Okay, so after reading the Simoun article on Wikipedia for the past half our, I think I have some answers for you guys!
Dominura and Limone:
With the secret of the Emerald Ri Mājon revealed, we are finally shown what happened to Rimone and Dominūra. They landed in the far past, in the aftermath of a destructive war and a long period of lean economic times. Humanity had forgotten the secrets of the Simoun and the ways of their faith. The ancient Simoun found at the Ruins sit idle by the edge of the town where the two land, reduced to mere playthings for children. As the two are summoned to explain themselves to the townspeople, Dominūra explains to Rimone what she saw in the helical motors that upset her so much: she saw herself landing in this very town, explaining to the townspeople about the Emerald Ri Mājon, and thereby causing the entire war and all of the ensuing suffering. She asks Rimone for advice, and Rimone explains that if there had not been Simouns, she never would have met Chor Tempest or Dominūra. This admission overcomes Dominūra's reservations, and history unfolds exactly as Dominūra and Rimone remember it.
After reading all the stuff on Wikipedia, I understood so much more! So if you're confused about the ending, reading that will help clear up a few things. Also, it makes the ending seem even sadder :'(
Talk about being complex! I had to read the wikipedia to get that Dominura was actually the one responsible for everything (never associated that she was at the past, she could be at a different world and time period, much into the future)
But that was a game changer for me, made me like it so much more Simoun, there was so much more meaning to evertything suddently.
Well, Satsuki characters do exist but her personality is pretty typical of an older man than an older woman in terms of how she deals with things. The closest I can think of who is similar to her is probably Rin from Mnemosyne (which it seems you've already watched) and Holo from Spice & Wolf. I would also say Shinobu from Monogatari but you seem to dislike fan servicey shows so I'd avoid that if I were you.
Hmm.... They're more just nice older women, I like older characters (man or woman) in anime since they're rare, Satsuki is a whole league of her own when it comes to cutie though. Irisviel is nice and Kiritsugu is a total DILF
Np :P, personally I think Tari Tari isn't good as Hanasaku. It's like a little world for a group of friend in Tari Tari, and their developments were somewhat unnatural.
Meanwhile in Hanasaku, the characters are really refreshing, interact with many people beside them, and we can see them grew up as the series progressed.
Yeah both anime have quite the same setting, so you can feel something similar to Hanasaku in term of character designs, as well as how the plot progresses which makes it a bit cliche.
Ah ha, don't worry about the list stalking, it's one of the main purposes of this site, we all do it.
Well the reasons I disliked it are subjective, so a lot of people won't agree with me.
First thing, I found the character design ridiculous. You should see the bad nobles in the show, they look like clowns. And not cool Venitian clowns, no, just lame ass party clowns. Then I found the character design looked gay. It reminded me of Getbackers. And don't get me wrong, I have gay friends (mostly girls I admit), but I just can't get immersed when a whole cast is depicted gayly for no obvious reason.
And lastly there's the ideology behind the anime. Wolf's Rain world is great, I dig post-apo stuff. The plot is very nice, with good ideas everywhere, but the ideology is just one big road to nothingness (compared to shounen/shoujo for example). I'm afraid I can't say more without spoiling it for you. So an interesting anime, but for me it really was a hit-and-miss. I'll be curious to hear your opinion on it. Was it recommended to you by American people? Sometimes differences in culture can lead to differences in taste...
Okay, thank you very much. I liked Noir and I thought Madlax would be more like it than Casadora, but apparently that's not the case. That's a shame though. They should do a reboot of these series or something. I'm not likely to pick-up Madlax anytime soon now.
Anyways, thanks again for your time and input, a lot of people have seen Noir, but few have seen Casadora or Madlax, so when I saw your posts, I thought I might as well jump in. Enjoy your anime. Cheers. ;)
Hey.
So I have seen Noir and Casadora de la Bruja, and I thought Casadora was really bad. I'm bound to see Madlax at some point, but like you've seen Noir, how would you compare the two?

You should watch True Tears :P.
You might want to give a try as well to "True Tears". Have fun.
