DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ----------------------------------------    Pretty sick of those two brothers to think about their shougi instead of mourning their mother's death. Funny how Oota fell for our cute Shion-chan and underestimated her ^^. She's up next to quite a surprising character and maybe she's even going to lose. Looking forward to the next episode. |

| Shion was so cute as usual. Loved some of the faces she made. I really wanna see the next episode. A match between 2 child genuises sounds fun. |

| The big tournament has begun! So...let's see... Group A: Hisatani (Shion’s foster-brother) Shinji (Shion’s foster-father) Ayumi Group B: Hani-Meijin Ayumi’s shougi-teacher Saori Group C: Shion Satoru Very interesting, but eventually, they all have to play each other in the finals. With 4 episodes left, I wonder if they can squeeze this whole tournament and the answers about the mystery of Shion's parents in. But at the pace it's going at, I believe that Studio DEEN can do it. Best episode so far, this is really one of the gems of this season. |
| So the big Pro-Am tournament has finally begun! So far it seems to be going well, although I'm looking forward to Shion's next match with that kid seems uber-talented. There is also one scene that I found humorous was when Shion was in the hospital visiting Saitou's mother and she asked if the note Shion gave her was a love note. XD Speaking of which, I am a tad worried about what happened to Saitou's mother. All in all, I enjoyed the episode. Although, I am a tad concern about the pacing of the series – I'm not sure how they would conclude the tournament and the mystery behind Shion's parents death all in four episodes. The tournament is rather large and there was little to no hint of the investigation moving forward in this episode. |

| Great series so far, i still have no clue how to play Shougi but i love the tension and the plot. I guess i'm not that observant as i had no clue Saitou was a guy until Episode 07... -_- |

| To many of those random expressions in this episode in my opinion, but they do light the series up from time to time =). And what happened to the girls mother, I'm hoping on that it is not to serious. |

| Loved this episode. The tournament looks like it's going to get really interesting. I'm rooting for all the ladies (and the trap :P) but Saori looks like she'll have the toughest challenge. B group has some very difficult competitoin with Hani and even Saitou's teacher. Then again, since it's open there could be even more tougher matchups that haven't been mentioned yet. Shion's first round was too easy. The second round for her should be an interesting matchup. I hope Saitou's mother is OK. |

| Ahaha Shion sure showed that guy XD! Yeah your group is full of female kishi and amateurs but you still lost pathetically in the very first round. Good job. Shion vs prodigy...well that's going to be an interesting match. |

| So many unexpected things are happening in the tournament so far, it's really interesting, I can't wait to see Shion's next match against that kid |

| Well, clearly Satoru has a lot of problems. But, after seeing that opening sequence, I feel like being a murderler isn't one of them. I'm glad Shion won her match, hopefully she'll do well in this tournament. It's weird how aloof the Pros seem to be so far. I guess they mentioned that many of them were concerned about how they would be seen losing against an amateur. But, it seems like there is a distinct sense of superiority among the Pros. They've gotten complacent thinking that their own group is the only way to foster strength. Also, Shion having a drawing of Ayumi's face on her pad was hilarious. |

| Satoru wasn't letting Makoto get away with ending their match prematurely. He's still going on about it years later :P This tournament looks interesting, with some new faces and high level matchups to constantly maintain the suspense. |
