Does anybody know how many episodes of this anime will come out?
And will it cover everything in one season or will it have multiple seasons?

Most people seem to believe that it will be two cours, so 20+ episodes.
The Manga apparently is pretty big, so a 20+ eps anime will not cover everything.
I've read that with current pacing, the anime with have over 120 episodes, so that would mean at least 5 seasons of 25 eps each.

@Dan_ALves No need for a full adaptation imo, a "best of" approach with 7-8 cours would be totally fine

@Pillsbury_Uchiha Source?

Cause i haven't seen anyone refutable say anything about it. Notably we still don't have an official episode count six episodes into the show which i almost never see, this can also be attributed to the show being consecutive 2-cour or long-running.

I don't think so, I'm watching the remake and the original at the same time and the remake is fitting the contents from two eps of the original into one episode. I assume it won't adapt filler episodes either, at this rate it'll be 35-40 eps for a full adaptation with no filler eps.

@Kaibutsu77 It´s possible you´re right. As I said, I´m just commenting based on what I heard. This question has been asked before and I´m just saying what I saw others say.

@Fork95 That sounds half-assed. Either adapt it properly, or leave it be.

@Dan_ALves I love Ranma ½ but is so episodic that most of the people would never enjoy something so long nowadays, I think that adapt ~60-70% of it is for the better

Gintama manga has over 700 chapters, and despite being mostly episodic, it got a complete adaptation. I think it only skipped 1 chapter. Hoping the Ranma 1/2 remake is the same. Would be pretty lame if it didn't adapt (almost) every chapter like the Gintama anime, which the manga has 300 more chapters than the Ranma manga.

@Fork95 They could end up doing that, but until then I will always expect a full adaptation, otherwise what´s the point of making it? Or remaking it, in this case?

@Dan_ALves It's hard to explain if you haven't read the manga but there are a lot of stories that are fine, yes, but at same time are "useless".
You could call them "manga fillers". This is the structure of the manga because in the 80s/90s was pretty normal.

I would watch til the end, but how many people would watch 120 episodes of something that has highs and lows? I think that ~80eps instead would be better from a "marketing" perspective

@Fork95 Well, if you say the manga is structured like that, then maybe your way is right. Maybe Mappa can release those as OVA´s or something. But still, even if it´s ~80 episodes, that´s still at least 3 seasons of 25 eps.

I personally hope they split it up into cours or seasons, as it makes batch-binge watching easier on a weekend holiday vs watching weekly on my busy schedule.

It seems like it will end in 1 cours this season as A-Rank Party wo Ridatsu shita Ore wa, Moto Oshiego-tachi to Meikyuu Shinbu wo Mezasu. will replace in the same timeslot next season. I hope there's more and it's planned split cours.

I think its going to be 2 cours but split and not back-to-back. What we're getting right now is the first half of Season 1, while the 2nd half will probably run in the Spring.

Yea, most people are thinking 2 cours of possibly with break in between and not one continues cour.

Most also think they're going to just adopt some of the manga, possibly the beginning and like half of the middle and half of the end while skipping majority of stuff that resembles fillers.

This is a current trend with new remake and remasters. A lot of other series have done the same to remove fillers or filler-like arcs and just go straight to important plots to shorten the anime down to just a few episodes instead of like 10+ years ago where some series comes by 50+ continues episodes. Mainly it's done this way now is due to more anime series being made compared to before. So there's a lot more competition on anime getting into airing times or getting animated. (IE: like 10 series per cour before, now like 20 series per cour, etc etc)

So now they try to make series shorter and shorter to fit schedules.
