Kids are stupid. Like really stupid. Stupid to the point where calling another guy cute is considered the same as "liking" them. Again, stupid. It is sad that people found out that Makoto was crossdressing. But who found out at first, is my question. I mean, there's not THAT much clues to give it away is there. Ryuuji's a FUCKING REAL ONE THOUGH DAMN. Dude didn't hesitate to swing the MINUTE he saw those pictures of Makoto. Full punch and everything. Deserved tbh, fuck that weirdo. Like who's really weirder at that point. Whole flashback made me forget the fact that it started because Ryuuji got caught with the photo. To no one's surprise, he pulls the stupid "oblivious to seeing it" act, but Ryuuji knew something was up thankfully.... AND FUCKING CONFESSED TO HIM WHAT...???? No one's really even to blame in this situation as well. But either way, didn't make a difference other than to make that drama for a good three minutes or so, because they still ended up going out... I guess. And on the other side of things we got Saki's grandma in the hospital... It's just one thing after another isn't it :) |

RAHHHHHH A CONFESSION AND THEM DATING IN THE SAME EPISODE??! HOLD ON IM SCREAMING ๐ญ Dunno where to start with this one it was so damn peak and I’m so happy. Feels like everything went from 0-100 in the span of 5 minutes and I’m so ok with it Ryuji and Makoto backstory was truly beautiful, Ryuji’s love for Makoto is so pure and unselfish I can’t get enough of seeing him describe them. Piercing his ears so Makoto isn’t the only one being talked about, not afraid to be seen with Makoto and standing up to the bullies in class making fun of Makoto. We all need a friend like that in our lives. And the best part is he did all of that never expecting anything in return or using it to get with Makoto, just genuine pure love I thought they might genuinely brush the wallet picture off as Makoto having not seen it but it is so refreshing to see characters so emotionally intelligent like Ryuji in this one. Instantly understanding that Makoto must have seen it because of how they were acting. Not running from the situation anymore and confessing, but making sure that Makoto knows it’s not because of the wig and girl uniform, but because of Makoto as a person. That’s what Ryuji loves and that transcends any idea of gender or sexuality. Beautiful. All that’s well and good but who tf would’ve expected Makoto to ask Ryuji out!!! Handholding too, this was just amazing. Sadly I feel like it might not last because it looks like Aoi is having some drama with her grandma and that will probably push she and Makoto closer again.. but I’ll enjoy this victory for now โค๏ธso happy for them |

At least they begin to date even if I don't know the final result I'm still satisfied that there's a real progress in their relationship. I'd rather see the ship crash and burn rather than not departing at all. (My advice if they're gonna end up breaking up, they should go all the way, in every way possible and not possible, before breaking up) |

Seeing Ryuuji's big, happy smile made me so freaking happy ๐ญ But Makoto's comment about 'being able to get back to normal' then broke my heart.. I'd absolutely hate it if he suggested Ryuuji to go out with him just so they can be best friends again and didn't actually have any romantic feelings too. And poor Aoi-chan can't catch a break.. |

Everyone's happy about Makoto and Ryuuji until Aoi comes๐ข And btw,did Makoto started going out with Ryuuji at his own will? It seemed like he was just trying to restore thier friendship. |

One of my fav eps by far, I can't remember the Aoi's grandma situation at this point in the manga but iirc she might die? can't really remember tho Speaking of the manga, we're almost halfway I think. Although I'm a bit worried for future episodes as we've past the halfway point of the anime and we're not halfway through the manga yet |

Feels like Makoto just agreed to go out with Ryuuji because that was the only path forward he could see where they could still be friends. At the end he says "we can go back to how we were before". It would suck for Ryuuji if he finds that Makoto doesn't actually feel romantically about him. |

Then you hate it. I knew that was Makoto's thought process as soon as they asked to go out with him. Considering how long it's taken for them to decide whether or not Makoto has feelings for Aoi, there's no way they would fall in love with Ryuuji that quickly. Of course Makoto's only doing it so she doesn't lose Ryuuji as a friend. |

