Charlies back, but much less likable than he was before.
Kind of predictable that the wife was the culprit, but it was still interesting to see how Keaton used his "science of deduction" to solve the case. I half expected him to say "Elementary, my dear Charlie" at the end, but that may be cuz i was reading "a study in scarlet" the other day
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

This was one of the weaker episodes. Charlie seemed quite foolish, even for someone in love. I mean, he's a famous detective.

Wasn't keen on Charlie the first time he appeared, but this story makes him out as a complete dolt. Hopefully he won't be such a punching bag if we see him again.

One thing that is pricking like a thorn (heh) in this episode is the poisoning of the dog to me. I just can't believe how easily he is cast away for the mystery to continue. Surely consumption of it is toxic to a certain degree but it doesnt mean instant death as shown. I don't own a pet and my basis is just pure quick google searching and logical reasoning but yeah it's a bit over the top.
I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

Extended families or lovers on MAL are a farce.

Jesus,is Charlie suffering from amnesia or is he that big of a prick for refusing Keaton's expertise that it would mean letting two murderers almost get away ?

This episode was a bit predictable. It was more and less obvious when the white roses where mentioned and the bloodstains showed up in the shed. This women is batshit crazy. She killed the guy because he didn't want to be an accomplice to a muder and spend the rest of days with someone who killed her husband because he found out about her love for him(which didn't even bloom in a full fledged affair)? If that's what rejecting her love means to her then I don't want to know what happens to those who receive it.

Why is Chrlie getting red when Keaton is staring at him? lol

I guess Charlies head goes around when he sees Keaton and his brain turns off ;D

There should be more characters in each episode. The culprit never turns out to be a character that hasn't been introduced, so there are usually 2-3 suspects. From those it's easy to guess the right one, especially since the hints generally point in the right direction. Not much of a mystery.

Charlie is a ridiculous character but he's taken completely seriously by this story, as if Keaton out-doing him as a detective means anything when the former is written to be so dim-witted. I instantly thought the wife was the murderer just because Charlie was on her side. Without the distraction of Charlie's silliness this is a very basic detective story. Morever it's a little fishy that the wife sabotaged the brakes on a car she wasn't even driving. She could easily have been killed in a crash.

The series has been pretty unconvincing about Keaton's talents in this way; he's always contrasted against fools.

That a poor way to characterisation, charlie got dumber. I mean I did feel charlie way kind of dumb even in his first appearance episode. But that part of him contributed to him being more human rather than dumb. But this episode blandly makes him a pampered dumb guy.

As for villan, it was obvious that she was the killer since the beginning. But I wish there was more to it (No having a affair dont make u a deep/ sjw/great flawed etc themed character, it just makes the character cheap. Its just superficial glorification)

Not a good episode
