Keaton wasn't in this ep for more than a few minutes, yet to my surprise it turned out to be one of, if not the most heartfelt and best episode. Quite exquisite, if I must say so myself.

Man such a heartfelt and touching episode. Honestly that Naoki Urasawa can do this sort of story as well as he can do the long spanning thrillers just proves he's a genius.

Looks like I'll be the first to dissent here: wasn't all that impressed with this episode. The long-divided pure love romance was rather cheesy, the grandma wasn't an interesting character (I suppose a demure old traditional-Japanese lady isn't all that common in anime.) The search/chase around London was rather silly, and the way the language issue was skirted around started niggling at me: Yuriko explicitly says 'thanks', yet how is the old lady able to communicate? Does she speak in broken English? But there's little indication of such.

Much of the travels seemed more a chance for the writer to throw in random factoids about England rather than parts of an interesting episode. I suppose I can appreciate that it's all rather goofy and underplayed, avoiding the melodramatic. Perhaps there's meant to be some underlying contrast between the traditional woman and the modern and headstrong Yuriko, but that didn't really seem to be a theme so much as this just being Yuriko pushing the old gran along to success.

Maybe I'm a little bitter since I find Yuriko one of the more charming regular characters of Keaton and yet this episode was neither atmospheric, engaging, exciting, nor interesting in its details. A waste of her screen-time.

Damn Yuirko's naivety nearly got her killed. She reminds me of Ran from Detective Conan, strong but really naive and stupid sometimes.

Is Keaton's broken leg from episode 6 of the OVA? Seems like this episode should come after that one, then.

Powerful episode, great storytelling. Almost got a little misty-eyed which isn't very common for me with anime.
