----------------------------------------
Oscar gives up his pride to obtain what is dearest to him and becomes a pawn for the cult driven by unrequited love and obsession for Zenigata. He comes to his senses in the last moment, however, he has so far gone on this path that there's is no turning back anymore thus he sacrifices his life to protect the image Zenigata has of him in mind and his pride in the same fashion as several years ago when he got offered a new life by the Inspector.

Meanwhile Fujiko seems to be driven even further into paranoia...

Oscar heavy episode, i could see it coming now that i think about it. All the owl bussiness is either just to portait the ways of characters including Fujiko after she was raped as a child - or - some kind of owl cult does indeed exist and as a member of it, Fujiko's father sacrficed her for sake of experiments.
Anyway the whole owl bussiness is kind of starting to get annoying, they better explain this properly.

Best episode because that punk is gone for good. At least i hope so.

I wish Zenigata would act like he did in the old series cool and funny. Don't let Zenigata fool yall he is just like Lupin in it for the thrills. He can catch Lupin if he wanted sometimes but he doesnt. I wont spoil some part of the original series for you.

Im guessing the last episode they're all going to meet. I hope the last episode starts off like first contact movie or the episode in Lupin III Part 1.

Does anyone else think the owl appearing at the end to "interrupt" means the owl cult might actually have retrieved him somehow? Maybe they will revive him with science to go after Fujiko.

That was one hell of a ride, I would've never thought that Oscar is that crazy about Zenigata, he killed someone?! I somehow doubt that he is dead because of those owl duded but he didn't get his peace of mind at least.

Mine's mind is totally broken, I can't tell what she is going to do now that she has learned about the incidents with the (fake) Mine, is she going to kill herself?

I have no idea if those owl dudes are real or just some sort of stylistic way to tell us something but how dare they do those things to Mine.

Fujiko looks like a mental wreck. Noble effort by Oscar to sacrifice himself if only to uphold Zenigata's image of him. Didn't think Oscar would be such a yandere for Zenigata though.

This episode contained both the high and low point so far in the series in my opinion. An episode dedicated to Oscar (low point, if that wasn't obvious) and the (apparent) death of Oscar (banzai!).

I like this theory, I too was wondering why the owl interrupted his mental image of Zenigata. This seems like a possibility.

or maybe this is just all a dream, might be that Fujiko is reminiscing or having a nightmare about her past, we all know that when we dream about the past its not accurate and can be so abstract too like this series

I think what we got in this episode was the revelation that in addition to drugs, sexual abuse, and other assaults, Mine was subjected to electro-shock "therapy" as part of the experiments. I don't think that was a dream, it was a flashback. After all that, it's amazing that Mine functions as well as she does. Her interaction with Goemon was interesting though. Mine can deal with sexual interest from men with no problem, it's genuine affection and caring that freaks her out.

Three things:

1) What's with Japan's obsession with 'pure' women? Goemon specifically mentions it as a good thing.

2) Mine Fujiko: I need to kill her. I need to kill Mine Fujiko.
It seems my hypothesis from Ep 9 Discussion is coming true.

3) Amazing how Fujiko's childhood trauma is animated. Like a fairytale that shouldn't be a nightmare. As child Fujiko is electrocuted, the presence of balloons and pink overtake the horror that Fujiko is experiencing.

Because it's Goemon, you see. Lupin, for example, thinks otherwise.

Wished there was more Fujiko! Instead we get more of the jealous faggot assistant trying to frame Fujiko in order to win Zenigata's affection... but I mean seriously, does he think Zenigata will become gay for him by framing Fujiko? What an idiot.

With two more episodes to go and so many unanswered mysteries, they better get to the bottom of it. Who are the fucking owls and what are they after?

I liked Oscar so it sucks that he's dead but as this is a prequel, i guess it's one way of explaining his absence in later series. I kinda of expected another showdown between him and Fujiko but i enjoyed the indirectness of this episode. It was a good way of illustrating his obsession with not only Zenigata but Fujiko as well and ended in quite the climatic fashion. Almost at the finish line i really can't wait to see how this is going to end.

I too wonder if there was a literal reason for the Owl at the end there. Anyway, I thought it was a great episode. I find Oscar to be a pretty interesting character in his own right.

Loving the depth this series is giving to Fujiko's character.

I don't think Oscar is dead, the owl needs him to lure Fujiko in his trap.

Another great episode, there was no need for fanservice.

If love can see thing as clear as black and white then people won't get jealous over it.

I have been pretty exciting for this show in the last couple episodes which I didn't expect it. I hope we get a good answer out of this show.

Now why the heck couldn't he just throw the bomb in the water instead of jumping down with it?
Not that I'm complaining though, I was never really a fan of Oscar.

2 episodes seem like too little time to properly explain the whole owl business, but who knows, maybe we'll be surprised! It's certainly happened before.

Fujiko Mine's one tortured soul. I wonder if she'll ever manage to recover from what was done to her.

Oscar, Zenigata just doesn't swing that way, sorry mate.

why didn't Oscar just THROW THE DAMN BOMB INTO THE RIVER

It bothers me when characters are stupid in that way... or maybe he felt bad about what he did and it was suicide

Oscar was such an annoying character, I really hope he's gone for good. After the first amazing episodes, it feels this show has gone somewhat downhill with the whole owl business. I hope the conclusion will compensate for it.

Oscar's episode, manipulated by his obsession with Zenigata. It would certainly seem as if he's dead, but you can't really take things for granted with a series like this.

Good episode. Yeah it was dumb of Oscar not throwing the bomb itself. Lupin could have done it.

The only reason I can think off, is Oscar didn't want Zenigatta finding out that he purposely framed Fujiko to get his attention to him. He probably couldn't bear the guilt he might have felt once Zenigatta finds out(which he will eventually).

Seeing Fujiko like that :( I want the old confident Fujiko back! Hopefully the last 2 episodes should have her return in form :)

It was so cute to see Goemon worried about Fujiko, and cooking for her. It's a pity she is hurt, and on the defensive, but you can't blame her. And well, this episode was actually about Oscar. Turns out he was saved, and kind of adopted by Zenigata when he was just a child. But he ended up falling in love with his dark gemstone, and it ruined him. He wanted to "connect" with Zenigata in the same way Fujiko did that one time. He wanted to be held by him, but his feelings wouldn't be reciprocated.

So he stole Fujiko's name, and played the thief. Trying to become her so Zenigata would chase him, but it didn't work. It did attract the attention of the owl-like people though, and things escalated as they tried to use him. But Zenigata realized that Oscar was doing something wrong, and remembered him why he took he in. And it was enough to make him throw his life away by jumping with that bomb instead of letting it explode. All so that Zenigata's vision/memory of him wouldn't be tarnished. It's kind of sad, really, but did he really die or did that owl prevent it? Oscar's theme is so good though.
