Don’t worry, it’s fashionable for ‘anime fans’ to hate anime these days. I liked it, but I’m old fashioned. Just look at the whining about Sakamoto Days or Übel Blatt if you want to see how ungrateful people can get!

People are allowed to dislike things without being ungrateful. The arrogance of calling people ungrateful for disliking something you liked is astounding. It’s been a few years so my memory is fuzzy but I remember it being boring, poorly paced with new characters that were annoying alongside old characters being written significantly worse. The animation was huge step down compared with something made literally 10 years prior, music wasn’t anything special and I also seem to remember voice acting being pretty flat.
It’s great that you enjoyed it and don’t let other people’s opinions change that, but that doesn’t make them ungrateful or that they are joining in the trend of hating on what’s popular.

I love Season 1 but when I saw Season 2 it looks like completely different anime, the visual looks like some cheap hentai.

I think it's largely also because this aired after the light novel series ended. The ending of the novel series was a huge mess and betrayed everything that had happened in the story for 99% of the fans that had been following the series and buying the books. All of the most beloved characters were completely ruined in the last volume by the author's decisions, which have destroyed their career. Personally, I have never watched S2 or gone back to the novels because this is one of the few series where the ending absolutely ruined it for me. I can still look fondly back on the journey of many series where the ending wasn't up to standard, but this is not one of them. I can spoil the ending for anyone interested.

I barely remember what happened this season but I remember just dreading having to watch the next episode. Season 1 was fun but season 2 was not. Don’t know what the difference was, because I genuinely don’t care to look into it, but it was bad.

I mean it was ok.....like i enjoyed it....but no plot development was there

Why are the ratings so low.....is it that bad.... because personally I am enjoying the show....it's fun... Action is good and all but I love the charecter interactions...

Yaa.....It just got so boring in S2

People really disliked the art and animation but I feel like it was just nostalgia because I watched them back to back for the first time when the second season aired and there was barely a difference. The story was slightly worse too but I didn't think it was as bad as everyone made it out to be.

I like it, when I watched it I was re watching the first season for the first time in years so when I immediately started watching the second season with the first fresh in my mind it was greatly off putting but I continued watching it as that was some I could eventually get over.

multiple things
decrease in animation quality even though the studio is capable of producing good animation

slow/boring plot, it sort of makes season two feel like giant filler. Nothing of note really happens, if season 3 comes out you could genuinely just skip it, and nothing would REALLY change

This season really tried to fast track the relationship between Emilia and Maou, which overall makes it feel less interesting

I read LN and the animation in S2 really came close to the art in novels. I respect that.
I mean, it was fine. Not great but not terrible either. If there was a S3, I would like to see it despite the ending that really was bad. But I like the characters overall.

First of all the ending of LN really sour the series
Secondly a lot of people including myself preferred the animation/art of season 1, I am not saying S2 animation is bad
That is a matter of preference

Ungratefulness has nothing to do with this

the animation quality kinda sucked compared to the first season. also some stuff was changed and skipped and it cut off before the big arc abour Emi and her family.

Though honestly after that arc things start to go down hill and yhe ending of the books left me wishing it had been more satisfying. I would reccomend reading the books from that point for the Emi arc and also for Maou's last bad ass moment. god I wish we had gotten that animated with his theme.

I thought it was good. I dont remember the plotline being “boring” or the quality being bad, but I wouldn’t really care either way. To me, any adaptation is better than no adaptation.
