| Seems interesting, the version of the Arcadia for me might take time to get used to, but the design of Captain Harlock himself is awesome. I personally find it interesting how they will handle the character design. The thing with Matsumoto's designs is that they were made for 2D in mind, while work from Pixar for example were made for 3D CGI in mind, so I wonder how Matsumoto's very classic, very distinctly "Leiji"'s style will look natural in CGI. | @Klonoa79H I thought that, too xD But I really like the design. I didn't grow up with the original so I practically know nothing about the Harlock series. This movie will probably be the first thing I watch from it. Did the original Arcadia look different? Because I read a few comments about the design. |

I'd say for a good introduction to the Leijiverse, I'd recommend checking out the Galaxy Express 999 movie, which is a fantastic space opera drama, plus it features Harlock as a character in it! |

| hmm looks like Toei got the same animation unit that was used to make "the spirit within" and "advent children" and they looked stunning. so this is definitely being watched, wondering based on the American promotional trailer whether they're thinking of releasing worldwide or not. hopefully but like most Japanese films it unlikely to come to the UK, which is by accounts an anime avoidance zone for cinema releases |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
