Yeah, it ended about how I expected it to end.... is what I would say if it wasn't for that FUCKING POST CREDIT SCENE HELLO???/ What the actual HELLLLL. But yeah, other than that, episode did play out how I expected it to, a fight between "Guang" and Vein.

This season wasn't anything too special, nor too bad either. Was nice to get some more Link Click and all, but yeah, just give us that season three already man lol. That OP won't be forgotten though.

This whole season introduced way more questions than it answered, lol.

Just to organize my thoughts a bit:

  • Season 1 and 2 are in the same timeline.
  • In the S1/S2 timeline, it's a "temporary good end" as the protagonists haven't been killed by Vein (yet). Season 2 reveals that Lu Guang has been repeating time since he met Cheng Xiaoshi (presumably in a separate timeline where everyone dies).
  • This season reveals the particulars about how Lu Guang has been going back. It seems to imply (this episode particularly), that this is his "last attempt" so he's trying some extraordinary measures.
  • One of the measures is inserting a major event (what exactly?) into the past and seeing what happens, which is a departure from Lu Guang's usually planned and measured approach.
  • Cheng Xiaoshi's mom is also independently trying to change the past to rescue his dad. She was possessing Wang Qing from when the photo was taken until the end of the scene at least.
  • How did she get the blue-eye power temporarily? What did that scene mean?
  • Not sure how Vein was attacked by Lu Guang? And how he's now alive again?
  • Liu Xiao appears many times during this season but never really gets significant development, but he's still pretty important and it's implied he's the central antagonist?

I'm most curious how they're going to tie this stuff back into the S1/S2 timeline because S1/S2's timeline was in the "temporary good end". Maybe S1/S2's timeline is the ultimate good end where Lu Guang manages to save everyone?

One of the measures is inserting a major event (what exactly?) into the past and seeing what happens, which is a departure from Lu Guang's usually planned and measured approach.

Lu Guang tries to change history by killing CXS murder which is Vein in Bridon.

How did she get the blue-eye power temporarily? What did that scene mean?

Lu Guang also has the power to control people (it hasn't been revealed how he can do this yet). The blue eye and the shots where Lu Guang is waving his hand like a puppet master are supposed to be hints to the viewers on what he is doing.

Not sure how Vein was attacked by Lu Guang? And how he's now alive again?

There was a hint in Ep 5 in Wang Qing's ID card that she has special powers. However, the hint also foreshadowed that it won't be enough to kill Vein.
So Lu Guang controlled Wang Qing and used her power to attempt to kill Vein. We don't know why Vein didn't die though.

Cheng Xiaoshi's mom is also independently trying to change the past to rescue his dad. She was possessing Wang Qing from when the photo was taken until the end of the scene at least.

Cheng Xiaoshi's mom kept on looking out the window where Lu Guang was standing, indicating that she is well aware that he is messing with time and interfering with her plans. During her conversation with Cheng Xiaoshi, the explained that 10 years ago, after the fire, she met with Wang Qing in the hospital and told her that if Wang Qing meets Qing Xiaoshi in the future, create the condition so that CXS mother can talk to him. Which is why in this episode, once Wang Qing realized who Cheng Xiaoshi was, she took a photo so CXS mother can possess her body and talk to her son (since they both have the same powers.)

Well... Guess it really was just 6 episodes. This final confrontation felt rushed and, well, sort of unsatisfying for me. I get that it's just a prequel, but it almost gets annoying how much we're left in the dark about everything constantly. Still don't know anything about the dad. For some reason that girl is his mom now. Xiao Liu is watching movies, acting like a mastermind for some reason while having done almost nothing. I laughed out loud at the credit scene, it was just silly.

Yeah... Over all, worst episode of the season by far. It's really too bad.

so someone is the "fake death ability user"... is it vein or liu xiao as he is the mastermind...

and perhaps lu guang isn't leading on to the extent of his own abilities either as he was acting like the puppeteer, similarly associated with liu xiao.

@DonghuaFan What do you think about similar scenes at the end of the last episode of 2nd season and in the first episode of Bridon Arc? Have you noticed that they are different? In season 2 we are not shown that Lu Guang is wounded, while here he is wounded by a gunshot probably. Plus if you pay attention to the table at the moment of moving into the picture: in this season there are lamps and books on the table, while in the second season, there is nothing on the table. Does this mean these are two different timelines and Chen Xiaoshi died more than once? I don't believe the creators could allow such an obvious gaffe in the drawing.

So, you don't understand anything that happened, and because of that it's the worst episode of the season? ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Alexcav999

I get the general idea of what happened and why. I just didn't like the execution of it all. And worst of this season is nowhere near bad. I found every episode amazing, most being 10 or 9/10s, but this one was simply like a 7,5/10. I can't help it when the climax feels rushed. :/
