THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I thought this episode was pretty good, for me it was much better than the first. It seems to be following the manga so far, which I was a bit concerned about after seeing the first episode.

There were quite a few funny scenes. Asuha is hilarious, I love the facial expressions and reactions to the things she does and says. I think the anime is doing a great job with character designs. The chibi forms can be funny and cute, and I enjoy both the OP and ED.

It must of been pretty traumatizing for the princess after seeing what happened with her mother at such a young age. The scene at the end of the episode was decent, it seems that the princess is becoming a bit more accepting of Naoya

Its pretty obvious this show will turn off a lot of people.. aka anti lolicons... but I love it. A heartwarming story in the making with an adorable loli

for some reason i feel like this is gonna be an okay anime to watch after all (the summary of the plot almost made me shoot the water i was drinking out of my nose the first time i read it LOL)
weee naoya is so skillful (and is it me or is there some similarities to hayate no gotoku o_O)

Seeing that picture of Asuha milking the cow was adorable and a little suggestive. I'm starting to like her a lot more. Elfreda is adorable herself and those boobs and cowbell combination makes her really hot as well, she should ring that bell sometime.

I kinda think the show shot itself in the foot with its plot description. I'm willing to bet that nothing that is described is actually going to take place. I think its more there to add a shock factor.

I watched this after I got back from Palm Sunday mass and I have to say that this is a pure hearted and sensible show that is filled with good Christian values.

I wanted to lash out about how it's sinful and disgusting but it is filled with good values and morals. I am thoroughly surprised with this show.

I am loving this show. 5/5

McRib approves. At this point i don't judge any anime for morals anyways or else i would encounter way to many issues.

I thought the first episode was dreadful, but my hope has skyrocketed to at least worth my time.

Wow, this was way better than the first episode! I really liked this episode, perhaps we will have some character development. Also, for an "ecchi" anime, the ecchi moments have mostly been very tamed so far, which is a good thing.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

This is... Surprisingly sweet. I'm actually pleasantly surprised with it. Originally, I was thinking I would probably want to drop it after the first episode and I almost did but this episode was surprisingly good. I'll give it a few episodes.

The only thing I didn't care for the milking the maid thing though...

I did like the backstory of the princess though. It makes a lot of sense.

Gonna be pretty adorable this, not a fan service anime imo.
There was 1 panty shot in this ep and it won`t exactly satisfy the lolicons :P

Hehe @ the milking scene and those sms from his sister :P

Adorable episode, full of warmth and kindness , hopefully they'll stay loyal to the manga and don't add any unnecessary fillers. (still hate her voice in the previews =_=)
And Actually Asuha is the protagonists daughter not sister :P (so you don't flame me read the character description p.s. i've read the manga before xD)

For a Rie loli, Astarotte appears to be somewhat likable. The tsuntsun is further justified through the background story.
As of now, I'm glad that the ecchi has been controlled to a minimum. It would just ruin the show anyways.
Overall quite a heartwarming and satisfying episode.
(Though knowing Naoya's relative age, the interaction between him and Astarotte feels slightly awkward)

It was surprisingly tame....despite the heavily suggestive settings...

So it's actually watchable since the main male protagonist is more like Hayate....and Astarotte is more like Nagi.....
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Geez, who wrote the description for this show, anyway? I think a lot of people are getting turned off by it since they think it'll be some kind of sick loli fanservice anime with no plot or character development.

But really, this show is so sweet and the characters are so likable. Might turn out to be one of the better shows this season, especially with its high production quality.

This is much better than the first ep. The plot and scenes were... suggestive, but I got over it. This episode focuses more on the character and build ups.... not only that, I thought this episode was cute too. :D
I was gonna drop it if this episode was a disappointment, but apparently its not. :D

and i wish more guys would be like the main protagonist. :D

Amazing how enjoyable this was, even though the characthers are quite unrealistic (maybe they just lack definition at the moment).

I'll definitely stick with this show. Really had some good laugth watching.

HOWEVER: Here comes DoubleDango's predictions:

1. They met in the past (duh) (when they were younger, perharps the doll was also lost at that time, too)
2. Astarotte is connected to the human world (duh duh duh) (link to 1)
3. Astarotte is the reason why the cell phone had reception (lol) (link to 1 and 2)

On an other note, please, please, fucking edit that summary LOL! It's not what it sounds like -- at all. Just put in Hayate no Gotoku!/!! mixed with Zero no Tsukaima and they'll understand.

You know... If they were really anti-lolicon they would've dropped this anime after reading the Synopsis. The anti-lolicons here bitching just secretly likes lolis.

From crunchyroll's summary

"Naoya is taken to a magical land where he is to enter succubus Princess Lotte's harem. Due to trauma during her childhood, she dislikes men and surrounds herself with women. Let's watch the lives of these individuals unfold."

I think Astarotte has officially become my guilty pleasure for the Spring season. This show is much cuter than it should be, particularly given the subject matter. I was pretty sure it was gonna be dropped after the first episode, but now I think I'll see it through.

This got some Hayate no Gotoku vibes when the MC started serving the princess.
Seriously, the synopsis are kinda f*cked up but so far, it has a good slice of life feeling.
The pantyshots are kept to the minimal which is good IMO.
Also, imouto milking a cow definitely made me LOL.

It looks like Effie isn't just your typical maid, but also Astarotte's cow, literaly, co'z she's more like a wet nurse than a maid. And as for Astarotte's see her mom doing a "deed" well, that things usually happens in real life usually among those who live in the slums. To where children witness their parents banging right in front of them.
