Fucking masterpiece.

The manga openly describes itself as covering yuri, hentai, omorashi, and other elements of fetishism not usually seen in shōjo manga.

As I said, masterpiece.

I do not think it would be wise for me to check this one out. That whatever-in-gods-name-it-is synopsis and the promise of ecchi/fanservice elements doesn't combine well at all.
I probably regret this post by now.

What exactly are you asking? Only shoujos I really watch are magical girl shows like Pretty Cure and Card Captors, along with a couple other random ones that have appealing art styles like My Little Monster.

Except it's not a shoujo but a shounen. I have no idea why ANN article, from which Amarrez took the quote, labeled it as shoujo.

Maybe not, but the quote the guy did sounds like it was saying it was shoujo. Why even compare itself to a shoujo if it isn't one?

This news already succeeds in its purpose, without even producing a single cel of animation: Because it lets people know about this manga, whose 1st volume only came out a bit more than one week ago. And it got people like me to get interested into the manga after checking its 1st chapter (you can check it here http://comic-meteor.jp/data/tendoro/0001/_SWF_Window.html if interested) because of the high level of its character art. Given the obscurity of the manga artist and the publisher, I doubt the anime budget would be big -- I suspect it would be some flash anime in short episodes.

Basically what I get is this manga/anime is composed of 3 major elements:

YURI x LOLI x OMORASHI

The last one is key because if anything the manga artist is known among otaku in Japan it is his obsession with Omorashi which is the Japanese word for Incontinence. Essentially this manga just replaces piss with candies -- those mushrooms are chocolate mushrooms which is a very popular type of candy in Japan; it is NOT real mushrooms -- and the main appeal is to depict loli girls trying to hold back. So here you go.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I was totally on board in until I got to "omorashi". Not a fetish I'll ever be into, to say the least.
At least this time the mangaka is smart enough to replace the usual stuff of omorashi with candies (candy mushroom, candy bamboo shoot, candy donuts), so it makes it less of a turn-off, but yes the mangaka clearly has a fetish for omorashi. The only thing I am concerned is the art quality in the anime. If it can make it as adorable as in the manga and the animation does not look cheap, then I am all for it. The heroine is absolutely hardcore YURI towards her room-mate -- in fact this is the reason why she turns into that body that keeps excreting the candy mushrooms!!

^ Hmm...Come to think of it, it seems that yuri in anime is more often than not one-sided... or at least it is not reciprocates until at the ending...

Because it's often just exploited for fanservice.
I won't say that though. Some fondling of female by female like in Strike Witches, yes, but anime like Yuru Yuri or Aoi Hana I would not say the yuri is "exploited". To me it is more like that one-sided yuri makes it less likely that it becomes a full-blown yuri situation which may actually turn off people.

jmal said:
The most enjoyable material for yuri fans almost always comes from shows that are not specifically romances and do not involve explicitly canon couples: Madoka, K-ON!, Strike Witches, Saki, Nanoha, Yuru Yuri, etc. And we get the rare open, canon, reciprocal yuri couples in a handful of show like Horizon and Kanamemo, in which they're always side characters. But oh well.
I remember mentioning it in another thread (the BD sales thread I think) that full-blown yuri is a much more smaller niche market than the light yuri stuff. There are no lack of fans who enjoy implicit or light yuri but definitely not into hardcore yuri (it is one reason that is often quoted as the relatively disappointing sales for Kanamemo for example). Personally I would not mind seeing more full-blown yuri but sadly the market does not work that way. But then at least what the anime does not provide for yuri, it can always be found in doujin.....

From the ANN article.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-11-30/bishojo-gag-comedy-manga-angel-drop-gets-anime

"The story centers on Botan and Shinobu, two childhood friends who enroll in St. Azumaria Girls' Academy. Their encounter with an "angel" named Un-chan lead to strange things happening in their lives. The manga openly describes itself as covering yuri, hentai, omorashi, and other elements of fetishism not usually seen in shōnen or shōjo manga."

They seemed to have changed it since I last checked to add "Shonen", though. But you DO see that kinda stuff in shonen too... so I dunno. ANNs news reporting is weird sometimes.

Guess they realized they have made a mistake. The magazine where the manga is serialized, Comic Meteor, is a web-zine and has titles like Break Blade, Nyaruko, Symphonica and Nyankoi, so I would say it is shonen.

The current Japanese fanbase don't like it deep very much, it needs to be nonsensical and/or filled with moe, bishies, and lolis to sell.