Ohhh how my heart breaks for Ryuuji, he must have felt suffocated having to keep all these feelings and thoughts of being weird or gross to himself :(( Him looking up same-sex relationship stuff on his phone made it painfully clear just how much this has troubled him. I'm glad he was able to get the big secret off his chest within the same episode, hopefully from now on he'll be able to come to terms with himself. I want to be happy about the dating thing, but I feel like it's gonna hurt Ryuuji so bad when he realizes Makoto asking him out was a desperate attempt to fix their friendship more than anything. At least it seems like that's what's happening here. Like it's almost a repeat of when he asked Aoi out, except she was able to see through him and turn him down, only because she lacked the kind of passionate feelings that Ryuuji can't escape from. And the motive is different now, it's not "I want to be normal" but rather "I want my friendship to stay normal", although I think both stem from the same place - wanting to make someone happy and wanting to avoid abandonment. Makoto is the epitome of someone who always has good intentions and wants to put the needs of others first, but just happens to make the worst choices while thinking he's doing the right thing. It can be frustrating to watch because of how clueless he can be, but I also think it's a very real way to write a character. Telling white lies and making rash decisions in order to not hurt others while subsequently hurting them more than pure honesty would... it's selfish and careless and so very human. I like him a lot and want him to be happy all the same, it just hurts to watch and hits a bit too close to home also. This was an amazing episode, love the way this show handles delicate topics and feelings and complicated relationships. |

Oh wow, I did not expect Ryuuji to confess and get his confession accepted in one episode. Ryuuji getting his earrings pierced because of Makoto, and him not being able to sleep when they're together....ah, what a kindhearted and pure soul. And his cheeks, ahhhh Ryuuji was so cute as a kid. >.< Ahem anyways, man, I'm so conflicted on how to feel...on the one hand, yay, childhood friend got a win! Seeing Ryuuji's bright smile just made my day. But on the other hand, I can't see this relationship lasting long at all...Makoto only accepted Ryuuji's feelings so they could stay together as best friends, not because Makoto actually has romantic feelings for him. I don't think I've ever felt so much happiness and dread at the same time after seeing two main characters get together. Well, to be more precise I feel more dread than happiness about the current situation. Poor Aoi as well, with the news of her grandma. I just want everyone to be happy. T-T |

Very interesting episode. I don't think Makoto has the right reason for dating Ryuji because it seems he's just afraid of losing him as a friend; probably a better solution would be for them to talk it out rather than rush into dating but I can see how he would maybe feel that's the only thing he can do. Will watch this relationship with great interest. |

At this point MAL could put the "Boys love" tag on the anime page or would that be too spoilery for those who haven't watched it yet? It seems like there won't be going back to them just being friends from now on. @ImNotAnOtaku1 I don't see why would be that a problem. Children can fall in love at that age (I did, though I fell for a girl). If you are fine with watching a series depicting crossdressing and boys love it is not so big a step to accept that children can have a crush on someone of their age group, in this case on somebody from the same sex. There is a reason for that this series has the PG-13 rating, young children are not the target audience, they shouldn't watch it of course if that is what you are concerned with. |

Damn that was a tough situation for Makoto and Ryuji. I'm glad for Ryuuji that he was asked out but I'm not sure if Makoto is really into him or just trying to go out with him out of feeling sorry for him so now Im worried if they wind up breaking up and get hurt by it. I don't know what I would want if I was in either of their shoes. Uh oh Aoi is having trouble. I wonder if her gandmother died or only is hurt. |

MAKOTO NO! YOU DON'T GET IT. Fuck. I'm rooting for Ryuji right now, but, I am pretty sure Makoto is not reciprocating his feelings, Makoto just doesn't want his friendship with Ryuji to be broken, as he said, he just wants to go back to the way things are before. Aoi, I knew it was gonna be about her grandma when she got called out the class, FUCK. This is so good though, but stop please, give us a few episodes of fun at least. |

The cat is out of the bag, and it hurts even all the more knowing that both Makoto and Ryuji are childhood friends at that, with the latter slowly seeing him as a self-oriented girl. And all the while, he's been trying to deny his feelings, but it's obvious that he just can't, even after going to the same schools, and even worse, after Makoto started cross-dressing. Even then, Makoto is still himself, and Ryuji's distancing helps somewhat, except until it became public news. Maybe it's becoming like Makoto, that Ryuji is able to be himself even more, which actually repaired their relationship for the better. The school allegations, however, continued, and Ryuji stood for his childhood friend year after year, until the day came of the revealing picture of his bromide...to not being found out!? It was a VERY close call, and things went back to normal, though normalcy is just not there for Makoto realizing that Ryuji may be in love with him, which he explains to a fellow classmate to get her opinion on it. Try as Makoto did to lie that he did not see the picture, the confession comes naturally, though it comes with the heavy heart of affections gone so wrong to be in love with someone of the same sex, where the small actions affect the relationship the most. Ryuji literally suffering a hilarious, but cliché broken rejection for a day, and haivng to hear Makoto's immediate confession almost seems like a pipe dream, but this is reality, that they're finally dating for real. Now...the fact about Aoi's grandmother... |

