Great episode. I thought I would've found a hint to Makoto being the murder but they already showed the position of the box. I can't seem to find a motive for him doing it either though. But what I'm pretty much sure of, is that the shock Kazumi died from was seeing Makoto covered in some blood from the murder.

I was quite surprised to find out that an episode was finally released and it is an interesting episode to boot! I'm not sure if it was worth the wait, but I was glad to see this series being updated.

There was one tender moment that I liked, it was when Shion was in her room and she gets a text message from Saitou – I can't get enough of these two crazy kids interacting with each other – even if it's via a mobile! XD

In any case, we were left with quite the cliff-hanger for quite a while, but this episode manages to moves the story forward and apparently the noose has not only switched heads, but started to tighten against Hani Makato's neck (Meijin). It seems like he's somewhat connected with the murderer, if he's not the murderer himself. Apparently, he was there, but I'm not sure what his motive may have been – perhaps we'll see more of his back story in a future episode. In any case, I'm looking forward to the release of the next episode. =)

Only three more episodes!

Hanin wa .... :pointed at blank space: omae XD. Really can't wait to see next episode, hope live-evil will release them in batch 20 - 22. Well it's not 100% percent that Makoto is the killer, don't close any possibility till the end.
Really touched see Satoru watched the homemade video that Kazumi made, begin to like Satoru character.

Well, that was a twist!

I never thought about Hani-mejin as the murder. Never.

It's pointing towards Meijin as the murderer and I thought that he was for the longest time, but there's still one thing about him that I'm not sure of. At the beginning, he asked who "that" girl was when referring to Shion. I might be wrong, since it's been a while since I've seen episode 1 or 2. That could of course also just be an early sign of vagueness in order to seclude the murderer image. Anyway, the mystery is still there and there are still no confirmations. I loved this episode. There was still a lot of tension, especially with Meijin calling his brother and the other guy. This episode also made Satoru look way differently from before and it's like almost all of his cold-hearted attitude is gone.

It's great that Shion no Ou is back! And this episode was spectacular once again. I can't wait for the match between Hani-Meijin and Shion. The animation was nice too (improved from the last couple episodes anyway). One of the sitting positions that Satoru was in looked pretty slick.

Great episode. I can't figure Meijin's motive to kill Shion's parents. The mystery is finally clear up. I can't wait to watch the final match between Shion and Meijin.

Well I would be impressed if they managed to plausibly pin the murder on anyone but the meijin now. It seems fairly cliched and formulaic to have the early suspicion fall on Satoru, then shift to Makoto, but at least we should get a dramatic, Shion VS Murderer rematch!

the only motive i can think of was he wated to make a female shougi player to crumble the current system but that seems like a stupid way of doing it although the only reason shion is so great is because of all that she went through if it wasnt for the murder she wouldnt be a great shougi player

Yet, those hands will never hold anything,
So as I pray, unlimited blade works"

Well I hope the reason for killing Kazumi and Shion's parents isn't so shallow and simple.

He probably killed Kazumi to cover his tracks, having asked her to record that video.

I still think he killed Shion's parents to cut all her attachments and allow her to be fully dedicated to Shogi like he was. Perhaps the same is true for his brother.

I'm still not totally convinced it's Meijin. It could also be someone who knows him really well and wanted to set him up. And that would probably mean Satoru.

Damn Satoru is actually a good character?! But damn that's some crazy stuff happening, so it's almost the confirmation that Hani is the real killer!

I was hoping against hope that it isn't the Meijin because he looks like such a cool ossan despite my suspicions dating as far back as when he said to Satoru that he too was mulling over his next move even when their mother died, but it seems it's impossible to deny that he is the murderer anymore.

Makoto better have a hell of a motive. I won't buy that he's even remotely insane, and even wanting to create a powerful opponent seems shaky at best. He's already pushing to unify the Shogi world rather than keep it split.

I don't see how someone of his composure and intellect could rationally consider murdering people for the sake of creating a revenge-driven Shogi rival. Not to mention, I feel like he has even less motive for killing Kazumi.

There's probably a small chance that he isn't the actual murderer, but even if he isn't, he clearly has firsthand knowledge of the entire situation.

Didn't think I'd feel bad for Satoru, but Kazumi seemed like a really nice woman, and she had a positive impression of him. It's easy to see why he has an abrasive nature, considering his past.
