Really this week, I dislike the episode.

Okay, it was nice to finally understand Tatsumi's plan for the match. Like always, his plan was devilishly wise and efficient, nothing wrong with Gino's condition, the players of the opposite team start to get angry and more yellow/red cards are coming... no more Kubota on the field... and all.

But on the other hand, this episode really lacks of tension.
Even for the sake of the suspens, to cut the 23th episode where they did to start this episode right with a goal just sucked. I mean, I did not even had the time to enjoy it.
And they did it again by closing the episode on the only football action we had this week.

I'm really fed up with Natsuki and his rambling... why does this player have so much episodes focused on him anyway ? When we still have nothing on other players like Gino. Gino is a weird one in this team of weirdos, I wished we could learn a bit more about him too.

I really hope, for the 2 episodes left, we'll have football and no more chit-chat...

...and some people say Tatsumi is useless for a coach when he is the one that creates match-ups and plans for the game.

Well, too much talk, less action. Hope to see more play next week. Common now, it's just 2 episodes left already, give us more plays and less talk Giant Killing.

lol... Hiraga has to resort to a deliberate shirt pull from behind on Tsubaki just to stop him. He's lucky that there are defenders ahead of him, else its a straight red. Actually i'm kinda surprised Hauer didn't get a straight red for shoving Kuroda like that already. I've seen it given many times before.

LOL Kuroda = Materazzi? Good thing he didn't get a headbutt from Hauer XDDD

And that girl who hurt my papaya with her french didn't even try anymore and went for a "naruhoro" instead of "je vois" in the end LOL

What the fuck! What a fucking yellow card.
I get why he does it, he's taking one for the team, but fuck.

WHATEVER, ETU WILL STILL WIN.

Also, looks like this is the last game. I really hope there is S2!

<3 Gino <3
Gino being mad at his pass rate dropping is so like him. Hah.

p.s. I hope Sera scores.

He didn't get a headbutt because Hauer is Dutch and not French. Hauer is more probably ready to spit on him and pull his hair if he had any *points to the match between Germany and Holland in 1990 world cup*

I think the Foul was commited outside Osaka's area then that wouldn't be a Penalty Kick... Anyway, that Hiraga had to resort on a really dirty, obvious and nasty play... I hope the referee gives Hiraga a Yellow Card... or even a Red Card.... Prolly a Yellow... Well whatever... Tsubaki was just more than awesome there! Dude he ran like a cheetah, a panther, dunno he was so fast that he could easily fly to the moon and never come back from there hahahaha... Loved the focus they put on him and totally love the hopes that are hold by him... He has the potential... he just needs to be confident... and get experience as well, just like Kubota will too!

Well then, the first half was lousy again... yet interesting since we know how Natsu feels... and also now we know why Gino was so 'off' Today... Hmmm regarding to Natsu's feelings... I ain't surprised of them since he's such an egoistical guy hahaha... What actually surprises me is that he's not the first kind of Forward that Tatsumi mentioned... The one who plays for himself... receives the ball from team and do whatever he pleases... IMO that's his kind... LOL Akasaki supporting him but admiting by the end that if it wasn't for his amazing abilities he wouldn't have scored that goal hahaha

Hiraga vs Tsubaki and Gino, Murakoshi vs Osaka's #10... those matchups are still going... and looks like, as Coach Blanc has already said, looks like in the midfiled ETU has won the battle... Osaka's down field... as for the upperside... Koshi still has a hard time.. and that's sad but I know he will overcome #10 and succeed in what he's supposed to do... Block him out completely or force him to make bad passes....

Gino was awesome this episode... being so worried for his stats... That's so him dude XD... His pass success rate.... Oh well but in the end he did what was commited to him... tire out the brain of Osaka... Hiraga... and piss them off

Oh talking about pissing off people... you Kuroda... you're my master! Pissing off Hauer so bad... and making him get a Yellow Card, btw, that's a Red Card IMO... but oh well... Giving him a card is good too...

Well well... will ETU be able to turn oround the tide... or will simply tie... I hope they win the game! And Tsubaki scores again!

Cards? Really? Wow....only took 24 episodes for this element to be included.

And all you guys wanting more action and less talking probably won't get it. I wouldn't be surprised if they end this match in the final episode and we have about 15 minutes left in the match. This is probably the one time I really was appreciating the talking because it gave real insight to Tatsumi's plan. But all what I want to know is....

This, but it also tied most of the developments together with a few to be still concluded such as Natsu and Sera. Developing the characters and having them overcoming problems is always the main focus of a Sports Anime and trying to create motivation for viewers. I know I said this last week, it just annoys me when people watch sports Anime's and just don't get the point of them -_-.

