Dat OST.

Damn, a lot of battles this episode. Go Team Rabbits! Well, actually this episode had plenty of action. I guess Hitachi wants to be the 'hero' like always. Death flags raised

One of the dudes with the silver hair also seemed sinister enough to me this episode. As for both sides, I can tell that they're struggling for dominance. It's just a matter of who can fight better or has the better strategy. Anyways, not bad this week. Action/5.

Been a while since I've seen a whole episode of non stop action. The CG surprisingly held up well, pretty exciting stuff!

Was it really THAT surprising from the Alliance's point of view the Wulgaru could also be humans?

Besides Tamaki, all of Team Rabbits were actually strategizing and playing it smart even if they were a little dysfunctional in the beginning without someone reining them in. Wonder if Asagi and Izuru are gonna butt heads on who leads the team in the future... Classic trope but if it's well done I wouldn't mind

Someone really needs to forcibly fire or assassinate the Alliance's commander >.> Still pisses me off

Glad I didn't drop this. This episode was the best so far and why does the prince look so surprised when he saw MC? Maybe he didn't expect him to be human as well? I found it strange he we withdrew from the fight just from that.

In before MC is actually their childhood friend.

That commander is so incompetent I was rooting for the girl to shoot him and take charge of the operation for the good of everybody involved.

Best ep yet! This show really knows how to do it's action :D

Loved all the Mecha fights and the animation was really good.

Team Rabbit and Doberman were totally BOSS this ep. Finally Team Rabbit are getting the hang of it.

Loved the last scene when they each saw each others identity. I wonder why the White haired prince was talking like he knows the machine's pilot?

Nxt up Izuru meets the White hairs hotty.

PS...FIRE THAT FRIGGIN ASS HOLE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess I'm not the only one that found this episode to be the best so far, I was honestly starting to get worried for them hah.

But yea why did the prince look surprise when he saw Izuru? Hmmm. Well it seems that that girl will finally be brought up again.

Please someone shoot that good for nothing so called commander!

In interesting battle episode. I liked it for the most part, however it was a little hard to follow since I couldn't quite see what was going on. They seemed to also be replaying a lot of the same footage from this and episode one, so I think the battle animation was a little lazy in that regard. It was an okay battle as far as space warfare goes, however I have to say while it had nice spectacle, it failed in the tension department.

We see that the Fail 5 are beginning to get a little bit of footing as a team, however I think they still have a long way to go as when Izuru leaves, they fall apart again, and Asagi has to step it up as second-in-command.

The Wugaru are actually more interesting than the Earth forces at this time and I wished we could have seen more of them. The Earth Forces in all honesty are just cannon fodder at this point. I have no idea why they are even around. If the Fail 5 mechs are so OP and can pretty much do everything on their own, why do they even have the rest of the military? All they do is get slaughtered. At least in Gundam, the other non-mecha forces actually have weight in the battle and support the MC fighters. These forces seem to do nothing other than get killed. (And honestly with the COs they have in charge, I can see why...)

And yet for some reason, despite all that background killing, I felt no real gravity for this battle. I felt there was really nothing much at stake. I think this is mainly because none of the battle really had any affect on the main cast, neither they (nor surprisingly Team Doberman) were in any real danger and I never for a second doubted any of them were going to make it. I think that's going to be MJP's next hurtle in trying to get us to care about these characters. Sure we might be getting familiar with their antics, but if you don't give us any real danger to put them to the test, some real consequences to realize, this show's going to always just miss the mark.

The duel between Jiart and Izuru was nice to see and solidifies them as rivals. I was wondering why Izaru specifically was ordered to take the battle away from the main fight and have the two fight one-on-one? I really hope it was more than just the writers saying to themselves "we must have the rivals 1-on-1 duel trope somewhere! But how are we going to get the two alone? I know, let's just say he was ordered to do it!" Because that's just sloppy and they should know better.

Izuru has seen Jiart for the first time and sees that he's indeed human in appearance and resembles the girl he met a few episodes ago. I thought the two meeting for the first time was interesting since Jiart seemed to recognize him before flying away. I wonder if that was intentional?

Well next episode appears to be the aftermath episode, and Izuru meets Theoria again. How will he react to her now that he suspects her to be alien as well?

As for this episode, I give this an 7.95/10.

