THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I liked it. Not as good as FF Advent Children, but fun. I have only ever played two Tekken games as of now, but I didn't have too much trouble following the plot. The fights were epic, and the animation was awesome. So I enjoyed it. |

I just got back from seeing it and even though I'm not a Tekken fan since I've only played a few of the games back in the arcades years ago, I was entertained by it. Not because it's a good movie, because it was pretty bad. The story made absolutely no sense and the dubbing wasn't all that good. I'm saying this as a fan of English dubs. Also, some of the dialogue was so bad it was funny at times. Same with some of the scenes which were so out of left field it was awesome. The animation was great and the fights were creative, despite the fact that the 3D was an afterthought. Even the characters were entertaining, some in that not so good way. Overall, while it wasn't the best movie I've seen this summer, it was the most entertaining. |

That was the most overdramatic movie I've ever seen. Talk about your family feuds (even though I know that's what Tekken is all about, is the Mishimas). But as the above poster said, it was entertaining. And a lot of that dialogue really was awkward. But looking at it as an adaptation from the video games, it was excellent (bar the giant mokujin monster). |

A must watch film for Tekken Fans in my opinion. If you aren't into the game, the movie won't be really appealing, because the plot's bit awkward. It really helps in understanding the movie if you've played atleast from Tekken 5 to get the feel of the characters who are in the movie. |

wow the current reviewers only gave a 3? well personally i like it, it does not have better action than final fantasy advent children but giving a solid background to a non-tekken follower of its story i got a good picture on how the story of tekken now is now looking forward to Saint Seiya and Captain Herlock and Resident Evil Damnation CGI movies too |

Coming from an avid tekken player who mains Alisa, I liked the movie and all the fights. The story line for people who don't get it is the Mishima family don't like like each other therefore they must fight XD jk Yeah you have to at least play some of the games to at least know some of the stuff going on in the movie. Jin and Kazuya have the devil gene, everyone thought Heihachi was dead because of the explosion that happened in tekken 5, and last but not least Kazuya hates his father for throwing him down the volcano more than 5 times..... oo yea and lei is a cop XD srly heihachi just did a backbreaker to that guy |

Ever since I played Tekken 3 I've been waiting for this to happen. I was excited for this movie and my opinion is biased since I've always been a Tekken fan. I liked the movie, the CG was pretty good. I think they story's not too shabby - they had to think of a way to have all the Mishimas join the fight. It was awesome to see Kazuya in action. He's my fave character. His devil design was a bit over the top - I would've preferred the more simpler, classic devil look - but still nicely done. I'm gonna have to buy this so they can make more. Maybe show some of the other characters. Maybe that's a bit too much to ask. I got my devil gene action and I enjoyed this movie. I'll give it an 8 because movies are hard to rate compared to most of the entries on MAL. Tekken forever. |

I've never liked Tekken as a game but this movie was actually decent. The CG was nice and the movie finally made me like Xaioyu as a character. That's good enough for me. There were some cheesey parts, like pretty much every scene with Alisa, but otherwise I enjoyed it even as someone who doesn't like the games. |

^ that move has High and Unblockable properties.. that giant thing is too big and slow to crouch or sidestep and have the move whiffed.. hahahaha.. i enjoyed it with my pals because we were explaining every scene in terms of fighting game terminologies.. still, this show is nothing but a forgettable side story.. |

Since I'm unfamiliar with the Tekken franchise I was only able to catch a glimpse of the overarching story. However, it was still enjoyable due to the impressive CG and the hilariously corny dialogues. I'm not sure if it was meant to be a parody of overdramatic death scenes in general but I got a chuckle out of them whenever one occurred because of the characters' cheesy behaviour. |

The game is not into anything deep itself it just a fighting game lol, so ofcourse when I watch the movie I not expecting any good plot, the movie is only so so, but there is a very good scence. the fighting scence in the last of the movie is good but not really hook me in it lack some blood and wound :|, until the scence where Melisa crawling on the ground with half a face destroyed and fire her rocket arm lol, i dont know why but I rewatch that scence like 4-5 times, lol she is such a lame character in the entire movie but still this one scence of her is very remarkable |

