Not to me, seems more like an average series with moderate characters and story. The OST was something else though.

Great finish. My favourite character is Isla and the ostrich was very funny.

This felt like a mid-season finale, too bad this didn't get 26 eps because I feel like that would help it alot because there were so many unanswered questions too like I kinda wanted to know who Isla's baby father actually is, was never once brought up but they also didn't kinda have time for it.

Overall I enjoyed it but could've been so much more. Surprisingly good animation for its time I'll give it that.

The quite predictable happy ending after the battle, well it wasn't too risky ending but it works xD

I'm curious as to why they think Gould desires peace. The very first thing he did was destroy a seaside town, and he's continued to blackmail and attack in every episode since, even when he's offered more diplomatic solutions. For a motive that's been informed so many times, it hasn't ever been demonstrated.

A cool and inventive anime with stellar animation and worldbuilding. That said, Keel and the ostrich being as aggravating as they are for so much of the anime brought the enjoyability factor down a bit. Gould's actual motives also remain a mystery to me.

So did the Ulysses get away, or did they just sink to the depths and die?

And what was the Hammer of Dawn, man-made or a natural catastrophe? I don't remember it being clarified.

Anyway, great ending. The series was a surprise hit - great humor with fun characters (especially the ostrich), lots of naval action, and a nice, philosophical story. Criminally underrated.

8.5 las Islas bonitas /10