Pretty standard that the leaders of your military to want to refight the previous war rather than fight the next war. History is littered with episodes in which troops were slaughtered because their commanders insisted on using outmoded weapons and tactics in the face of game changing developments. (My personal favourite--the French soldiers in bright red pantaloons charging in drill formation against entrenched German machine guns during WW1) Since the mecha are new and somewhat experimental weapons the establishment would rather depend on the tried and true. (and I almost used the example of the reluctance to use the psychics in Zettai Karen Children during the Second World War before I realized that plot points in one fictional universe are probably not the best real world comparison for another fictional universe...maybe I watch too much anime....)

Agreed, the mecha action was great but there was no tension. I think part of it has to do with how relaxed most of them seemed? I mean they were in the midst of battle, and at times supposedly are overwhelmed by the enemy, yet they still have time to joke around? Not that it's bad for them to joke around, it just takes away the seriousness, or the intensity of the battle. And the military was pretty much useless...all I saw was a huge number of ships (or wtv they're called) floating neatly in space and then getting blown up, there really was no point in having them out there on the battlefield.

Jiart seems to like talking out loud to himself...I didn't think everything he said was that important anyways since half the time was just saying pretty much the same thing. I wonder why he didn't just kill Izuru? Anyways, the best part of this episode was probably Asagi learning how to lead the team, and he did a great job. Glad he's getting less nervous on the battlefield, since for once he didn't have his ulcer problem. Kei was pretty cool too. Tamaki is still annoys the hell out of me though. It seems like we'll be seeing that girl who reminds me of Lacus. Except her bangs are ugly :P

The proper term to use here would be "execute".

Interesting, but the part I like best is still the intereactions between the main characters. Laughed Out Load when in the middle of the battle Randy (?) asked the girls for a date.

I think people are rating this low simply because of the art style and the fact that it's another mecha. Honestly..

That hunter/prey analogy he kept spouting has unfortunate implications though.

He's the lion that thinks because he has bigger muscles, sharper claws, stronger bite, that he's the hunter.

Conveniently forgetting that he's up against someone that doesn't just rely on the 'base' attributes but on rational thinking, situational analysis, and well-informed decision-making. As I said in another forum, the Wulgaru rely heavily on their instincts. The Princes, especially Izuru, are 'evolving' to make rational thinking, situational analysis, and well-informed decision-making be instinctive. That's what the JURIA-SYSTEM is for anyway...

In my opinion GKMP has way better mecha battles than Valvrave, because the art is clean and looks better, they are much easier to follow, and we don't see pink color smoke and explosions.
I also felt the tension was being killed by the characters reactions.

Anyway action/5

A good bet, action-packed and designed really well. Even the animations did not leave much to be desired, in this narrative alternates between Izuru and Asagi, raises a good question! A little unexciting action because of the awkward reaction of land to enemy attacks, you can say it, but I liked the episode. Honors this week!

Epic action in this episode. Team Rabbit and Doberman=Awesome.

Team Rabbit's teamwork was great.

Asagi took charge while Izuru was facing Jiart. There is some connection between these two??? Hmm next week the battles will continue. Also the Wulguru girl Izuru met will appear again.

I hope the commander dies!!!!

Brilliant Episode!!!

Good to see a lot of action in this episode and the animation was pretty smooth and exciting. Seems like the Wulgaru have their own aces as Jiato fought Izuru on equal terms though I think he may not been revealing his true strength yet but Izuru in this duel fight learns a bit about them making a reference to the girl (Theoria) he saw before during their vacation. The commander still surprises me with that leadership. Team Doberman and Team Rabbits did brilliant in this episode demonstrating their unique skills and abilities and their teamwork was somehow fixed by Asagi which was a good change of scene.

Looking forward to Izuru meeting Theoria in the next episode!!

5/5

I felt their teamwork was horrible until Asagi took control. Even though they mentioned that their formation messed up after Izuru went to distract the white one, Izuru was still horrible at giving out orders this episode,

I can see the issues some people have with this show. Glad to see the incompetent commander is getting all the hate he deserves. Add me to the list that wants to see him get executed asap which would only be fair for all the massive losses he's causing the fleet.

Still, like others pointed out, the way the fleet is just losing mass ships is ridiculous and hardly makes you take the series seriously. It's just hilarious how those massive ships gets taken out by mechas and the human side seems to have hardly any mechas or at least worthwhile mecha pilots out (aside of team fail / dobberman).

And whitehair dude hardly does it for me as being Izuru's rival. Maybe cause he seems such a clear Griffith (Berserk) rip off and I find those what they supposedly consider bishonen invincible villain types piss poor. And don't know, the Lacus wannabe could be his sister but I think whitehair dude has a boner for her. Wasn't he searching for someone?

But don't get me wrong, even if it seems I'm only complaining. I do like the show quite a bit.