The CG could have been better on some points, especially on the final boss battle The characthers movements could have flown better, on some points. The plot was pretty meh. The fighting scenes were pretty cool. Alisa <3 Alisa saving the day was great :D The "acting" could have been better. And Panda was awesome :D |

definitely a huge improvement in terms of animation compared to Resident Evil Degenaration(Digital Frontier) what i didn't like is that it seems Devil Kazuya didn't do alot in the fight. i mean Devil Jin just keep pounding him and pounding. i kinda wish Devil Kazuya won the fight and defeated Hehachi. then again it seems Namco likes Jin more(same as me) but they definitely need to give Kazuya some credit the plot was kinda confusing to some(since Alisa was actually stored on a chamber pod only to be awakened in Tekken 6) she seem came out of nowhere. and yeah Shin Kamiya seems to be a waste of character. they should have used Lars Alexanderson instead and explained how he became a "son" of heihachi. overall definitely enjoyed the movie(Despite downplaying kazuya) and definitely a right direction in terms of video game movies. i think if they change somethings like Shin swap to Lars and release it next year the quality would imprrove soo much. and yeah it was written by Dai Sato which did Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex(amazing series btw) so yeah hope to see more of this in video games soon. hopefully they'll piut the Devil Jin/Devil Kazuya as well as other costumes from the movie and the game in the full version of Tekken Tag 2. i want that Nina Biker costume, Jin new shirt and his new Devil version(as well as the new Devil Kazuya) Alisa and Xiayou School girl outfit and Lees white tuxedo :P |

The Nina vs Anna fight at the beginning of the movie was prolly the best catfight I've seen in anime. For that alone and for the awesome CG...8/10 |

i'd give it 7 or 8/10 ^_^" Hmm...The first part was awesome!! I'm a big tekken fan but i never was a fan of nina or anna. So the first part was cool to me :) Let's see...the fighting looked cool too, but not much...there wasnt enough characters but atleast they put my favorite character...Lee. He's funny, his thumbs up rofl xD I Like alisa lol. My brother always had a crush on Xiaoyu i didnt even know why. She was too uh,.."over" cute in the game, here, she's just AWESOME! And got prettier:3 Her in her school uniform reminded me of how i looked in highschool :3 |

Being a Tekken fan since the first game, I liked this movie alot. The animation was beautifully done and the action was very intense and held true to the video games; the plot was somewhat convoluted and didn't really make much sense though. I LOVE the redesigned devil forms for Jin and Kazuya and can't wait to use them in TT2. Heihachi was a complete prick, but he's still my all-time favorite character. And the friendship between Ling and Alisa was awesome. I never really got to see much out of Alisa from Tekken 6, but this movie gave her a completely new personality that I'm really fond of. And Shin Kamiya was pretty badass, just to bad he got pwnd in like 5 seconds. I seriously thought he was gonna go devil beast mode with those glowing marks, but complete letdown (not even making Heihachi flinch). I'd love to see Shin Kamiya in the next Tekken installment. |

I am inclined to agree with the majority of the posts before my own. The story is not the best, but the computer graphics is amazing and the subtle little cameos are so much fun to pick out. If you have been a fan of the Tekken franchise past or present, this movie will do you justice. (I've been a fan since Tekken 3 yo) so yeah. Go ahead already, give it a try ^^ |

Being a Tekken fan since the second game, it was okay. The story wasn't really that interesting in my opinion, but I just stayed because the fight scenes and Panda was entertaining. Oh and don't forget Lee. EXCELLENT. The cameos were also fun, like seeing Lili when Nina and Jin were talking. It's kinda disappointing she wasn't in the movie. |

As a Tekken fan. I think, this movie, is shit. How hard is it... To actually do the Tekken story... From the first game, untill where we are now in the franchise... Why this girly shit? Why doesn't Kazuya and Jin look anything like their devil-forms in the game. Why why why why whywhwywywhbunagiäb >:( |

The story is bad at best, but at least the fights are pretty damn awesome, coupled with great CG. Plus my favorite fighter is Alisa, so I guess that helped 5/10 |

Meh I think the main reason I actually enjoyed this movie was because I'm a fan of the Tekken series and have played all of the games so far but number 6. Though the story pretty much sucked the fighting and the pretty cgi pretty much saved this movie from being horrible. 6/10 |

