to 20 pages each, I feel like the manga could easily be 150+ chaps. This is a very good thing there much content to be read in Ragna Crimson and the page amounts for some chapters feel so fulfilling, the first chap of Ragna Crimson is even 96 pages.

Art ~ The manga has a unique art style and paneling and it knows when to go all out for a meaningful panel, the art is very consistent. The Volume Covers are very nice, the occasional chapter color panels we get are also very smooth and well done.

Enjoyment ~ I caught up within a week or two, as I said its a longer manga than it seems, their is very comedic aspects, and you end up feeling for the characters and their struggles, you get attached to it so you'll probably catch up pretty quickly as well.

All in All, I hope you do choose to try it out, would love to see the community grow, and once you finish slide over to the Reddit the community we have their now is pretty amazing and the fanart they produce is really high quality it be surprising me sometimes lmao.🙏Hope to see you their, If you started reading from this review let me know cause that's really dope 😂

I stumbled upon this manga when the anime trailer popped onto my recommendation feed on Youtube prompting me to give the manga a try, I can happily say that I was pleasantly surprised. Crimson Ragna is a fantasy manga, that plot while generic being the standard main character wants to grow stronger and kill the bad entities in this case dragons yadayada is done in an engaging way.

Many stories similar to this one often struggle to be taken seriously the further it progresses, especially when they bestow the main character with some overpowered ability in one way or another, but the ... pacing and characters (especially the villains later down the road) have enough depth and actual comedic moments for one to have a good time and not feel as if it's just some fella's self insert over powered daydream.

The art is solid and at times especially in the battle scenes absolutely gorgeous. As characters go Crimson is by far the most entertaining of the bunch, and while a lot of the characters feel flat and 2D at times the constant action and story are enough to cover for its weaker aspects.

As for it's weaker aspects one definitely has to be that it feels like the author whether too afraid or simply didn't have the creativity left decided to make the storyline so so contradictory to it's original premise in the first few chapters, throwing away a lot of what gave it originality. Opting instead for a plot that feels like the standard hero gets a cool gimmick superpower and then saves humanity that comes a dime a dozen. The only redeeming factor is that Crimson makes the journey bearable with their hilarious commentary and chemistry with all the characters in the story, allowing you to ignore some of the manga's faults long enough to get you to the spectacular battles and high points before dropping down and becoming generic again.

In summary for those who enjoy the fantasy/isekai(note this story is not an isekai) genre you should definitely give this story a try, but if you aren't already a fan of the medium no one will blame you for passing on this story.

I am writing this review when Ragna crimson had 19 chapters and I don't know future chapters until chapter 19 I enjoyed it
I liked the manga and finished it in about 1 hour and didn't like the fact that this manga don't have enough viewers and don't have many chapters
action scenes are great
story is cliché at first but it good

Ragna is weak Leon is strong they fight dragons together and one day when ragna is training at night outside his future self comes and tells him about the future about Leo's death and about high class dragon invasion on the kingdom so present Ragna demands the Future self power so future pierce present self with silver sword and gives him his power and fades and then dragon names crimson approaches dead body of future Ragna and whispers I am expecting much from past me and you

It's a shonen manga with an action/RPG mix and a western-themed world set in the Middle Ages. The protagonist relationship between Criman and Ragna reminds me of Vanitas and Noe, who like to bicker back and forth.

The artwork is amazing and Crimson is drawn in a very sexy way. which is comparable to Vanitas.

Overall, I quite like the story but it's a shame that Leonika, the best girl in the series, doesn't get much of a role , although the story is similar to a typical shonen manga where the protagonist searches for strength, But I think the fun lies more in ... the interaction dynamic between Crimson and Ragna.

It's a battle between existences standing at the top of the world which only gets better as the series goes on. Ragna Crimson is treated as a hidden masterpiece by its Japanese and Korean readership, but has comparatively low recognition and sales by volume, so I'm doing my part to spread the word about an underrated series.

Story: 8/10

It puts a twist on the fairly common premise of 'returning to the past with future knowledge/powers in order to save the world', i.e. the second chance genre which is so prevalent today. However, this alone is ... only a tenth of what makes the story so good.

Ragna Crimson treats all of its characters with respect and is unafraid to craft unavoidable, yet meaningful deaths. It avoids the skill-collecting, system, and grinding tropes found in most similar works, and instead focuses on action with a dash of human connection.

You can think of it as a kind of makjang version of Kimetsu no Yaiba: the dragons are fiercely loyal to their king but become humans at the end of their lives, except a lot more is going on in each arc and predicting where a battle is headed is simply impossible.

The themes of returning from the future and of hunting dragons are admittedly weak, but the theme of meeting and parting is well-done. So it takes a while to get there, but if you can ride out the early chapters then you're in for a treat.

Art: 8/10

One of the highlights of the manga lies in character designs, and another lies in action scenes. Later in the series, the action becomes so appreciable that fans can't help but drool over what it would look like if it were animated by ufotable - when the main character goes nuclear, it's that good.

