I really want to see how the anime would look across all 3 seasons by CygamesPictures instead of other companies.
The way this movie lookes and how they did Road to the Top both look amazing when they're in charge.

I just have one key question. Are they adapting some of the story from the game and the "paper" adaptations, or is most of the anime completely original?

Looks like this is going to be a prequel seeing that Jungle Pocket raced in the early 2000's, while the horses in the TV series all raced during the 2010's.

@GridironOtaku It's a different continuity, not a prequel

@RobertBobert The umamusume characteristics in different titles are the same, but different titles don't use the same timeline(only 3 anime seasons are the same), so the movie mainly original(except the IRL story which all titles should adapt)

That CygamesPictures is making this movie is actually insane, Road to the Top in its 4 episodes looked infinitely better than most of the 2 seasons that have been made by Studio Kai. Road to the Top looked different and so charming, this is very promising.

Gonna pass. I liked the first season of the series. But already in the 2nd season it felt weaker and with the recent season it seemed like ... "the same stuff just with different chars". It is getting a bit too old for me and I'm not willing to follow this endlessly. (I would not mind more of the Shingeki no Bahamut though - also based on a Cygames game. :D)

@Luthandorius Well, at this point, it seems like the perfect setup to promote as many characters as possible instead of creating 1-2 seasons with only a couple of characters at the center. Bushiroad have already taken this into account, although they got too carried away in recent seasons IMHO.

I always say, you know that you've made it big when you get a movie.
