Damn, this new version of Rin is scary. No joke, he's even more chaotic than the first time he unleashed those blue flames.

Finally got more of Yukio this season, almost forgot he was still in the present timeline but he had to recollect himself. Shimei's state of mind got very emotional as well. Seems in these recent episodes, her emotions are all over the place.

Two roles that catch my eyes, first is Mephisto, need no more explanation as his power allow him to do everything, including enjoy the show, second is Shima, I find the fact that he work for both side and both side know that to be interesting.

Todo may be evil but, got a job for his daughter. Parenting!

These type of episodes that makes me wonder, how many became religious after discovering that demons exist?

Change of a more "light-hearted" thing, Shiemi 'kidnapping'.

Sounds bad sleep on a toilet floor, but honestly that is one of the cleanest floors in the whole world.

Mostly stuff from the present, today. A lot going down. Yukio meeting with Lucifer, and Shiemi meeting with that secret society that spirits her away. Than Rin going back to the Past.

Finally Shiemi realize she's always been in love with Rin, when she thought lost him forever, that's how she realized how important Rin is to her life. Shiemi x Rin ship is awesome, so does for Shiro x Yuri, I really love those two ships so much. I'm so ready for the next episodes.

No way the episode ended like that LOL I swear these episode feel way too short

Shiemi finally accepted that she's in love with Rin! <3

Shiemi's reaction to seeing Rin in the bathroom was so good, and they both made each other feel better (*^-^*)

And the Blue Night has finally started, 7 episode in... I need the next episode!

Also omg Shiemi looks beautiful in that outfit! <3

Uh, I don't need any dumb mc-centered romance in my plot-heavy shounen. Especially as unconvincing and eye-rolling as this. I almost friggin dropped the show in the beginning of the Shiname Illuminati part because of how silly, filler-ish and annoying it was. It's nothing but a detriment and a waste of time every.single.time. If I wanted all that awkward blushing, stuttering, misunderstandings and love triangles I'd go watch some coming-of-age romcom or Okada-style teen melodrama. It's telling how the moment the forced teen romance part is over, it's instantly back to pure kino.

Since the last 2 seasons I've been so conflicted with Shiemi, but fuck her bro, she sucks, I hate her, this show is really at it's best when she is not around lol, and now out of nowhere we get her lore? What the fuck is happening, like, some dudes show up, she supposedly has no idea who they are, they tell her to come with them and she is like "oh yeah sure take me with you", and once they do she is like "oh shit I'm scared" over and over and over again, what the fuck is wrong with her, like for real, dumb ass bitch I hope she fucking dies or something smh

And Kamiki gets so confussed when Shiemi leaves, girl is legit lost, she is so real for that, she is the only one with real reactions lmao

I swear 90% of the problems in this show happen because people just don't talk or explain things over, if it's not a main focus for the Okumura brothers, then they don't explain shit, it has became so bad that now even their own characters are getting lost in the plot lmao

Other than the Shiemi shit, this episode didn't had anything important really, Rin came back to the present to sleep, and then went back to the past, that's all.
It's so funny how Rin internally was like "I WANT TO DIE AND KILL EVERYONE WITH ME" while Shiemi is like "omg he is so cuteee 😭😭😭", last time she saw him he almost killed everyone, and then almost died himself, and this is the 1st thing she thinks of when she sees him again? Like I said, what a dumb ass bitch she is.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. She's a particularly unbearable cross between a completely flat character and a saintly Mary Sue, the way she's forced into the story and down the reader's throat with all those hideous romantic undertones derails and hinders the plot. There's nothing relatable or natural or human about her, she's basically a plot device for the love triangle with the brothers (and even that looks forced and unconvincing af) and to look cute and oh so saintly next to the others that it makes me retch. Is she Katou's self-insert or something or her idea of men's ideal woman in the form of a meek dumb saintly lamb? Either way, having to watch her ruin the pace and the story itself with her scenes is friggin painful.

The situation continues to spiral into chaos, engulfing both our protagonists and the world around them. Nothing seems capable of halting the inexorable descent of Blue Exorcist’s universe since the artificial gate to Gehenna was torn open.

