Production company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yuuichi Hiiragi's Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san) manga on Friday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). Hiiragi began serializing the romantic comedy manga in Gangan Joker in January 2019. Square Enix published the eighth volume in December 2023, with the ninth volume going on sale on August 21. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in October 2020. The seventh volume was released on January 23, with the eighth volume planned for an October 15 release. Synopsis Takane Takamine is great at everything she does, and her magnetic personality makes her the envy of everyone. She gets good grades, excels at sports, and even manages to become student council president during her first year of high school. But Takamine has a secret—she possesses an ability called "Eternal Virgin Road," allowing her to redo past actions and achieve a different result. While this might seem like a decent skill to have, Takamine must pay a price to activate it: she has to strip off a piece of her lingerie. After getting an imperfect score on a test, Takamine begins to remove her underwear during class and is spotted by her average and weak-willed classmate Koushi Shirota, who is bewildered by the sight. However, the very next instant, things reset and Takamine's test is now perfect. When Shirota decides to confront Takamine about her previous test score, she reveals her ability to him and blackmails him into becoming her "closet," making him carry around extra lingerie and put them on her. Her goal is to be able to use Eternal Virgin Road as much as possible in order to stay at the top of the school hierarchy. Left with little choice in the matter, Shirota accepts, starting an oddly intimate type of relationship with the most popular girl at school. great ecchi manga, need a good studio (copium) and a good uncensored version too! nowadays, it's pretty much impossible for a faithful and good ecchi adaptation sadly |

Oh look, another ecchi manga that's going to no doubt get another censored adaptation, given the trend of ecchi manga having nudity cut out or outfits changed for the "global audience". |

@Tropisch You know, people like to repeat that like if it was the only truth there is, but when this kind of stuff happens its most of the time A: Done because the Japanese wants to tone it down for their own audiences, or B: It's because of the Chinese market. |

@Tropisch has this reason ever being said? I can think of ecchi manga getting scenes cut even from the 2000s, is not anything to "please modern audiences" |

I was almost hyped for new ecchi. But I am ready to skip if censored. Will wait until release and only watch if uncensored. Wish people influencing sales did this too, so once bad censored adaptation flop, they get discouraged pulling this shit again. Ionliosite2 said: @Tropisch has this reason ever being said? @FullyCharged I don't know in what world you are living but in 2024 alone there were shows like Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete, Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari, Mato Seihei no Slave (even if it had some censored scenes) and Meitou Isekai and all with nudity, hell, right now, the anime about the fat elves is airing and it has nudity. |

Well, I need to read the manga, and I am expecting the anime broadcast to be censored. MegamiRem said: Here's to hoping for an uncensored adaptation. If you're talking about being broadcast on Japanese TV, don't expect it to be uncensored. Also we don't know how much uncensored stuff on the manga will make it to the final home video/streaming release. I've seen hardcore stuff on the manga getting a toned-down anime adaptation (that's what happened to Tenjho Tenge). Tropisch said: Oh look, another ecchi manga that's going to no doubt get another censored adaptation, given the trend of ecchi manga having nudity cut out or outfits changed for the "global audience" Censorship exist in Japan, you never heard of Tenjho Tenge? The manga was like nudity galore, but when it became an anime the "good" stuff from the manga was toned down and this was back in early 2000's even before anime and manga became mainstream. |

That's why people are wanting a faithful adaptation for this one. Also I don't get what you are trying to get at by bringing up "you've never heard of tenjo tenge?". Animes like higschool dxd, hotd, to love ru, kiss x sis, masou gakuen hxh, testament of sister devil, shimoneta have been there back in the days be it in 00s or 2010s. Heck old animes like Urusei Yatsura had full nudity. There's also been redo of a healer, Isekai meikyuu harem, ishuzuku reviewers in recent times and many other short borderline hentai ish stuff as well. So non censorship adaptations also exist.Censorship exist in Japan, you never heard of Tenjho Tenge? MegamiRem said: People obviously know about censorship but they want a non censored faithful adaptation. So do I, but I don't put my hope up it'll be kept uncensored even if the home video/streaming version could be "uncensored", but it could still be toned down from the manga. As I said, there are ecchi anime that have been toned down from the manga even in it's uncensored form. MegamiRem said: Also I don't get what you are trying to get at by bringing up "you've never heard of tenjo tenge?" Because I'm tired of anime fans blaming the western market for these censorship/toned down version of the anime when that's not the case, that's been happening amongst anime fans that are new or don't have any knowledge or even harbor a right-wing views even though anime is heavily censored in Japan too, you don't see those anime fans hating on the Japanese government or censors for doing that just instead of blaming on the western market when that wasn't the case in early 2000's. Do you understand what I'm pointing out. CC: @Tropisch |

