Lilisa's love for music is definitely sparking the fire in her again. So much emotion yet it's a fantastic rivalry imo.

More childhood of Lilisa is also shown as well. At the moment, the two has intense amount of chemistry and imo, carrying this anime together. Oh and Lilisa is badass at badminton as well. Bring on more!

Our "yuri" duo rocking hard again. They complement each other so well.

Nice to know more about Lilisa's past.

And now I can't wait to learn more about that pissed off little sister. :P

This was already anime of the season and I loved it, but this episode blew the last two out of the water. This was insane from a character development, technical and yuri perspective 😭 We officially have our band and goal, the road to Fuji Rock starts now!

Otoha and Lilisa’s “collaboration” this week got KINKY, that BDSM vibe came out of nowhere lmao, rockgasm is what I’m gonna start calling these scenes, but I love how they show us what Lilisa and Otoha are feeling during their performances. These after school performances are the only time of the day when they can truly be themselves in get lost in the pure ecstasy of music. Nothing else matters, for just a short span, music and trying to outdo themselves is the only thing on their mind.

From a technical standpoint it still amazes me how far we’ve come with 3DCGI. That battle looked so good, but narratively I love how the fiery animation style reflected Lilisa being angry at herself, Otoha and the world. She’s been hiding all the things she really loves for years and then all of a sudden here comes this girl who doesn’t care at all and just embraces her love of music, so it’s kinda like Lilisa realizing she’s wasted years of her life suppressing her urges and projecting this false version of herself.

“Wanna start a band” and that line right there is basically the start of Lilisa’s new life. She’s gotta stop being mean to Otoha at school tho! She’s such a tsundere πŸ˜‚ Also note that even as she slips up and does “unladylike” stuff at school, all the girls still praise her because news flash, silly, they like and respect YOU! Just be yourself! She’ll continue trying to be the perfect maiden, but I expect her definition of what that looks like will change as the series goes on.

Great episode!

An angry imouto appeared!!
Let's see what she will do.
Lilisa was right anyone who mocks Led Zeppelin is not worth your time.
And the girls finally formed a band but it seems the yelling at each other after their sessions won't change.
It was funny seeing Lilisa going out of control several times.

If you don't want anyone to find out about your identities while performing, just wear a mask and use a stage name instead of your real name. Mortis, Doloris, or Oblivionis, something like that. :)

Creative insult, I'll use it to insult people on the internet. I'm glad they broke their own rules, them hurling insults at each other is one of the best parts of this show.

Another stunning episode, I feel like the artistic direction is getting better and better, so many original and beautiful ideas!! The drums vs guitar battle at the beginning was insane ahah, Ririsa and Otoha are getting closer together at school but at the same time they hate each other when it comes to music, I love this duality xD Also now they have established their band and the goals they aim for... no singer in the band yet and they don't want one but I feel like it could change quickly. That Arisu girl at the end is going to be interesting for sure, I can't wait to see more!!

Love how both Lilisa and Otoha give off yuri fanservice with how they act around each other, but hearing Lilisa talk about doing all this for her mother and getting mad at Otoha for being a refined lady—even after playing such hardcore drum pieces—just pisses me off to a level I don’t even want to think about.

And just like that, Arisu hates Lilisa, when she really should hate her stepmother more for coming into her house.

Otoha sure know how to flips Lilisa button.

Lilis's motivation is really clear, but Otoha's motivation is currently pretty vague and not defined, I wonder what her story is...

Lilisa can finally play guitar seriously again now after she has been holding it in for so long.

Since leaving the guitar that day Lilisa has gone through some unpleasant times, plus now the demands of her to be a proper lady. Regardless, we have to give credit to Otoha who keeps asking Lilisa to play again no matter what.

I am happy that now the band has been formed by the two of them. I am really curious now how they will run the band from now on.

After a pretty intense music session, the girls finally decide to form a band together.
Some nice comedy when Lilisa forgets her 'good girl' persona repeatedly, plus we also got a bit more yuri than the first two episodes I would say.
I love how Otoha can't stop being over affectionate and say misleading things in public.
Uh uh, the little stepsister is mad, let's see how this will pan out.
Also, can't wait to meet the other girls in the band, I wonder if their story is going to be similar or different from Lilisa.

Another fantastic episode, can't wait for more :)

Lilisa and Otoha finally start a band despite clashing with each other although I'm sure about them being an instrumental band unless they tackle other genres to stand out more as there are many rock bands. For example, I play in a instrumental band(a steelband) and we do various genres of music such as Soca, Reggae, Afrobeat, R&B, and Pop in our repertoire. I also would recommend Lilisa as lead singer as she know English(shout out to her VA for her English lines). Both criticisms of Lilisa and Otoha towards each other are warranted though like in most bands. It seems like Lilisa's little step sister is not happy with Lilisa gaining more popularity even though it wasn't on purpose, but it doesn't stop from the little step sister from hating Lilisa's guts for being apart of a rich family due to remarriage.

