Aside from that, I actually didn't return to watching anime until a few weeks ago. I got bored of my other hobbies, so I thought I'd check out "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru." Turns out that I didn't really enjoy it, despite its 'true to life' aspects. After dropping it at episode 10, I watched Spirited Away, the Steins;Gate movie, and then proceeded to pick up Little Busters from whence I dropped.
Currently, however, I got back into visual novels again, recently completing Yume Miru Kusuri, which was not bad of a story, if having too many pointless h-scenes. Right now, however, I'm reading a VN I've put off for a long time... Fate/Stay Night!!! Never really had time to put into the novel. Still stuck on the Fate route atm having played it a couple of days ago, but so far, it's quite fun. I love the standard Type-Moon elaborate bad ends. This really looks like high-end stuff compared to Tsukihime.
Coppelion didn't really stick with me, like you mentioned the three girls are slightly an issue and I still need to watch the second episode.
Kill la Kill, on two minds at the moment. It's really over the top, will have to see how the story unfolds and whether it can hold up against all the hype.(I'm just fussy and stuff) :)
Outbreak Company has been surprisingly funny and Magi's intro scene has just got me imagining about how the story unfolds to that point.
Other than that the others I've liked so far is, Tokyo Ravens(Hooked on the OP), Nagi no Asukara has an interesting story and the art is nice as well.
Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai, is a little weird, but I think it has potential.
Log Horizon seems to be the next .Hack|SAO show, which hasn't started out to badly.
Golden Time, time will tell with this, could turn out to be good.
This is just to mention a few.
I don't think any of shows are really "bad" bad, I'll give most of them a few more episodes before deciding what to do with them.
But lots of anime to watch, which is a good thing. :)
Things have been good on my side, been trying to change some aspects of my lifestyle and it's been going great. :P
Good luck with the intern job, getting experience is a very good idea.
How's it going? I read that you're back home again?
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. ^_^
Cheers
Vindi~
Yeah, I am planning to go professional in the long run. For now, I think I'll stick to fan fiction first, mainly because I think that a good story could come in any form - fan fiction or original fiction. Another reason is because I wanted to prove a point, that any character, popular or unpopular, well-written or not, can be used as a tool to tell a great story as long as you have the creative intelligence. Anybody can be a hero. They are heroes with a thousand faces. They are all part of a 'monomyth.' :)
I know what that sounds like - an empty promise spurred from a moment of foolish ambition. Words are empty, and until I put them into actions, I'll probably not be able to convince you that, this time, I'm taking it very seriously. So, I won't drag this speech of grandeur any further. Just simply, look forward to my first chapter, and know that it probably won't be anything too impressive in terms of 'amazing writing.' What makes this time different, I guess, is that I'm putting every bit of my intelligence, heart and soul into the writing, rather than having it being a half-assed effort.
But that's all in the past now. Now my head is clear, and I'm ready to write. Got into a writer's block recently, though... Ah well. At least I've finished two chapters already. Much better progress than my last attempt at writing.
BTW, I'm SO into existential stories nowadays that I'm searching for anime based around these themes (Bokurano, for example). Basing on my list, do you know any other that I've not watched yet?
I am quite busy myself, too, but I'm trying to keep anime-watching as my top priority. Haven't done a healthy amount of watching for a while. <_<"