Admittedly, the artstyle also isn't for everyone; some angles for certain characters look a lot worse than others, and there's generally a sense that many features appear overly sharp. Backgrounds aren't particularly inspired, and the mangaka often leaves them out. But how many mangaka do you know who've ever produced chapters 50 pages long which are zero dialogue and full action? Ragna Crimson is a seriously exciting action manga where victory and defeat aren't ever close to predictable.

Characters: 8/10

The series follows two main characters with a solid supporting cast, and throughout the story the antagonists develop as characters due to the main character's actions. However, describing their transformation would be spoilers, so I'll just mention a few.

In all honesty, the main character isn't particularly the most interesting character. His turmoil originates from events which haven't yet happened, reducing relatability to his motivations and personality a lot. From most points of view he's nothing special. He does experience character growth later in the series, but this is primarily a reflection of how much more interesting the other characters are.

The second main character, Crimson, is an embodiment of chaos, evil, and destruction - and he/she/they are a protagonist. Rather than fighting dragons alongside humanity, or fighting dragons for humanity, Crimson is more about expending humanity as a resource to hunt dragons. Their outlandish plots and schemes within schemes are pure entertainment, especially when everything goes wrong. Crimson is one of the main appeals of the second half of the manga so far, and the most likely one to hook you.

Finally, we come to one of the primary supporting characters - the Silverware Princess/Starlia Leese. Her character design, personality, and name are already top-tier, but it's actually what happens to her, and between her and the main character, which has made the third part of the manga so amazing. This character is the one responsible for developing the male lead into a human being rather than a weapon... but I'll stop here to avoid spoilers.

Enjoyment/Overall: 8/10

Ragna Crimson is seriously overlooked. It's a series which ramps up the further you read, and one of the only series where I can't help but follow raws. Incredibly, given the latest developments, I don't think it's even peaked yet.

The mangaka has a talent for tragedy and characterization, so I hope that this review does his work some justice.

I discovered in Ragna Crimson a fantasy story with dark overtones, full of brutal combat in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic world.
An exciting and entertaining read that knows how to engage the reader and give him or her moments of pure entertainment, without ever boring. Ragna and Crimson are each other's opposites, with the former coming across as an almost anti-hero vigilante, focused on revenge, but never falling into the "seen it all before" or banality. This is because of his feelings and his desire to protect and return to a smile with those he loves. Crimson, on the other hand, particularly surprised me because of how ... the mangaka, Kobayashi Daiki, was able to make him a kind of antagonist-hero, evil and manipulative,but not overly wicked.
Ragna Crimson evolves, chapter after chapter, into a dark, violent, vengeful and original story. Lovers of the genre will find in this manga a rare gem not to be missed.

Initially, the premise of "Ragna Crimson" is simple. A vengeful, powerful and cursed hero intent on exterminating the entire dragonic lineage. However, as I gradually read on, I was impressed and delighted by what this manga was able to cleverly show; starting with the phenomenal co-star, completely different from the protagonist. An evil, devious and manipulative being who will often make you wonder who the real enemy/antagonist of the series is. Many secondary characters are fun and diverse, including those who are introduced to us as the "villains" of the first story arc. One of the strengths of this series. Don't expect the classic enemies ... of the genre.
The drawings and paneling are good, but they are at their best from volume 3 onward, going on to evolve until they become decidedly spectacular. In particular, the quality of the drawings and paneling in volume 10 reaches incredible heights. A treat for the eyes.
I purchased "Ragna Crimson" in English/Japanese, up to volume 13, including the chapters that will be in volume 14

"Ragna Crimson" is the bare bones title for a bare bones manga.

STORY: 4/10. The story has been done before in far better fashion. It's just a story you've heard before executed again, but more poorly so.

ART: 2/10. I didn't actually think it was possible for me to dislike the art style of a manga so much, but yeah, the art style in this manga is unclean and ugly. The characters look ugly as hell and Ragna looks like an emo yoga instructor. The action scenes were confusing and cluttered as well, which is not good when "action" the genre of your manga.

CHARACTER: 3/10. As much ... as I love Leo, Ragna dragged this down so hard with his stupid, cliche, "oh I'm not strong enough to protect the one I love" act. This isn't helped when the manga solves the problem with a Time-Travelling-Self Ex Machina. Ugly MF with a pity-me-pls personality.

ENJOYMENT: 3/10. Sometimes you find yourself so bored that you accidentally end up reading 10 long chapters of a bullshit manga. Then a few days later, after reading a manga that doesn't suck shit, you realize that you wasted a lot of time in hopes that the experience will improve when It wasn't going to from the start.

OVERALL: 3/10. This manga was trying to pull some reverse-Re:Zero shit on the readers and it didn't work- not in the slightest. Save yourself the time and energy, don't read Ragna Crimson.
