If you have any recommendations or just want to say hey, feel free to send me a message! My favourite demographic is Seinen and I tend to go for drama and slice of life anime. I try to legally stream my anime and buy it fairly often, but sometimes it can't be helped but to use slightly less than legal means in order to watch a series (yarr harr).
I first started watching anime one day where I realized I was bored of video games and the internet, so I decided to try out this "anime" thing my friend told me about one time. I looked up Cowboy Bebop and was hooked. After I finished, I really had no idea what to what next, so I looked up top 10 lists on the internet. One that stood out to me was BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, and the rest is history!
I don't read a lot of manga except when the manga version of an anime I like goes on for longer than the anime itself, stuff like Beck or NHK. But hey, recommendations are always welcome!
Just a side note, but I like music a lot, like, A LOT! I play guitar, drums, piano and a bit of trumpet.
Some of my favorite artists include:
Kanye West
Miles Davis
Atmosphere
Kendrick Lamar
Nujabes
Madlib
MF DOOM
Charles Hamilton
Daft Punk
Dr. Dre
Top 5 OPs
Serial Experiments Lain OP
This is just beautiful
Carnival Phantasm OP
I've never even seen this show, but damn is this catchy!
Nah, I don't really buy any merchandise. I don't but any anime in general, so I don't own and shirts or posters. I do buy manga if that means anything.
Sorry for the long wait in response, schools been pretty crazy.
His new mixtape drops on Halloween and is Back From The Dead 2. This is the make or break for his career here.
And TBH I never have re-watched an anime. I might do it soon when Bebop comes out on Blu, but I can re bet pretty well why I love certain shows and don't need to completly rewatch them to remember why I do.
Also I finally listened to Discovery and damn it's a great album. Too Long is my fav track right behind Digital Love.
They say that Kanye is done with his new album, he's just being secretive about when he's releasing it. I love me some Frank Ocean and Weeknd and am really hoping a new Ocean album comes out soon. Also a new Chief Keef mixtape is on the way so that would be entertaining.
I've started listening to Animal Collective and The Knife and I'm recalling diggin there stuff. "My Girls" is honestly a masterpiece in my eyes.
For what's come out this year, the new Sun Kil Moon, Swans, Spoon, Aphex Twins and How To Dress Well are all excellent (looking forward to the new Panda Bear album).
If they just blatantly call the series "pretentious" without listing any reasons why they don't like the show, I think
A). This person clearly did not understand the show, so by calling it that they never in their heads feel like they need to understand it or
B). This person wants to show how smart he/she think they are, so by calling it pretentious they seem smarter then the show and all the people who like it. Same to people who hate Fellini, Bergman or Kubrick film: they want to seem smarter then the people who made it.
I'm really loving it so far. My biggest problem with most fantasy works is that they are so wrapped up in their own mythology, that they take little time to focus on an adventure or the characters in the story. Escaflowne seems to not be that terribly interested in kissing its own ass, but enjoying the fun while having a great sense of wonder and awe to it all.
People have mentioned that, but I'm still rather interested.
I've been really listening to the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex soundtrack recently and an still blown away by it. I honestly think I may need to rewatch the whole show after I'm done with Escaflowne.
Yea I always hear nothing but praise about Discovery. I'm listening to Random Access Memory's and really loving that album so it's on my list of things to listen to.
Honest is pretty good. I like it more than Pluto, but both albums are pretty solid. I like Future because I see him really developing as an artist though each album he's done so far. He's also one of the few rappers whose not afraid to but heavy emotion in his songs, which I like.
It's Album Time is easily my fav album of the year so far. It's such an exciting piece, combining techno/70's synth/dance and able to turn it into something new. I'm not a huge fan of electronic music, but I LIVED this album. (Still need to listen to Discovery).
Also, sorry for all the late responses. It's that time of year with ACT, SAT, AP testing and my job all get really crazy and I end have having little free time.
That's what a lot of people have been telling me. I was only interested in it because it was the team behind Gurren, but nothing else really. I don't even watch airing anime, unless it's something I'm really looking forward to, like I did with Kids on the Slope. I'm now trying to watch older anime that have been deemed classic like Escaflowne, Wolf's Rain and Utena.
Yea I would even say I'm in burnout right now! This usually happens when I'm in school, since things just get so busy with that. I've been meaning to watch Kill La Kill also, but have found myself struggling to find time for others things let alone that.
Sorry for the late response, I was in Florida for spring break and I got a massive sunburn. Anyway, Ive been fine. I haven't seen that much anime as of late because of school, but I have come to the conclusion that End Of Eva is probably the greatest animated film ever made. You?

Also incredible profile picture.