Though Giant Killing may not be the best Sports Anime out there, I do like they way it has this big plan that is all coming together. Usually they don't have a plan of much detail. The characters will usually just adapt to the situation and defeat the problem but in this case that is happening from how Tatsumi planned it which is quite unique. Only 2 eps left now though, should be good. Still unsure whether they will win or not, these shows love to suprise and trick you :/.

+1. A real shame that Tsubaki wasn't completely through so Osaka's captain would've be removed from the field. Though even with only yellow he already is a none-factor seeing that the only thing he'll see from Tsubaki any further is his nr 7 and that he won't be able to deliberately foul him anymore. Kind of expecting Gino to net the free kick if it's close enough. Though I'd prepare him centering it so Natsuki can get the goal which he's destined to score this match. At least it would still give Tsubaki a small chance to get man of the match bye scoring the winning goal but it just seems more Sera and Natsuki time to shine.

And surprised as hell to that Hauer didn't get the red, any form of aggression deserves red imo. Though maybe Kuroda hasn't taken enough acting lessons... Maybe he should learn from that Ivory Coast player that got Kaka this world cup. Still Kuroda went up in my book for not doing that since I sincerely hate such actions.

Hopefully there's a yellow card for Osaka there. I love Tsubaki's speed.

Poor Gino is worried about his stats now. Gino has definitely grown on me during the season.

I'm liking these last episodes, but I still dream to see a S2 made by other studio rather than DEEN.

A little question about the end of the episodes... Are any defenders behing Hiraga? Because if not, maybe he'll get a RED card, and that would completely crush Dulfer's setup.

Anyway, to put if shortly, everything went just according to keikaku. ◔ ◡ ◔

EDIT: And moar Gino please.

I doubt ETU will win this game, but they show they're strong...:D
Anyway Dulfer's tactic is a complete fail....the substitutions can't be decided before the match....the match decide them...
Its similar to the Real Madrid's last season tactics....Pellegrini had the 3 player in his mind who will play in tha 2nd half of the match.....

So the fact that we got two yellow cards this episode is a good thing in the overall scheme, but yeah the fact that we have yet to have one 24 episodes in.... Seriously there should be penalties flying constantly.

Also would of rather Tsubaki make a goal instead of getting another card. While Hauer's was stupid it is really pointless to pull the same trick twice in the same episode.

Soooooooo slow, almost nothing happens in this episode. Also, I don't understand how Hauer didn't take a red card, there's no way any refereee could give him only a yellow here. Does Japanese football have different rules than the rest of the world ? Anyway only two episodes remaining we'll probably see ETU's win vs Osaka in the last ep and then that's over. Well, I'll not miss it for sure.

Osaka's falling apart in both offense and defense after Kubota's substitution and Hiraga being out of stamina, ETU definitely will go all out in the last 15 minutes left.

This was the first exciting episode for me in a long time. The game is finally going somewhere, and Gino (the only player I actually like) had a lot to do with it. Not a fan of the "He's like the wind" stuff, since I think of Dirty Dancing, but whatever.

You can't judge fouls by looking how much damage one player inflicts on another. Normally if one player hustles another player like Hauer did, it would be a justified red card because of violent conduct

yep yep. it shld have been a straight red cos hauer brought down kuro although the ball wasnt even anywhere near them in the first place. if cards are based on dmg done then rooney shldnt have that red card in e 2006 world cup against portugal; ronaldo didnt even fall down that time.

So Tatsumi's plan works even better than he expected, partly because " Kuroda has a talent of irritating people." On another note, what happens if Tsubaki made a goal while being pulled down by Hiraga? I don't know much about football/soccer, but would that give them a goal AND a penalty kick?

I wonder who would Gino be in real life. Pirlo? CR7?
He's got SWAG.

Tsubaki had a great chance of offense and that guy fouls him. Shouldn't that be a red card since he was coming from behind and pulling his shirt?

So Tatsumi's tactic is the same as in the first training match between ETU's players? Didn't make much sense then, but makes even less sense here as their opponents are obviously playing attacking football so there defensive lline would be positioned around the halfway line, make the distance the defensive midfielder would have to cover to reach Gino's passes fairly short and shouldn't tire out a professional football player as is shown here.

tatsumi's plan finally get his way, hope it would lead to their win.

the annoying thing though, is that once the general idea said, everyone has to repeat it like a broken robot, and the whole analyse part could be much more fast pace.

and more of that, the whole fans part, not only here but in the anime, feeling like total filler, really making me less liking the anime together with the irritating pace...

and what with osaka's players? first huer and now hiraga?
