This series is full of badass characters tbh. Though for now, we’ve just started and have seen only Sakamoto and Shin, but yeah, we’d see a LOT of them going forward… good guys and bad guys alike. That being that though, great to see one of the best boys around, Nagumo, already making his appearance this episode. He’s a disguise master and yeah, if it wasn’t for Sakamoto talking THAT much, pretty sure nothing would’ve given away that it was actually Nagumo lol. Guy is here for a very long stay, and looking forward to it as well, but hey, seeing Sakamoto’s plan of staying low getting busted within a few seconds was actually pretty hilarious.

Those assassins need to learn though. Just because he’s fat, they are taking his bounty for granted lol. The amusement park stuff does give more relevance to Shin in the story. I mean it can’t always be like Sakamoto covering for him right? Moreover he was with Aoi and Hana, so yeah, he had his own battles to fight there lol. Doesn’t wanna get doubted again for returning to his old ways after all. Though yeah, that entire fight of Shin with that rando assassin would again be put under scanner, for obvious reasons, because x panel doesn’t look as good as it did in the manga, though yeah, need to accept and move on at this point, and btw, it didn’t look bad at all. Loved Sakamoto’s commentary there tho xD

Another amazing episode. We meet Nagumo. And, many more assassins are on the way to kill Sakamoto but he's ready and he has two sidekicks on his side who will fight for him when needed. Shin gave his all in this episode for Sakamoto and his family. What a great guy he is. I love him already.

That fight was really good. Sakamoto assisting the fight was just top-tier. Loved it so much. Can't wait for more.

Lu may be interruptive of her work, and Shin not having the best of ideals, but Sakamoto will always find a compromise somehow. But what's this, a doppelganger?

Clearly, both Sakamotos look the same, but it's fellow hitman Nagumo coming in with a warning of Sakamoto's 1 billion yen bounty from the JAA, though he has a fair warning back to them as well.

Of course, both Aoi and Hana going Sugar Park that has all 3 ex-hitmen wreaving their heads, it's all the more important for both Shin and Lu to oust enemies so that Sakamoto can have his unadulterated family time, be it regular hitmen or one of the bosses of the JAA, whenever and wherever they may be. And one of them may have slipped past Shin's clairvoyance, but he's not going to go down fighting despite the strong but slight poison knife job that impairs his sight, putting a show as Sugar Bunny for the families thanks to Sakamoto guiding his every move.

Insane disguise, but outstanding job done, Shin.

Exciting episode. At first I was like "Shin's mindreading ability is already useless by ep3?" and when he's in mascot costume I'm like "oh, so mindreading can be used in this way too!"

Funny how janitor assassin guy ended up going down with more "vibes" than a bunch of kids cheering for you getting beaten up, let alone by a blind guy in a bunny suit.

Also, a fighting game with thought-based move inputs is a sick idea ngl (granted the responsiveness is as snappy as Shin's)

Yeah, a pretty on fire episode!

New guy Nagumo we meet and he's just one of many to come. Animation I say was still as good or as consistent as the previous ones.

Shin being the homie he is in this episode is to be respected the most for his shining moments as a true sidekick would do!

Ok, after debating it for a few weeks I finally gave this show a shot and... well as of right now it's not very impressive.

While the premise sounds like it has potential considering how Sakamoto as an ex assassin has to keep his family alive without killing anybody, everything outside the action scenes where he was involved have not really been that engaging. Lu feels like a background character already, Shin tries to compensate how little Sakamoto talks and so far we've only encounteres some no name villains that never made me guess who was going to win the fight. In other words, I'm waiting for that impactful episode to come out while we're still in the introduction phase. Maybe there was a better way to go about it.

Both op and ed songs were just alright as well, nothing to write home about.

It was quite a surprise when Sakamoto "spoke", only to discover that he was an impostor: Nagumo is indeed a master of disguise.

It's a common trope in action series that, when a retired protagonist confronts his former organisation, the villains underestimate him despite knowing he was considered a living legend. The pizza delivery guy, the caretaker and the guy who thought he was hip learned not to judge based on appearances, especially when it comes to someone like Sakamoto who protects his family. Shin did a great job helping Sakamoto, he's a great partner.

