I realize this is a baseball anime and that she'll definitely choose baseball, but honestly I don't think she should. Women have a future in tennis, the same can't be said for baseball. An athlete's life is too short to take a detour into a dead end at that age.

the love quadrangle could be solved if the childhood friends fell in love with each other ;)
though its pretty much impossible for that to happen.

You are right. Actually, Ryo did pretty well, considering it was her first time playing tennis, so I think it's Ryo who should choose tennis, and make a couple with Izumi. But, well, she can't, since the condition for her to enter the school is entering baseball club.

And I was greatly surprised at her accuracy hitting right through hole in the fence, as well. Wouldn't it make more sense just to throw over?

You are right about that one but we all know that the blue haired girl is going to waste his promising career for baseball instead.

Anyways. I'm enjoying this show so far. It's soap opera like but not in way that it's makes you sick.

I saw you at Kiba, anyways when it comes to the matters of the heart there is no dead end. Four eyes should back off he is the most boring of the group.

Princess Nine gives me ridiculous Aim for the Ace vibes, despite these two being 20 years apart. Although, in comparison, Princess Nine feels like it has a slight lean toward shounen-esque tendencies, with how it frames Ryo as a more plucky active lead. There seems to still be the shoujo element of the relationship between the girls, romance from the female protagonist's perspective, and breaking gender barriers by placing girls in an otherwise boys-focused sport.

I can't believe the studio who made this, Phoenix Entertainment, has only done OVAs and H-anime, particularly Legend of the Overfiend. It seems like the last thing they've done was back in 2007, which was a 1 episode yaoi. Princess Nine seems to be their one big break to create a television anime, so I can only hope it remains as good as it started. The story is relatively simple, but I like how earnest and straightforward it is. There's less emphasis on surprises, and a greater emphasis on personalities bashing into each other.

Yeah I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this. I figured I'd watch the first two eps and then move on to something else but I'm now on episode 13 and loving it. Definitely an unknown gem.
Casual Anime fan who mostly watches 80s and 90s anime
