Synopsis

Takemichi Hanagaki's life is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it could not get worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals that has been disturbing society's peace for quite some time.

Wondering where it all went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself traveling through time, ending up 12 years in the past—when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing he has a chance to save her, Takemichi resolves to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and climb the ranks in order to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate.

Tokyo卍Revengers won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shounen category in 2020. The series ranked 12th in the 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Male Readers division. As of June 2024, over 80 million copies of the manga are in circulation.

The series was published digitally in English as Tokyo Revengers by Kodansha Comics USA from October 16, 2018, to June 13, 2023, and in print by Seven Seas Entertainment as 2-in-1 omnibus volumes since July 26, 2022. It was also released in French by Glénat Éditions from April 17, 2019, to July 3, 2024; in Polish by Waneko from August 12, 2021, to January 17, 2023; in Argentina by Editorial Ivrea since October 22, 2021; and in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC since July 7, 2022.

The series was adapted into three Japanese live-action films, stage plays, and video games.

Tokyo卍Revengers by Wakui Ken is a weekly action-packed manga dealing with things like gang culture and time traveling. Also, it focuses on typical shonen stuff such as friendship, trauma, perseverance and so on. However, every manga has its own flavor and so does it.

This is a very mixed bag for me... When I started I was in love with everything, I wasn't in it for the fights (they always kinda sucked), but I was for the drama. I did enjoy the fact that the main character wasn't strong, he was only somewhat smart and with a little help of future knowledge. However it all collapse with the last arc of the series, the Mikey part felt forced. started off as a very promising time adventure Shit itself at the end.
Just writing this to remind me how much this angers me, starting off with my favorite character baji what a way ruined the character the sacrifice he made and all planning he did meant absolutely shit at the end, all the things made me love this manga it ruined by the shit ass ending that doesn't even makes sense, I'm angry and would always remember this as the shitty ending rather than the good moments.
