Yay for Miyano Mamoru! =) Orpheus dropped, but maybe that's cuz all the fans are redirecting their money to the new releases... it's been out for 2 weeks now anyway, so it's expected to drop. =T I loveeee that single though, I stare at my copy all the time cuz it is so dreamy. =) I like how all 3 Utapri singles are there, as expected. =DDDD |

Dog Days only sells because of its godlike seiyuu-cast. That can really do wonders. (That's also why Hidan no Aria is way higher then it "should") This is a very japanese thing and has nothing to do with the quality of said anime. Dog Days is pretty much shit if you don't care about the voice-cast. Or you might be able to watch it as trash, although it tries hard to make you think it does tell a serious story. (And that sucks) |

(That's also why Hidan no Aria is way higher then it "should") This is a very japanese thing and has nothing to do with the quality of said anime. There are plenty of shows with all-star seiyuu casts and they don't automatically sell 10k. It's sure not helping Nekogami Yaoyorozu's preorder rankings, which are the lowest of the Summer season. Same for Kaitou Tenshi twin Angel. Seiyuu move CDs, they have much less effect on anime sales. Stop trying to rationalize your belief that if you don't like it, clearly everyone who does is somehow wrong. Or that your opinion has anything to do with "quality". Twin Angel is borderline average/below average, Nekogami although pretty good is overshadowed by things such as Idolmaster. jmal can I have the link to the preorder rankings btw. |

Idolmaster is 227th in the preorder rankings. As for why BDs sell more, well special editions and the greater possibility Amazon shoppers have more money. Those discounts as well, I can't search any anime on BD that's recent without seeing it at a small discount. |

Also since Idolmaster will get much of its sales through the game bundle which won't be reported in the usual Oricon lists, vol. 1 numbers will be misleading. Basically anything in the top 300 BDs is probably gonna do decently. But even a show ranking 5,000th now could win over fans later on and get a sudden burst in sales. Yuruyuri as back in the 400s initially, but lately it's been doing much better. I also think buyers who would buy a DVD over a BD may also be more likely to be B&M buyers. The online shopping otaku are heavily favoring BDs. 27% is the standard preorder discount for both BDs and DVDs on Amazon. Well Amazon is a good place to buy books especially LNs. I get good and speedy notice on the titles I've already bought when new volumes come out. |

I'd also like to point out that up until about 3 days ago, iM@S was sitting at number 5 in games on Amazon right behind Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend since it was registered. For perspective, the original Project Diva sold 200k its first week. iM@S has fallen in the past couple days, but it's not a far stretch to say the bundle could hit up to 100k. 60-70k is a more realistic number though I think. I'm looking forward to seeing how iM@S vol 2 ranks when it's registered after episode 6 though. I'm anticipating somewhere between 30-40k in sales for the rest of the volumes. |

Or maybe TWGOK needs to learn that you have to pander to otaku to sell? Theres scenes where there should be panty shots and they actually go out of their way to cover them. Thats the kinda shit that otaku hate and will not give their money to. So they have no one to blame but themselves for not trying to appease their customers. |

Ehhhhhhhh, I have to say, I am very skeptical that KamiNomi's relatively poor sales have anything to do with a lack of pantyshots. Plenty of shows with that kind of fanservice sell terribly; plenty of shows without it sell better. Personally, while I like fanservice, I think Kaminomi was better for not getting deeply into it. Well, I don't mean thats the whole reason, I was just giving one example of how it wasn't pandering to the otaku. Though I've never read the manga, I've heard people say there were a few panty shots edited out in the anime. Some others are that it could make Otaku jealous seeing one of their own getting a lot of girls, and that it has kind of a "Big Bang Theory" feel where they are almost mocking Otakus. Also in general Keima is pretty much an asshole who goes around dating girls and then dumping them the second they no longer help him in his quest. Not having a generic MC that the otaku can see themselves as kinda sucks, too. Theres a lot of reasons I can see why Otaku wouldn't like it. |