As a Tekken fan, I must say this movie was absolute garbage. They even butchered Devil's Jin and Kazuya transformations. Why couldn't they stick to the style from Tekken 2-5? They looked like fucking clowns. |

I enjoyed it. The CG looked good to me. The fights were awesome. There are two things I didn't like. Alisa & Xiaoyu were the main characters for the first hour of the movie. In the last 30 minutes they basically did nothing. It became the Mishima family reunion show. That's a bad job by the producers. Why push the main characters aside? Either make Jin the main character or give Alisa & Xiaoyu more to do. The Mishima fight went on too long. They should have cut out Heihachi coming back after he got kicked into the water. I didn't need to see him summoning the giant monster. 8/10 |

As a hardcore fan of the games, I found it pretty disappointing. The fight scenes were good but the plot was okay. Jin seemed to be out of character and decided to keep the devil gene in the end. I also didn't get the point of Shin's character. They made it seemed like the movie was all about him but he was of little significance. I guess he was pretty cute though. I also didn't like the design for Devil Kazuya and Devil Jin. I'm open to the idea of having a new design but they could have made it better. Nothing beats Devil's T2 design. Overall, I'd give it like a 4/10. |

If I wasn't a fan of the franchise, I'd give this 3/10 However, since I am in fact very fond of the series, I'm giving it a solid 7/10 instead. It can't be argued, this is a really bad movie, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. It was nice seeing the few characters come to life and the CGI was Excellent. The fights were very nicely choreographed (except the dragonball-esque ending), especially since you could identify most of the moves from the fighting games. I liked the Williams sisters rivalry. I liked the interactions with Alisa and Ling. I liked the Mishima free for all brawl. But I hated how none of this really had anything to do with each other. We followed Alisa and Ling as protagonists of the story, and for a while it worked somewhat well, but as the movie progressed it really felt like they were forced into it. Speaking of which, the story was absolutely horrendous and the pacing was abhorrent. The plot device character Shin (who doesn't canonically exist) just didn't work at all. They spent so much time building him up to be a character and then did absolutely nothing with it. As someone mentioned above, Lars would have been a much better pick. The Diablo Jim vs Diablo Kazuyer was stupid. Dragon Ball level stupid. I was just waiting for it to end... and then the Mokujin Golem thing happened? What? They should have just ended it with the Mishima brawl (which was awesome, by the way). The reason why I'm giving it 7/10 is because honestly, this is probably as good as it gets. It's undeniable that the Tekken lore is very messy. There are a shit ton of characters. Making a story that makes sense is really hard to do in a movie format. If by some astronomically low chance we get a full blown anime series of Tekken, only then we might actually have some hope of untying the deeply convoluted storylines and characters of the extremely whacky Tekken universe. |

Still don't get why Xiaoyu was the MC, because she didn't have an impact in the end. It ended up being about the Mishima feud and a three way fight, as always Jin remained on top. Shin also was kinda useless as a character, but Alisa was better than those two in the impact of the story. Heihachi ended up being the last villain standing as always, but fell thanks to Alisa. The only thing I loved was the devil forms of Jin and Kazuya, I never saw them before, even in the game. |

Aww, panda is so cute.. ;P Overall, it's nice that managed to make such close to game animation.. It suits Tekken, I think, if you like the game itself.. ;P Girl main character is also a nice bonus, I think.. ;P Well, Xiaoyu and Alisa, especially Ling.. Panda with turbo is cute.. ;P Panda moments are adorable in this anime.. ;P Both Xiaoyu and Alisa also have their wholesome moments.. Honestly, 3way fight comes out so funny.. ;D Now looking at battles which follow.. There final battles are so funny.. ;P Overall, it was nice movie, I think.. Wholesome with Panda, Xiaoyu, Alisa.. Funny in some things that were happening, lol.. I think how Lee is perfectly shows, how serious they try to make this movie, lol.. Was enjoyable watch.. ;P |

Watching this film 12 years later is crazy, as a Tekken fan the film's CGI is better than most stuff that comes out now, I enjoyed it made good call backs to the games, highly recommend if you've played any Tekken game |
