I had guessed the nerd guy was either Korin or Mr Popo but I never thought it would be Kami. Kami vs Piccolo fight will be entertaining and as expected Goku is probably gonna stomp Tien.

Damn Yamcha actually lost, it wasn't clear but it does make sense that Kami-sama joined the tournament to defeat Piccolo, the second half of this episode sure was nice as well I didn't imagine Tenshinhan would be almost at the same level as Goku or is he?! Still pretty epic fight so lets see what's next!

Tien is barely keeping up with Goku, looks like that training at Kami's Lookout at such high altitude paid off.

Goku isn't even breathing hard! So Shen is Kami? I thought that may be the case. I take it he doesn't have confidence Goku.

Ah, so Shen is Kami, huh?
I didn't see that one coming, actually.

I'm betting Goku wins this match, just because Tien vs. Kami and Tien vs. Ma-Junior both aren't quite as exciting matchups as if Goku was facing off against them.
I wonder if they'll finish it by next episode, though.

As for who wins, Ma-Junior vs. Kami... that one I'm not so sure about.
part of me really wants to say Ma-Junior will win, and then the final matchup will end up being Goku vs. Ma-Junior...
However, it might also be exciting to see Goku face-off against Kami-sama, himself.
I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Ahh so it was Kami-sama, Yamucha has become stronger but stood no chance.
Oh yeah, this match is going to be awesome... Goku vs. Tenshinhan!

So Shen is God. The semi-finals are Tenshinhan vs. Son Goku and Piccolo Jr. vs. God.

Same but didn't think it'd be Karin due Goku surpassing his strength before he received training under Kami-sama.

I thought Mr popo may have been when but not kami. Goku and Ten look great. Must be Kami doesn't think he can count on Goku or maybe he has a trick up his sleeve.

Tienshien-han and Goku's previous fight was one of my favorites of the series. I'm excited for their rematch. But so far it's been hyped up well, but a little underwhelming. People punching and dodging in an endless succession never actually hitting each other. It's not exactly an engaging fight to watch. And the part where they were "invisible" was just lazy I'm sorry. ChiChi's back, definitely a great addition to this story she's so cute.

At least Yamacha put up a respectable fight, and I'm assuming Tien's about to get similar treatment from Goku.

Controlling Ki for attacks, and sensing your opponents and all that has felt really out of nowhere. If I recall Kamehameha was never referred to as Ki, and in Goku & Kururin's training the word was not once mentioned. You can surmise to even begin to comprehend Ki one must already be a masterful fighter or something, but the fact that Yamucha has his own controlled Ki ball after his training, when the only thing he could do before was a weak kamehameha is questionable to me. But as long as Ki doesn't become asspull city and has rules along with it, It'll be okay.

I'm assuming Goku and Piccolo jr will be the final match, but I'm seriously excited for Kami vs Piccolo jr, that should be intense. For thoughts on Kami vs Yamucha, it was cool but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed seeing him walk away happily after being able to exhaust all of his training though. And just a general note, I'm a big fan of the lack of plot armor in these tournaments. Two of our main cast lost round 1 of the tournament, and not as hype tools either, both fights were good in their own right, and they made sense to be a loss.

Goku and Ten's first fight could've been my favorite if it wasn't so stretched out. I ended up getting bored by the absurdity of it and its length. However, the start and finish of that fight were two of my favorite bits of Dragon Ball period, so it was good but lacked consistency. I have to agree with the sentiment that this fight has a bad start, boring back and forth punching with no impact, to a random rule of cool jump to air battle that makes no sense, and then both characters going invisible forever. Come on guys. I liked both the details of Goku not sweating and Ten being out of breath, as well as the pupils of Yamucha and Kururin following the invisible fight, but that was about it. Of course this was just the introduction of the fight, I'm sure it'll get good next episode, but that doesn't remove the fact that it felt lazy.

gokus probably gonna beat ten (it'd be more disappointing if he doesn't), but it's really cool to see him fight him a second time being more than prepared to defeat him.

also yamucha getting the crap beaten out of him by some guy is pretty much the best conclusion to his character. haven't seen him be really that useful since arc 1. just keeps getting beaten.

Even if some of you guys say that Tien vs Goku fight was a bit lazy for not even showing us that they hit each other, don't forget...they are PREPARED for this tournament. They both trained very hard just for this event. Goku trained in order to battle against Piccolo Daimao's "double" and Tien trained hard in order to compete against Goku! So apparently, it's not unexpected that we will get to see a practically even match between them. That's why both don't seem to hit each other!

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

Yamcha did very well considering he was fighting Kami, of all opponents. Come to think of it, he always catches the short end of the stick, by fighting overpowered opponents, at their time. But he truly is impressive. When he controlled that Ki-ball around and catching Kami off guard, it left me cheering for him. I guess Kami is in this tournament to most likely get rid of Piccolo Jr. by himself? He did mention he feels entirely responsible for the actions of his alter ego, King Piccolo. The fight between Kami and Piccolo Jr. will sure be exhilarating.

Tien Vs. Goku round 2 started intensely. I am sure Tien realizes that if he has any chance of beating Goku, he will have to rely on different tactics that aren't the same old.

Oh, so it really is God - that explains a lot. Yamucha is simply out of his league and requires far more superior training to even just stand a chance. We finally get to witness a rematch between Goku and Tien after three years! Of course, I'll bet my money on Goku. After all, he was trained by God himself.

14 Eps to go

Oh no!! That was Kami himself. He just fooled everyone. Only Goku was the one to find as he knows Kami. I think he just came to fight and take a chance against Junior. But he gave a lot of good advice to Yamcha. Certainly if he continues like that he won't be able to win. But his attack was awesome. That thing really was astonishing. I hope Yamcha is still got his pride well, haha!!

So the unfinished match started again. Last time both of them just ended up loosing energy. Goku last time outsmarted Tien but the deciding of the champion of the last time was just to end the tournament. The fight remains and now continues. It will be one of the dangerous and horrible match of the tournament. However the deadliest waits ahead.

This tournament is a bit weird. Are they finishing all the matches in one day? At least I hope the final will be in another day. And another thing is almost all the participants are getting befriended after the match except first and the third one. The fights are also bit funny and amusing. Still it maybe the best tournament ever.

Mine too. And of course everyone knows Goku will win because he was trained to defeat Junior, the deadliest elite class creature. Defeating a Godly shadow is not so easy of course.

Oh well, sure Goku defeated Mr. Popo or else how could he be so perfect and powerful and also ready to come on earth!!

Well, at least Yamcha got a good hit in before he got defeated. I'm surprised Kami is here and my guess, as some posters have said, is that he may think that Goku cannot defeat Piccolo but I'm sure the reason will be revealed once that match begins (or ends).

The Goku vs. Tien fight started out with high intensity but it's clear that Goku has the advantage as his breathing is almost normal while Tien has to catch his breathe.

TIEN VS GOKU IS SO HYPE

I was actually shocked about learning that Shen was Kami. I thought maybe he would be Mr. Poppo because of his trolling behavior but still teaching Yamcha things. I guess Kami has his own fun side though. It honestly makes sense for Kami to do this, since he knows he will die of Piccolo Jr does, he wants to live out his final day enjoying battles or maybe even trying his own chances against his offspring. Either way, their battle is going to be very interesting.

I know it might’ve just been filler, but that scene of Goku and Chichi was sweet. Goku obviously isn’t used to affection and giving it back, but I feel like he really did try to take Chichi’s words of encouragement to his heart.
