Looking through the forums, I can tell other people have noticed this too. The one flaw with this show was the relationship between Maho and Koyuki. I started off liking it, but then it just began to annoy me. Maho kept going back and forth between Koyuki and Yoshito, why would she get mad a Koyuki for hanging out with Izumi, when she was hanging out with Yoshito just before? I loved everything else, but this one aspect brought it down for me, anytone else feel the same way?

Insecurity. It's tough for people with middling talent (Maho) to be with people with overreaching talent like Koyuki. She knows he's attractive to her now, but as he becomes more famous will that still be true? What does she really offer? Her looks? Those will fade, or better looking women will come along as he rises in fame. After all she has her brother's example and his musician's friends as example of how they treat women. Her attitude is in large part a desire not to be like them (or more to the point to be like them, not like the women they sleep around with).

Love means opening yourself up to being hurt. Maho has never done that. It scares her. She has the upper hand now, and out of insecurity she is using it.

The reason Maho's that way is because the author got lazy, I'm sorry but it's true, when ever he needed some "drama" he just brings Maho in regardless of what happened in the previous episodes.

All I did was read the BS one-liner and drew my conclusion.
Unless he is paying your to defend him, shove off.

Whoa, what's with all the hate? Beck is a good anime, but it does have some stuff that I don't like, one of them is Maho. By the way, I didn't say that I can write any better then Sakuishi Harold.

I agree. I feel like they could've kept the relationship between Mayo and Koyuki going without dumping Izumi's character. The fact that Izumi and Koyuki didn't really do anything wrong, coupled with Izumi's overall importance to the narrative (she gets Koyuki into Dying Breed, introduces him to Ryuusuke, hell, even comes up with the nickname Koyuki), Maho's questionable decisions later on (not speaking to Koyuki for an extended period, the magazine shoots, and constantly hanging with Yoshito, despite his overtly jerkish behavior towards Koyuki, and having few redeeming traits except for his money), and the wasted potential of another character in the form of Hiromi Masuoka really soured me on the relationship between Koyuki and Maho, which I was all for in the beginning.

It's not only the terrible romance element, but Maho herself. She's an annoying bitch who's only content when Koyuki achieves something. If she's replaced by a better love interest or the romance gets deleted entirely, Beck would've been a much better show.

See, I didn't dislike her at first, but she shows a lot of disregard to Koyuki's feelings later on, which isn't cool.