Now we're fighting on a rollercoaster. I assume things will only get more batshit from here. Appreciated the fight Shin put up in this episode. Given how Sakamoto and these other hitmen have been shown to be able to resist Shin's mind reading, I can only imagine the threats that must be coming up.

The 3 episodes rule is over…

It was a nice family episode that started in weird way, but well that’s Sakamoto’s life now lol. This is better than episode 2, which was awful the more I think about it. The content of the episode was alright and cool, btw I feel they removed something here from manga, but someone could jog my memories on this. I am not talking about chapters 2 and 3, I know those already.

Now let’s go into the big criticisms of this adaptation, since 3 episodes are here now.

So the stiff frames with added effects is getting old now. The fight scene was okay. This really needed a better treatment, and btw that filter going on to the art style makes the anime look ugly, they need to remove that completely. The composition looks wack and there’s more to say but I think I made my point so far.

Is this the worse adaptation of all time? No. However is this doing justice to the manga? No. When I was really saying mid before, really encapsulates this adaptation so far the best way. It’s not bad but not good, it’s just average. And before defenders come here and attack me, I care about the manga and I want better. And no I amnot saying JJK2 or DS treatment, that’s so on the nose why you never watched other animes this season either. There are almost 40% animes of this season looking and animated better than this. This is C tier.

I will from now on not say anymore criticisms anymore till the end of this season. Will collect everything and say it on the last episode. I do hope it gets better, but that’s just pure cope.

Episode 4/5

Nagumo makes his first appearance and immediately warns Sakamoto that a horde of assassins will come after him.

The chase starts with a pizza guy and then moves on to that poison guy. Meanwhile Shin is doing his best to protect Sakamoto's day lol

I liked the fight, there was a lot of movement even though the animation was a bit stiff, but it was still a decent fight. The soundtrack also helped and gave an atmosphere of suspense, that said...good episode

@rasterman7 We’re only three episodes in, of course we’re not gonna get an impactful episode yet lol.

One of my favorite characters of the series, my GOAT Nagumo finally makes his debut. And he’s voiced by exactly who I expected to voice him lol. It was only a brief appearance today but he’ll be around long-term going forward.

Shin’s fight against the vibes guy was one of my favorite moments from early Sakamoto Days. Sakamoto coaching Shin in his thoughts while Shin reads his mind was a cool application of his ability. The animation was better than expected for me which was a nice surprise, complaining about it won’t change anything so I’ve learned to just take it for what it is 🤷

Yea the John wick vibes are getting even stronger with everyone going after Sakamoto because of the bounty. So many assassins with different abilities and a family to protect now.. idk how Sakamoto’s gonna do it without killing but I’m here for it. I think the complaints about the animation were so overblown this shit looks fine.

Day out at the theme park and need to protect your family and innocent bystanders from assassins?! Yea that’s straight out of Chad Stahelski’s playbook. Very reminiscent of John fighting Common’s character in the NYC subway and somehow no one saw it lol. S/O shin for being MVP of the ep and ensuring Sakamoto got to enjoy the day out with his wife and kid. Sakamoto giving him fighting movement instructions telepathically was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Dope use of his ability.

Another solid episode and I imagine the difficulty of protecting his family is only going to increase as more and more powerful assassins come after them.

@komic I`m sorry, but I have to agree that it might be the case, if it keeps happening over and over. I get that in the 2nd episode Sakamoto might have used some super speed or somehow teleported back to the roof, but here, his family would need to teleport with him. I won`t go into detail with how Shin managed to hear his thoughts at that speed and a radius of 30 metres. Supernatural is fine, but it should have at least some rules or it becomes lazy writing. That is my opinion. You may see it differently and not mind it and that is perfectly fine. Thank you for the reply and enjoy the anime you like.

Yeah. What does the organization have to gain by killing a hitman who retired 5 years ago and isn't a threat anymore? More like they'd lose 1 billion yen if someone did kill him.

Nagumo seems like a cool character. He's probably psychic like Shin. Would like to see him appear again. Doppelganger Sakamoto was funny.

Shin's fight scene in this episode was really cool. I liked how he fought the assassin by reading Sakamoto's thoughts. But how the heck did he survive being poisoned? All those movements should've killed him faster.