Feels like every episode, im falling in love with either the expressions or the symbolisms with the flowers (this week's showed it off so perfectly by having the vase break and crash to the ground, much like how the two girl's "elegant" mask wears off when they do their jam sessions) its such a simple thing to show but it gets me

Another direct band reference, this time Led Zeppelin, my personal favorite of the ones mentioned so far, poor little Lilisa is right tho, the other kids would not know that band, let alone Japanese kids lol.

And this was probably the best episode so far, the second jam session went even harder than the first, the CGI wasn’t looking particularly better but I really liked the way they stylized certain parts, really helped with conveying the intensity of the music. And man could they not be more obvious about what they’re alluding to with Otoha’s descriptions lol, I don’t think anyone is getting horny over rocking out in real life but it does work for an anime, and Otoha especially. And hey Lilisa was part of the shit talk this time, I guess that is the only way to win, when verbal abuse is hurled at you, simply hurl it back lol.

And from here the girls decided to become a band, it was inevitable but it’s nice to finally see it happen, and along with that they have the type of band figured out and their goal of making it to Fuji Rock, although I’m a bit surprised they chose an instrumental band. I completely agree that vocals aren’t necessary, but I also think you don’t need great vocals, it just needs to fit the music (this is coming from a deadhead lol), but I think this decision is cool, I’m used to music anime always having a vocalist so this’ll make things more unique, and there are plenty of great instrumental songs out there so I’m sure they’re gonna kill it. Now I’m just curious as to what’s about to happen with Alice, she seems real mad rn but her expression in the OP says otherwise, maybe some rock & roll will change her mind about her sister.

Otoha is such a bitch lol, she really knows how to get on Lilisa's nerves in a way that gets her what she wants.

God the performances are so visceral, I teared up a bit during the first half of this episode because of how intensely emotional it was lol. The homoeroticic rivlary between the two leads is amazing. The part near the end where Lilisa told Otoha her motives for being the noble maiden felt surprisingly sweet. Great episode, this really might end up being my favorite show this season.

What a wild battle between Lilisa and Otoha. It ended in a draw, and now they have formed a gang... of course, without stopping insulting each other. Absolute ladies.

Also, the little details like the sweats and the overlapping flowers give off serious yuri vibes.

I didn't expect her band to be instrumental. We'll have to see if future members will step in as vocalists. As much as I like the idea of an instrumental band, Lilisa's goal of performing at that rock event is going to be difficult, especially without vocals.

Hilarious episode. I'm glad they both took their first steps toward both of their dreams; Otoha, to become big playing the drums while losing herself in front of a big audience, whereas Lilisa wanna protect her mom's place in the Suzunomiya Family.

All the luck be to both of you, and i'm super excited for what you're gonna do from now onwards, but just a tip for thought, you don't suddenly drop a habit, you do it gradually, so regarding the slurs, perfectly normal to start the same way you've always been.

Notwithstanding, do it without hesitation, realize afterwards that it's your first mistakes, and take it down gradually realizing both your mistakes & regrets, we don't want that occur at Fuji Rock in front of the big audience we were talking about above, and you lose your family name, Lilisa, so take care!

Lilisa being a Zep fan already makes her girl of the season. As a massive classic rock fan, I hope we see some more direct reference and mentions to the greats like in K-On.

As a big CG hater, it was actually fine in this episode and the jam session was great. After episode 1 I was a bit skeptical, but if they stay at this quality and better for future episodes where they're playing, might be anime of the season for me.

This anime is 99% carried by seiyuu performances.
(The cliched school setting is farcical, the blonde's "downturned antlers" look outright stupid and the mo-capped / CGI rock performance visuals often stutter - not as stilted as Bandori MyGo / AveMuji, but nowhere near GBC level.)

Yeah I’ve seen people saying that, I guess it’s wrong to call it CGI then, but imo it doesn’t look that great, I do like that the music is synced up with the playing of the instruments thanks to the mocap but I think the character models could be better, like Lilisa’s massive hair looks pretty stiff in those scenes. You could say I’ve been spoiled by Girls Band Cry because that show looked amazing lol, but I don’t dislike what we have here either, I think it looks good, just not great.

I love the little moments in this series like Lilisa exclaiming "sweet" after scoring a run in badminton, that was just super cute imho~!<3 X'39

Also, about the sister, I think she secretly likes Lilisa or rock music, since we see her chassing Lilisa in the OP and seemingly gushing over the band?^^3 Not 100% sure yet, but pretty excited with the direction this is taking! It is pretty goofy how insane they get when playing their instruments tho - and how much Lilisa goes in these insane inner monologues. This anime just gets better and better: it's probably top 2 of the season for me. It's so over the top to the point where it gets taken seriously again. The ridiculous mixture of extreme dehydration gone through by the girls, constant in-your-face symbolism, and of course on-the-nose lesbianism continues to be great. The final joke in this episode with the "no hurling abuse" was hilarious; I knew exactly what was going to happen but the impact was not softened at all.

Also, I guess the elite all-girls school is filled of closet lesbians. How else would you explain the fangirling of Lilisa after she accidentally let loose?

I like the characters. Suzunomiya and Kurogane are both idiots in their own way, with Suzunomiya perhaps being the bigger idiot. Judging from the post-credits scene, Lilisa's little sister looks fun as well.
