Minor spoilers ahead. Possible?
This manga is so cuuute!
All the works from Yuki Shiraishi are wonderful, her characters are very pretty to look at and Honey Come Honey is no exception. The story is simple and adorable without a lot of drama (which I love).
The story revolves around Mitsu Hanasaki who transfers from a different school. On her first day she meets Yuuto Kumagaya, a tall scary-looking guy who everyone avoids because he's face seems angry and people associate him with a grizzly bear. But in fact he is a very kind and nice person (surprise, surprise), who makes cute accessories. The two start out
...
as friends but quickly realize they have feelings for each other.
Artwork:
Like I said, Yuki Shiraishi's style is very beautiful. This manga is a joy to look at.
Story:
This is a shoujo so obviously the male lead is perfect, he's caring, he loves Mitsu very much and would do anything to protect her. Female lead is petite, feminine (although she can fight quite well if she needs to defend herself) and beyond cute. It's cliche of course but that's why I love this type of genre. And I enjoyed the "steamy" moments between them. It felt quire realistic considering they are teenagers. And the fact that Kumagaya-kun is not so pure and doesn't miss an opportunity to be alone with Mitsu.
Characters:
The main characters are very likable and sweet!!! Couldn't help falling in love with both Mitsu and Kumagaya-kun. The relationship between them evolved in a very pleasant way.
I would say that the series doesn't really have any strong supporting characters, nothing noticeable.
Overall, I highly recommend this manga. It's a hidden gem. It will make you smile.
And if you can, please go buy it and support the artist. She deserves it!
