Poor Ema, she had a good lead but her body couldn't take any more.
Even Tonbo could feel the pressure at the end but went back into Tonbo mode to hit that incredible shot.
That was unfortunate for Tsubara, thankfully she decided not to blame Ema for that.
Now to just wait and see if someone gets a birdie to win.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

This is more than just "can Tonbo handle the pressure", it's "can this anime handle the pressure", and the answer to both questions is yes.

The one who got pressure most from Tonbo's play was Igaiga.
The depictions they went different directions for their next shots were good metaphor for their standpoints.
I didn't know that you could approach through a neighboring course.
There was a scene that the angle of the slope was mentioned. It was a lame adaptation. There was a mention about the relationship between the slope and the distance gained in the comics. If the slope is 2.5 degree, a ball goes twice further than flat.
Though it's the same to the comics, it made kind of confusion that their plays for course #16 & 17 were skipped. Anyway, Tonbo finished her first challenge for a game with satisfaction.
It was the tensest episode. Adding Ema who has a handicap as a character made the story deep.

Poor Ema. She's in trouble. Her ball is on asphalt and she's already a stroke behind everyone else. I believe she can get it back, but the chances are slim at best. Hinoki is in the best position right now, but I kind of want her to lose. Not because I don't like her, I do, but because if she loses I believe it will finally be the catalyst for her to snap back at her abusive father - something she needs desperately to get off her chest. Tsubura is going to try emulate Tonbo's shot, I'm sure of it. If she succeeds she'll probably win, but does she have what it takes to make that shot? I'm not sure she does at this point. She's competitive, adaptable and intuitive, but she still lacks Tonbo's one quality that make these kinds of shots possible - the "let's give it a shot" attitude. So far she's been playing great, but she needs to let go of her own preconceptions in order to win.

When Tonbo missed that first putt... I think I screamed "NO!!!" louder than Vader when he learned Padme was dead. She's still in the running, but still, the fact she finished first and we already know her score means she's probably not going to win. I wasn't counting on it, she's a complete newbie, but at least she learned the pressure and joy of competitive golf :)

It's the first time I find myself rooting for literally everyone in a sports anime. I don't want any of them to lose (except Hinoki, but for a positive reason). They are all main girls to me.

Ema's left ankle clearly taking its toll with the final holes not giving her the score she needs, as Tsubura lags a bit behind and Hinoki gains speed, it's both girls and Tonbo at now one under par for the final hole. And with pressure, comes uncertainty of Tonbo starting to lose her focus, all she needs to do is to get her head into the game and make the hole.

With Ema clearly being in no position to play, but still insisting for the final run, Tonbo makes her fateful choices to make it to the green. Tsubura acknowledging Ema's 10-year crisis of overcoming her pain to finish the Open for once, with the challenge of Tonbo making into the green from the spot that she took to earn her the birdie...and it ends up being short to end on the same score she's stuck on.

Now it's up to Hinoki and Tsubura to see if they can keep her off the position.
