Another show with fighting this season. Those opening minutes speaks for itself and OP song has a dark tone.

Not sure how I feel about Hobin yet but at least he stands up for himself. There seems to be lot of social media presence in this whethe it's Twitter, online videos, etc. Might take some time to get used to the character reactions in this show though, as some feels cartoony. Got mixed feelings on this tbh.

Another Korean manhwa adaptation, and this time, it's manga-hwa Park Taejun's Viral Hit a.k.a How To Fight, literally one of the hottest and most popular Naver Webtoon / Line manga in Japan, next to the much-abhorred Netflix-licensed Lookism.

Ma55ive The Rampage's OP has a real literate kick to it, as well as Crab Kani Crab's ED.

A YouTube specifically on fighting, this is the reality of MC Yu Hobin in the rather infested NewTubu school community being bullied by one of its students Pakgo, of which popular ones like him and Rumi have thousands of followers. Including yet another bully of Snapper a.k.a Jiksae, he is the school's violence politics 101, yet both Pakgo and Rumi have earned a lot of their revenue enough to boast of their own regard. Even Hobin's mom is also used as a scapegoat, whom she is now recovering from her illness. He can only earn from his part-time work, which has a beauty in the form of the fast-food chain's restaurant idol Choi Bomi...which luck as it, Pakgo comes to do his live recording.

Bomi is put on the spot no thanks to Pakgo's excessive presence, so much so that Hobin steps in to relieve her of her stressed position. And to make matters worse, Snapper utilizing Hobin's mother's NewTubu id to do a streaming session, he just has to trip on the power line, and that easily loses 30 thousand yen worth of revenue. Despite that, Hobin and Snapper's fight got unceremoniously recorded onto NewTubu, and the former gets a call from the latter about the video that went viral because it got uploaded instantly when the computer lost power....from its monitor alone. But 0.1 yen per view that gives 1 million yen on that video alone and rising, Snapper is put on a position where he can't ignore now being the bullied. Of course, all that money raking in for Hobin, he's not afraid anymore of facing against Snapper, but rather, he wants to collab with him as a producer to rake in money in NewTubu. But of course, Hobin is not going to do it for free, and Snapper becomes the tool instead.

Yep, become a Viral Hit by fighting the biggest thug in school.

After the insane adaptation of the manhwa that was last season's Solo Leveling, this season's seasonal manhwa adaptation of had some tough shoes to fill, and it's none other than the person who brought you the 2022 ONA, Lookism, Park Tae-jun.

Hobin Yu, a slender high school student, finds himself at the lowest rung of the school's social hierarchy, enduring bullying and harassment. As he's used as a plaything by the delinquent Jiksae, Hobin dedicates his days to part-time work, aiming to cover his mother's hospital bills. He appears to be the least likely candidate for a NewTube channel dedicated to combat. Yet, after taking advice from a mysterious NewTube channel, Hobin surprises himself by effortlessly defeating adversaries stronger than him and amassing wealth beyond his wildest dreams.

I'm glad he punched that dude. I mean, no matter how cowardly and spineless I am, if someone makes fun of my parents, I'll punch them no matter what, even if I turn into a bulb later, lol. Ad revenue, watch time, total views, monetization—all things to consider for a 30-second video that has zero ads and violates the TOS, wouldn't make money even with 200 million views. The funny thing is that the live stream wasn't taken down; like, NewTube doesn't have any damn rules, lmao. I just hope Hobin fights properly in future episodes; I don't want to just watch him beat up a bunch of dudes with food, lol.

[b]A fun start, and a hilarious one at that. Keep up this same pace, and DON'T mess up just adapting the original source material, and I'm hooked[b]

Loved it, its really faithful to the original webtoon,

i was scared animation would be lacking since its from a small studio but man pilot was a blast, voice actors were on point and they adapted around 2 chapters?

Kinda strange the setting is in Japan now and translators kept the original korean names but i'll get used to it.

Too bad its only 12 eps but i'm still very excited for what's to come adapted

also why the fuck would they spoil most of it in the first 30 seconds + opening that's just lame.

Yeah animation felt off, but the only thing missing now is more episodes. Korea does like its drama & bullying themes.