@Ionliosite2 Those are like 3 shows out of the 10+ that were expected to be ecchi. Both quality and quantity has gone down drastically, and that's a fact lol. Still remember the good old times with anime like highschool dxd having even full episodes where someone was naked for the whole duration. Today the uncensored anime get mostly crap like the mato seihei slave adaptation or immoral guild where you have total 3 scenes per episode where you may see the shape of a nip for like 20 seconds You cannot even compare old ecchi to most new shit... for goodness sake lmao |

@FullyCharged oh, so you are moving the goalposts now? You said that there were plenty of ecchi shows with nudity in the past and that now it was a taboo, I proved you that this year alone there has been multiple ecchi shows with nudity. It's not like the very Futoku no Guild that you mentioned has ecchi scenes more intense than the ones in High School DxD. |

@Ionliosite2 There are more censored adaptations than uncensored adaptions being released every season and by a massive degree. Everyone knows it and there isn't any point in you trying to discredit people when anyone can verify it themselves. Just say you hate fan service and move on instead of trying to beat around the bush and gaslight people. It is so disingenuous and inauthentic and its truly pathetic everyone wishes to play the backhanded politician so that nobody can have an actual conversation anywhere online. |

@velvetnyan what are you even saying? He said something that was completely off and I said that he was wrong because he was. I don't know why you say I hate fanservice or what would lead you to believe that, you can see that I give high scores to ecchi shows like Highschool of the Dead, High School DxD, To Love-ru, etc. The one being actually disingenuous was him, saying that ecchi anime was being censored for "global audiences", when the only anime that he could possibly tell me where that was given as an actual reasoning being Re:Zero, and that one isn't even ecchi, he wouldn't be able to cite an ecchi anime being censored for that. |

@Ionliosite2 if you are willing to acknowledge the meat of the statement, which is that it is being censored for foreign audiences for broadcasting codes then you should also be able to accept the rest of the statement which is that it is not only limited to re:zero which means various other anime are affected by this. https://twitter.com/sw_8a6u/status/1772118011207696668 Here is the tweet for reference. Anyways, what was off about his statement? My problem with your statement is that it is the statement I see almost exclusively used to justify censorship of other anime in exchange for these shows being less censored. Even MahoAko had gore censored which is a shame despite it being full on erotica. You didn't even clarify anything that you yourself said in the post I responded to you know, you just randomly started talking about someone elses post who appears to be completely right based on that tweet from the person with much more experience with the industry than either you or I to justify it, even though it has nothing to do with basically saying that shows exist that are uncensored. It is an easy explanation in those cases, budget or new studios that are not targeting foreign audiences or they aired on AT-X and not television etc. BUT a show existing that doesn't get censored isn't a justification or excuse that you can point at when 10 other shows airing in the same season do get censored. It doesn't suddenly make that ok. One uncensored adaptation among many censored does not fix what people are upset about. Of course people are going to complain and they are right in doing so. If you genuinely like fan service I apologize for jumping the gun there. But I still think you are off base, and I can't understand why you wanted to argue with him with no motive, unless its really the argument itself you seek out...I just don't understand I guess. |

@velvetnyan No, he can't point to other anime being censored for global audiences using a single example that isn't even similar to the series he was talking about, of course it makes no sense to just jump the gun and say every series is being censored for that reason. I started talking about the other posts because that's the post that is relevant, not yours, yours didn't say anything that I didn't talk with the other guy already, specially because most of your post was just saying I was being disingenuous and that I was trying to gaslight people. True, people are right in complaining about censored adaptations, I have done so, does that mean that every anime is getting censored? No, the other post even started moving the goalposts because I proved him wrong. The problem here is, as you see, this anime hasn't even premiered yet and he is already complaining about censorship, if this show gets censored then he can complain about censorship, but he was already talking about it despite the fact that we don't know anything, even worse was that he was saying that it would be censored for a reason he cannot even prove it's true. |

@Ionliosite2 I guess your sort of right there, but I think people respond like that because they feel beat down from so much censorship and so even if they can't 100% pinpoint the cause they can sort of rationalize who is at fault with what information they do know. What I meant about you talking about other posts is that I responded to the post of yours that upset me, and you didn't clarify on that. It seemed to me that you were justifying censorship by saying some anime had nudity in it from this year, but now I understand you are just saying that it is possible for anime to have nudity in it. I'll just accept that most of this argument happened because I misinterpreted what you meant. So I am sorry about that. I still sort of lean in the direction that I am perfectly fine with people worrying and complaining preemptively, I guess maybe it frustrates you, but for me I feel sort of beat down by it as well as them and it is good for me to see there are people tired of it as well. I do want to hold out hope that it will get better though. I have seen some people in the anime industry mentioning that fan service is important as well as the Visa situation in Japan potentially being resolved might help. I will say this anime definitely needs a studio willing to go all the way, this isn't one that can be half-assed. |
