Two manga in medieval settings, with brutal and therefore extremely gore black-and-white battles. When it comes down to it, the main characters are not wasting a single second killing their enemies. 

Experienced fighters who prefer being on their own, and are able to swiftly kill opponents. They don't show lots of emotions. <> Issak has more more intricate politics, Ookami wa Nemuranai is almost pure adventure. 

Both have a badass warrior protagonist on a quest for revenge. Also, both have realistic art styles. 

Both these manga are historical fiction. Their stories are interesting and still realistic. In Golden Kamuy, Sugimoto and Asirpa are searching for gold. There are lots of fights, cooking, surviving in post Meiji restoration period. It is a fun read. In Issak, we see a Japanese sniper guy in the 17th century in Europe. He plays a big role in the 30year war of the Holy Roman Empire. The plot is wild, but executed really really well. Both manga give great action sequences and strategies/war tactics. And they are fun with good art.