I believe Ryลซji and Makoto have a true friendship, they know each other when they were little kids. Ryuji is so supportive towards Makoto and I find this amazing. It’s so sad that high school kids judge Makoto for being different, they wouldn’t understand how he feels. The toxicity is everywhere. We get to see that Ryuji also loves Makoto, as if it was not obvious. Even if he’s also a boy, he concluded that his feelings for him were there. Can’t wait to see what’s about Aoi’s grandma. How come she was there too? |

Let me bit throwback. She confess her senpai and he hold her feeling to him, she try hard to be liked by her senpai, he give up crossdressing but she encourage him to not give up, now her senpai had feeling to her but she reject him bc he hold her feeling too long, and now she heard bad news from her grandma. So far Aoi Saki had worst treatment in the show, I hope everything get better for her. |

Took me half the show to notice Ryuuji has pierced ears. Great backstory and confession and I'm all for them dating but idk this feels wrong. It feels like Makoto is trying to date Ryuuji just to keep their friendship together so they can keep hanging out. Kind of like when he said he'd go out with Saki, Only difference being Saki saw through Makoto immediately. Like BRUH I wanted to see Saki at least once this episode maybe to talk to one of them and ease there relationship back together but nah instead Saki gets the short end of the stick and something bad's happened to her grandma. Hope her Grandma isn't dead and I'm curious to see if Ryuuji and Makoto actually stay dating cause I really don't think Makoto's heart is in it. |

Ryuji is a true man for confessing his love there. But I kind of feel a little bad that Makoto's accepting it and going out with him so they can hang out normally with no mutual feelings of love. Very good episode that heavily focus on the relationship between Makoto and Ryuji since childhood till now. Looks like next week will be Aoi's turn and I'm really interested to see how will she develop later on and Makoto as well. |

I love Ryuuji so I was kinda sad when he confessed to Makoto because I knew he was gonna get rejected but wait what. I don't think Makoto really loves Ryuuji and that he just wants to be in a relationship with him to be able to stay and have fun with him. This makes me mad. On one side I hope its not like that on the other side I hope so tho. I was always rooting for Aoi and Makoto to get together since they are such a good match or just all of them staying single and just being a friend group, that would've been nice too! Well.. I will see how it really is in the next episode (gotta wait for it to come out) ALSO YO WHAT?! THAT CLIFFHANGER? AOI'S GRANDMOTHER?! IM WORRIED BUT WE ARE GONNA GET DRAMAAA! |

@degenerate-2002 I don't really think Makoto thought he was gonna commit suicide because he was behind the barrier (or what its called) and didn't make any movements that would make us or Makoto believe he would gonna go onto the rails. THOUGHHH Makoto took his hand so dramatically that it seemed weird because - like - Ryuuji was just standing there and Makoto randomly grabs his hand? This would've kind of made more sense if he was about to commit suicide or if he was running away (or something like that). Anyway, I still don't really think Makoto thought that (would've been somewhat interesting though) |

@OtakuTildi my poor dude is blinded by the pure ecstasy and happiness of his feelings getting recognized and accepted at least superficially. I think the “honeymoon” phase or rose colored glasses will be taken off and Ryuji will find out since Makato probably won’t wanna get all couple-y later. It is such shame because Ryuji deserves happiness, he such pure and outstanding person. The whole sequence with when the school found out about Makato he did NOT EVEN HESITATE to just put his own feelings aside, run to save Makato like a white knight, and said fuck the haters essentially. |

So, in order to keep his gay best friend, all he can do is...just pretend that their friendship is a romantic relationship? Well....ok. @hanyuhi16 Well, it's obvious that this won't go anywhere further, since Makoto is afraid of losing him as his best friend and is already experiencing affection for another person. Especially when he decided that he was going to commit suicide. A kind of mirror of Aoi, who has convinced herself that she does not love Makoto. @Ishitateso The original manga is seinen, so this is aimed even at older people. However, this is expected, since shonen is the most conservative demographic in this regard, unless, of course, you take children’s kodomo. @Mirality @cjlouotaku416 Have you seriously seen this as yuri all this time? |

Honestly, it's really hard to relate to characters you absolutely hate due to the fact that the main cast being really annoying, The timing of Ryuji's backstory is just poor and it's just cliched school bullying anyway that everyone already knew. I won't drop this anime since I'm already halfway through but my expectations are non-existent at this point, which is sad because I was really curious about this show but it turned out be a very painful experience. |

I'm feeling bad for Ryuji because obviously Makoto decided to go out with him just to not lose him as his best friend. He's never thought of Ryuji romantically. It would have been better if Ryuji distanced himself after the confession because now he'll be more hurt. I think they'll break up soon and I think that Makoto started to like Aoi a little bit without realising. The main couple is Makoto and Aoi after all. |
