The theme of both titles is similar, the main Heroine is a Tomboy & a very introverted girl who is involved in sports and are dealing with insecurities… their struggle to overcome their weaknesses (to be around the boy they like) with the help of friends & family. In both Manga, they attempt to improve themselves through the story... Minor differences: Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! - 4 koma style Saotome Senshu - Regular Manga style  

Both heroines are strong girls with zero knowledge of love. Focus around sporty things, and both mc have someone who support their love and teach them how to handle the loves. 

Both are romances between a tomboy that's into martial arts and a childhood friend who is also into said martial art. Tomo-chan is more of a comedy while Saotome is more focused on the story progression, but aside from that the differences are as surface-level as the fact that one is boxing and the other is karate. 

Main characters are in a secret relationship with low stakes. Main girl is a tall, soft-spoken athlete and main boy is a short, underdog type character. Relationship is fairly wholesome throughout both series with occasional fan-service moments. While Fujiyama-san is mostly slice of life, Saotome Senshu has more of a sport plot. Both can be finished in 1-3 days.
