Is this anime eventually gonna have some kind of stakes at some point?

I doubt it, I mean he can leave the game at anytime, unless it turns out that the npc and game are alive, ( I really doubt that too though) I think it’s just a fun anime.

arc that the anime wont cover, and I guess that is technically stakes cus IRL it would be for money.

For tensura the manga maybe good, but the anime too much talking like it was powerpoint manga panel move with a sound. then the way they speak also so slow, I had to speed it up to 1.5x playback speed. But at least second cour S3 they improve it a bit that they speak like a normal person without have to put drama each time they spoke, and skip some unnecessary dialogue.

Of course there are stakes, but it'sjust different kind of stakes than SAO has. There competive game tournament arc for example. And of course Fighting 7 colossi have some stakes as they are one of kind bosses.

It's never dead serious, but it's not like there are no goals.

@rijallconnie A very delusional and subjective take lol. MT writing is on par with many world pre-bestseller fantasy books when sao and the other 80% of LN's are just ok/well written. Its on the level above objectively from a professional side.

Well, in middle ages your ancestors were married to each other(doing kids etc) at age of 13-15 if equal and even faster (from age of 8 lol) with royalty. If u really think u will be above the world rules, above your genetics (being grown boy etc) and all than well again u are delusional. Even if i not adore the fanservice in the show with loli-shit, i cant see how it can make the story worse in writing when thats actually used in development of the characters. In 99% of the shows fanservice is just for fanservice, sao included :)

Ps ill say that i really hate 90% of "middle age" fantasy worlds where we have no real laws of this time. Just a picture book dummy disney funny tales for 6yo.
Also I do like SAO(even s2 i think is not ovjectively scored below 7.5-8 here on mal).