The present our heroes must endure has taken the darkest possible turn. Rin has vanished entirely from Shiemi’s sight, Yukio has cast his lot with the Illuminati in a desperate attempt to awaken the dormant power within him, and Shiemi herself has joined the ranks of deserters after being "taken" by that enigmatic group—an entity whose shadow looms over the most obscure corners of the Order, as we have glimpsed in previous episodes.

(A brief aside: for those wondering why Shiemi chose to follow the Grigore Sedes, the answer was subtly woven into her conversation with her mother at the start of the previous season. It was that very exchange that led her to forsake both her training and the path of the exorcist.)

Amahara, a garden once spoken of in reverent tones, veils something deeply unsettling beneath its idyllic façade. Since its first mention, it has been portrayed as a mythical paradise, an oasis of unparalleled beauty. Shiemi’s grandmother filled her heart with visions of this promised land, but reality has proven far more disquieting. The entire place feels hollow, as if its soul has been wrenched away, leaving behind an eerie, lifeless shell. Its residents, rather than exuding warmth, seem eerily mechanical—closer to automatons than living beings.

Yet nothing is more disturbing than Jeremiah himself. His mere presence on screen exudes an oppressive dread, a creeping unease that seeps into every frame. The scene where he looms behind Shiemi sent an involuntary shudder through me—an embodiment of something utterly repulsive, something profoundly wrong.

And yet, amid this suffocating despair, a moment of reprieve. The chance encounter between Rin and Shiemi brings a flicker of light to an otherwise inescapable darkness. They had not seen each other since the incident on the bridge, but now, in this fleeting instant, they find an undeniable truth: their hearts have always been entwined. I was particularly moved by Shiemi’s reflection at the episode’s end. She has always seen the Okumura brothers as her rays of sunlight, yet in truth, she herself is their light, the guiding warmth that enables Rin to conquer his own monstrous reflection.

Special mention must go to the incredible, albeit short, Satan scene. The animation was really good. It was a feast for the eyes.

But this respite, masterfully orchestrated by the cunning Mephisto, was merely the calm before the storm. Now, we are thrust backward into the past, to the genesis of this world’s most harrowing tragedy. What unfolds next will be nothing short of cataclysmic—the final descent into darkness, an unbearable weight upon our hearts.

Let the Blue Night begin.

It's not even that subtle imo (also Izumo basically said "who are you" two seconds before) , but it's the same guy who said to have skipped episode 8 because "Shiemi and christmas party sucks" , so i guess it makes sense.

And of course she is scared , how else was she supposed to react being alone in such a creepy world filled with zombie faces and that Jeremiah guy?Even the OST was unsettling asf.

Also it's funny to talk about her being a plot device when it was literally hinted the first minute she appeared in season 1 , heck , this episode even mentioned that scene (her grandma talking about Amahara garden).
Her being able to summon Nee-chan in the beginning of S1 despite having 0 knowledge was already suspicous as hell.

I do agree that the Satan scene looked great (also the way he was drawn).

@SimplePseudo I preferred to be measured. We never really know the limit of our neighbour's bad faith. But it's very clear that something is going on with Shiemi and that she's not just ‘scripted meat’. What you say about this person is also very true.

I've seen him complain about Blue Exorcist several times now, and there's a question on my mind: Why does he continue?
Then, if he skips episodes because they don't like the characters, he's not really in a position to have a say in how the story develops.

Plus, you're totally right. The whole environment surrounding the Grigore Sedes was disturbing from the 1st moment.

However, in view of the skips he makes, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to only half-watch the series from episode 1.

Thank you Voln for the final scene <3

At first, I was also thought Shiemi is a clone or something... Guess she's someone from Grigori family....
That Jeremiah... Isn't he one of Lucifer brother during those past event???

Mephisto asking if Rin rest well... INSIDE A LUXURY TOILET.

I don't know about Shiemi love Rin... I don't see them... How Kamiki sees in them? Sure Rin did showing a crush moment toward Shiemi.. But Shiemi... I don't see any of them...