Noticed the one I watched had the names spoken changed to the Japanese localization rather than the Korean ones while the sub used the Korean names.
I know that solo leveling had 2 different JP dubs one using KR names and one using JP localization so wondering if this one will have that too?
(Had to stop watching 3 mins in because of the above disconnect haha…)

Bullied weak hero becomes strong seems to be a common theme among all Korean webtoon, which to be fair, is also the same theme as Japan's manga. The difference is that Korean webtoon hero doesn't need to reborn in another world to become strong.

In general, I'm not a big fan of delinquent anime. Epecially after watching Bucchigiri?! last season, I was not planning on watching one this season.
But by a twist of fate, Viral Hit has hooked me with it's first episode. I don't have very high hopes, but it seems like it could be fun.

The way the characters find every excuse to fight, the viral scene and basically the fact that everyone sucks in a way is quite interesting. I wanna know where this goes and how exactly do they deal with bullying. Also there's the question of just how much effort will they put into the fights. I don't expect every frame to look good but some of them weren't great. Still, this is the first episode, I'll let them cook.

Pakgo definitely embodies the obnoxious YouTuber caricature perfectly lol. You really do have some of them irl running around like they can do whatever they want.

So after accidentally live streaming a fight that later goes viral, Pakgo’s cameraman and the MC form an unlikely alliance to use that type of content on their own “NewTube” channel to rake in money. Hey if it works, go for it. Especially with the MC having to pay for his mom’s medical treatment.

This one seems pretty entertaining so I expect it to be a fun watch.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

This is one of my favorite underdog stories ever, I’m so happy it’s getting an anime adaption!! I loved this manhwa so much, this is really going to be amazing! It was created by the author of Lookism too!

This was a perfect first episode, I love that they started it with snippets of what’s to come, I’m thrilled! The music that started up when Bomi made her first appearance made me laugh though 😂
The one thing I think I’m disappointed about with this first episode is that when Snapper picked on that nerd and the nerd fought back, he didn’t say “Kill, kill, kill, kill”, he said “Omae wa mou shindeiru” which is ten times better, in my opinion.

At the moment, I'm kinda disappointed with the anime. It looks kinda bland, the animation is ok for now and the opening doesn't have any charm. I never heard about this Animation Studio but it's adapting the Manwha panels pretty well.

As a manwha reader, I hope that the anime will get better over time, with the animation and other shi.

I also recommend the Manwha. It has great art, a good story, the characters are all unique and it is very entertaining.

I give the first episode a -7/10 just because it didn't have too much to offer. Till the end of the season, I hope this series will get atleast a 7.80😭🙏

See y'all next week🗣️

Where's the 1st Anime Trailer ost? Man I was so dissapointed in this adaptation I was expecting something more than this... Atleast I was waiting for that certain ost to redeem the poor adaptation, from the op or ed but I never found it. Nothing but dissapointment in the 1st episode.

The MC is an ok guy, but fighting and posting on social media, doesn’t seem like a good way to make content or safe for him.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

The anime trailer ost appears to be a original vocal song composed by the composer Yutaka Yamada, hopefully it will make a appearance at some point throughout the episodes or if not , have to wait for the soundtrack

I am so glad that they didn't change anything about he designs of the characters, like what happened with lookism, it actually looks like the manhwa. The animation isn't god like but it matches the story, i can't imagine it having a different animation, as a manhwa reader i am pretty happy with it so far, can't wait to see how the rest of the story gets animated.

All of the characters are so disagreeable...

But if there's one show that can get away with it, it's one about Influencers / "NewTubers", of course!

An over-the-top, satirical comedy about how messed up modern society is? Why not! So far it's funny and I'm up to see this school go up in flames. I just hope they never try to sell any of these characters as more than the pathetic losers they are.

Except for the obese Otaku of course. He's the best!

Great start. I like how the anime shows youtubers to be this ugly not only on the inside. And there are some youtubers like that guy with 700k subs who think they are hot shit and annoy everyone around them (like minimum wage workers).
Another thing I liked, is MC's monologue about his hard life. He slaves himself out, lives a miserable life and barely makes anything, while someone make 30k yen out of nowhere.

What I didn't like is how oversimplifed being a youtuber means. It still is challenging to get yourself out there. The show portrayed kinda like "just start streaming lol, everyone will already start watching you" It's not that simple.

Another thing I liked is that MC is no secret martial artist who is hiding his real powers. Like maybe he promised his mom not to ever use his fists again or something. I kinda expected him to come out and reveal it eventually, but then he said "I've never used my fists before". Good, it'd be boring if he was OP
