Indeed, I thought my computer was freezing continuously before I realized there was just no animation. I wonder if there was a dvd version of this episode where things actually happened. |

That said, usually when the budget runs out, they compensate by reducing detail and making it look crappy. In this case, they did some cool and trippy effects that were appropriate to the atmosphere and somehow managed to convey the emotions without doing much actual animation. Although I would have preferred a well-animated fight, this was pretty cool in its own way and it was pretty interesting to see how they managed to save money without sacrificing too much quality. |

I disagree. It was bad. Sometimes there was not synchronised voice. Almost no animation. Compare it to the episode where Luna/Hazuki tried to kill Kouhei? When she pierced his chest with her hand? It was just their silhouettes in the few colors. They avoided censorship ( I guess it would be +18 = less spectators ) and they keep it simple. In my opinion this episode was failure. As I mentioned, they can make interesting episodes without too much animations. |

| Every other character in this anime has fairly subtle and deliberate magic abilities with at least some limitations (including Hazuki, who is supposed to be vampire royalty or the like), but Kinkel just gets a bunch of overpowered abilities for no discernable reason, even though he's just some henchman. |
